I'd like to add lights to large ships like the ghost, millennium falcon, shadowcaster, etc. Would you recommend I stay with the same size LED and battery? I am not sure how you called the single wire in with the red plastic tubing around it. Do you have a list of products you used that you could post to the comments or description of this video to give use some idea of what materials we need to start a project like this? These videos are really helpful! Thanks for putting them together!
Hi, sorry for late response. do you mean the full core wire? It's stripped so that it holds the battery in place and also connects it. You might have to hook up multiple batteries if you need more lights. Parallel connection doesn't increase voltage and drains the batteries slower, serial connections adds the voltage from all batteries. List of products: 1. Ship of your choice. 2. 3Volt lithium watch battery, or any size that fits under the stand.(Note that you have to take voltage into account) 3. Clear super glue 4. Hot glue (probably better then what I used which was Karlsons Universal Glue) 5. Threaded wire (wire that is built on multiple threads for flexibility) 6. Full core wire (wire that is just one thick thread inside) 7. 3.2v 20mA SMD LED (0603) www.elfa.se/en/smd-led-blue-0603-sloan-smd-b0603-02/p/17518696?q=75--186-96&page=1&origPos=1&origPageSize=25&simi=87.03 8. Copper Tape
I don't have any schematics but I made one quick for you for the follow up of this video. drive.google.com/file/d/1WpEEI3rumj5izcfIJjRNKzENnwVHhD2J/view?usp=sharing since this one is so simple and don't need any resistors.
I don't have one but if I get one in the future I could do a video about it. It shouldn't be that hard to use the same technique on it. But since it's so big another approach might be better. Hard to say without seeing it in person.
By far one of the coolest mods I've seen to date. Nice job!
did your technique on my Y wing. it looks awesome. thank you so much.
Nice! Glad I could help out! :)
Your shacking made me feel like I could do this with ease.
ErgoProdigy yes chronic shakings suck when it comes to these small stuff.
Kool mod but why is the TIE/ln glowing from it's back window and not from the Twin Ion Engines?

Do you have electrical schematics of the design. I would like to expand the design to my armada ships but I haven't touched ohms law in a while

Nice job! MTFBWY
Man you should make and sell these or at least the bases to mod any ship, I think you could easily pocket some cash.
Can you try this on star wars imperial assault miniature?

Raaaww yea for sure i been trying n so far no good but am kinda new to the whole led thing lol
If no wires or glue would be visible i would do this.
To be honest, these wires are so thin that they don't really detract from the image any more than the clear plastic posts do IMO.
