I listened to this beautiful live audio and I think that Segovia made an incredible effort to make people and musicians fall in love with the guitar. The same effort nobody is doing today. Ok, Segovia does strange things, musically talking, but I prefer an abundant expressiveness rather than playing like a computer or without any sense of the rhythm. I'll love Segovia and I'll be grateful to him forever.

Hi Flavio, when I was young I was a student of a student of Segovia, we all have to be grateful to him also for what he did in Italy and I agree with you. Then he was the creator of a personal style and this in any form of art is a great thing. So... I'm happy to know that you also love Segovia's interpretations.
      Compliments for your videos

SO UTTERLY BEAUTIFUL! He was a real artist and a true musician. Even after all this time his playing stands apart, alone and unique.

Anyone that says segovia isnt any good is just stupid. Even Agustin Barrios himself in his own words in a letter to a friend said he was “enchanted” by his playing and tried as best he could to “imitate segovia” while maintaining his own originality. Even the greatest composer for the guitar Agustin Barrios tried just like all of us have to imitate segovias sound. I find that charming

I am delighted to read that you have access to all IQ tests of listeners and made your own criteria as well.
However, with art everything is a matter of taste. To my taste Segovia plays the fast variations way to fast and the dance and breathing element is not there. That having said, I think Segovia was a true artist with a unique style who has done very much for the acceptance for the classical guitar as a serious concertinstrument. When it comes to masterclasses, there was only one way to play: the Segovia way. He never asked a student how he innerly heard a passage or asked to sing a phrase. On the other hand, his playing and tone are very recognizable. And yes I think he was the cornerstone until John Williams and Julian stood along. So then there were three. When Ik comes to the great Paraguayan, there is no classical guitar composer which has that depth etc.. which Augustin had. So everyone has its strength and weaknesses if you like.

@@DecacordeChannelno need for access to IQ tests. Saying Segovia is no good would be an objectively ignorant thing to say. But I don't imagine there are many people that would actually say that.

Who says Andres Segovia is no good... I feel like he's one of the all time least controversial musicians.

Everyone knows Segovia as an old grandad. Sure, he was a great player but he would have been an absolute shredder as a young musician

Ses variations sur le thème de Mozart ,c'est n'importe quoi. Une fougue désordonnée. Cela s'est arrangé avec l'âge heureusement......
