I heard that they are focusing on more live-service games, which in my opinion, is not going to end well. Concord is already dead and buried and now, I don’t know what’s in the cards for both Fairgames and the Marathon remake that Bungie is making. Sony and their “new” CEO is making a huge mistake with that statement and as evidence by the success of Marvel Rivals (which is an awesome game to end 2024), Sony needs to understand that not every Triple-A live-service can be a success if they tried. But one slip up from triple-A studios (declining player counts and middling reviews) can damage the game’s reputation as a whole. So my New Year’s Resolution for Sony in 2025 is focus on the games you're planning to release, not playing hot potato with the same tired live-service formula. You should keep Helldivers 2 because that game is here to stay.
What is it with these companies and doubling down on things that make their games fail? At least WBG plans to outsource some of their franchises, after having a couple failures, even though they had planned on more live service as well.
It seems to me that all we really have confirmed for this year, that's actually worthwhile is Ghost of Yotei. It looks like us PS5 owners are relying on 3rd party and Xbox games.
i wouldn’t mind if they really only drop two games - as long as the quality is there. we have so much that’s coming, sony being slow with releases doesn’t bug me tbh
2024 was surprisilly good year and my 2 favourite games are number one Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and number 2 Astro Bot. 2025 looks surprisilly good on PlayStation with big games that are known and hopefully coming to PS5 in 2025: GTA VI, but it might come in 2026 too, Marvel's Wolverine if it's not get delayed & 1943, Death Stranding 2, Intergalactic, Ghost of Yōtei, Sonic Racing Cross World, Lost Souls Aside, Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter, Spyro or Crash Bandicoot returns and Kingdom Hearts 4. Thank you for an amazing year 2024 and happy new year everyone! 🎉😊
Ps usually doesn't have more than two or 3 first party games a year. If 2025 is a down year with DS2 and and Ghost than every year is a down year. 2018 had God of war and Spiderman. 2019 was days gone and death stranding. This is the norm.
@iraford5788 yeah everyone was like the end of the Ps4 was a banger year that sony needs to get back to. Last of us part 2, ghost of tsushima, and Spiderman miles morales were the games.
You should retitle Podcast Now to Podcast Future since you’re a future man over the now or in the moment hype. You always overhyped a new year to be way crazier then it end up being… and when the time comes to jump up and down to be hype through the roof, then you wanna caution expectations. Lol No one ever has a definitive roadmap of how a year shapes up for anything. Especially at premature predict stages. Because anything can happen within a year. There’s always room for major surprises, and unexpected/shocked announcements that could happen. So yeah.
Didn’t PlayStation themselves say that 2025 would be the best year for the ps5? If so there have to be at least 2 blockbuster Sony exclusives ghost of yotei as the summer game and Santa Monica, 1 or more liveservice/multiplayer games, blueprint, venom or som surprise for the fall if not It’s far from the best year. So death stranding, ghost, another Sony game and some other 3rd party ps5 exclusivity releases and we are looking at possibly their best year.
PS5 in 2025 will be fine just because we dont have any release dates yet also we dont know if GTA6 is coming in 2025 or not i blame that game for release date hell also usually during the PS4 era only had 2 to 3 exclusive's a year i expect that going forward on the PS5 era also GAAS games like Marathon and Fairgames are expected to release this year also even i have no intrest in them also dont forget Indiana jones and Doom the dark ages are also coming to PS5 we have a lot to play on that system.
In terms of quality, Playstation is clearly number one. It's not about quantity its about quality😊 What games are going to do better console exclusive-wise than Ghosts of Yotei & Death Stranding 2?
@djstef4549 Stellar blade is 110% coming out in 2025 1st half on pc because the official developers said for a pc release in 2025 . I am talking about sony games
I honestly think 2025 is gonna be a let down in general and Sony is gonna be the biggest let down. After the years we had with them with pathetic showcases and their push for live service has really set back a lot of studio's they have from bringing out games that the audience really want's. I honestly think Ghost of Yotei isn't enough for next year by them in my opinion. Sony doesn't really care though because they aren't losing sales if anything their profit's are going up which is *WILD* to me seeing how they've been treating the consumer this generation, but they also don't have competition either, so that makes it even worse. I expect a lot of delays once again because everyone is running from 1 game GTA6 because it doesn't have a release date. 1 game is about to make this year for gaming a huge disappointment for people who don't play GTA anymore. 👀
They have more games announced for next year than Nintendo. How are they third? Baised on what you said " as of what we know" in terms of games. Just fact checking. respect your content though
I mean in terms of literally what's known, ghost versus Metroid right? I think the thing with Nintendo is like, we know the Switch 2 is coming, which they're just going to dominate. And I can heavily assume a Mario is coming with it. Truly it depends on the kind of gamer you are though right? Like if Astro and Mario aren't your thing, but Ghost is then they win, you know what I mean? Highly subjective basically. Respect your comment! You have a good one!! It's going to be a killer 2025 no matter what lol
@PodcastNow I see your point and I respect it. quick notes though. Death stranding 2 is confirmed for 2025. Marathon and horizon online are rumors for next year. Personally won't be shocked if they announce more first party release of 2025. seems to be a pattern. but it is better that way considering the amount of announcements that have not been seen in years.
For sure!! I think say Doom and Fable (at their best) might even out DS2 and Ghost 2 (maybe edge to PlayStation) but then you got waves after it for Xbox and Nintendo. Really just comes down to, can we get an Astro equivalent in the middle of the year, you know something like that. Horizon Multiplayer I'm looking forward to, Marathon I'd try but not really my thing lol, but it can absolutely be MASSIVE
PlayStation technically had like 7 exclusive titles this year, third party or not. Microsoft drop two this year. Two weak ones I might add. PlayStation is doing more than enough
yeah the biggest ps exclusive being concord and lego horizon adventures . Meanwhile all 3rd party games moneyhatted by sony what a year for ps exclusive meanwhile xbox with cod black ops 6,talker 2,indiana jones ,hellblade 2 this year . 4 first party title including microsoft flight simulator 2024 and excluding stalker 2 . Xbox lineup in 2025 is much much better than ps .
The fact that your counting 3rd party is exactly what's wrong with you fan boys. 3rd party isn't Sony's games. It doesn't matter if they payed for 1 year exclusivity. The game still isn't their's. I play on Playstation and I'm telling you this. 👀

Death Stranding 2 like 60/40 and then beyond that, just the stray Lost Soul Asides of the world and hoping for more Hail Marries like Astro lol.

Agreed most definitely, I don't know why people keep pushing that narrative about Sony.

Exactly.
Whatever the Switch 2 launches with obviously sell just as well as those two games
More Wolverine hopium.
Which playstation pc ports do you think will launch in 2025 like we got 2 spiderman 2,last of us 2 can you tell more.
First party? Or third party? Cause I believe stellar blade is coming but I might be wrong
@djstef4549

indiana jones was clear of astrobot lets stop the xbox tax

Your bias is showing. Stalker 2, microsoft flight sim, hellblade, indy jones, age of mythology That's 5, 3rd party or not.

“two weak ones” and your wrong on the number of releases, great biased opinion
