Will Howard looks very comfortable in the pocket. If he can keep on playing loose and have fun, the sky’s the limit for this passing attack.
We got an upgrade with Will Howard. He was on point and is a great leader. The Achilles heal of this team will be the offensive line.

What did OSU average rushing? 5.2 yards per carry WITH your starting G Jackson was out... I think you are way out of bounds on that call. They didnt use Howard in the running game like they will once B1G play starts!! You will see a LOT more of the inside zone - read and exploit what the defense gives you.
@@HughMorristheJoker Again, I dont even consider worrying about getting Simon in the game unless is 100% I would probably sit him and go with Arvil Reese (OUT PLAYED CJ Hick except when rushing the QB hicks is a heat-seeking missile. Reese has to get more game reps. He shows good insticts that CJ seems to not have in the passing and is too slow reading, diagnosing, and reacting. That slowness is causing inside gashes that better backs WILL exploit
They just don’t understand. The threat of a quarterback run magnifies the power of the offense.

I'm excited. First game. Game speed is different from practice speed. I"m not worried. We'll be in the play offs and be a team other teams will have to be concerned with.

Maybe just maybe Austin knows what he's talking about. Here's a stat for you. Do your research and look it up. Will Howard career completion percentage is 58.9%. That's right 58.9% once again 58.9% and one last time 58.9% career completion percentage. That said, I firmly believe and I think Austin would agree with this that his completion percentage will be a career high this year in a buckeye uniform. Before you criticize Austin, do your homework before you show your stupidity!!!

Ryan Day is definitely the QB whisperer. You know alot of that improvement is coaching. Will is at home in the pocket and that is everything.
I think there were many positives during the game. I have no problems with how OSU won. Will Howard is a very good bridge QB for this particular year with all of the seniors back. Next year Noland , Sayin and Brown can fight it out.
They punished Akrons qb until he left the game.
I doubted him. I won't lie. I do still want to see him in a big game environment, but he did exceed my expectations
Love my Buckeyes but it is very frustrating to see that Frye has not fixed these O line issues . Are we really gonna waste all of this talent on this team and let it all slip away again because of the O line. This is just mind boggling to me how this guy still has a job there
Because of the college 25 video game , everyone was expecting that unstoppable spin move from Jusdkins !!! 😮 surprisingly he did not try it
I can think of 3 incompletions that weren't Howard's fault. One was a TD to EE.
I agree about the LBs. Slow filling gaps and whiffing on some tackles. This was my concern coming into this year. How fast can they progress? We'll see moving forward.

It’s pretty cool that we get these once in a generation type talents like J Smith at WR……
There just aren’t that many => I mean sure we had Garret Wilson, Chris Olave and Jaxon Smith-Njigba all on the same team…..oh, and Jameson Williams who left and went to Bama and was All American…….
But who else ? What people don’t seem to pay attention to, or they say things like “Day made adjustments at halftime and now OSU killed them”. The problem is, against teams like Akron, on depth alone, OSU should be able to kill them. Akrons starters are going to be wore down in the second half. OSU should still be fresh because they have depth and just better athletes. This will not be the case against other top programs.
So when each team is at their best, OSU struggles against Akron. That is not good.
All Akron wanted to do was throw short outside and run outside the tackles, the same thing Oregon did when they beat the Bucks a couple years ago. Took OSU forever to adjust and linebackers looked slow/confused. Joe Moorehead was the OC for Oregon that year and was the HC for the Zips Saturday. Gotta figure this stuff out sooner, Buckeyes. Also, it appears that Trey is a better back - particularly speed-wise - than Q. We'll see.

Plain Vanilla on the play calling..... Chip knows what he's doing - giving the competition what to see on film (?) - only what is necessary to get the job done ? - - - 1st half showed me too many 3rd & short - and leading to a 1st down ! D was a bit of a disappointment for me - but give credit to Moreheads bag of tricks ? > W/O Cody - not so bad. -- My expectations are for having the best D in the country !!! 🤗

How tf does Justin Frye still have a job?? he’s been terrible at coaching the Oline. Osu run blocking has to improve the couldn’t push around Akron and that a big concern also hicks and styles struggled that running Qb was giving them fits.
I saw him throw on the run well he had more zip on the ball than I though he would a lot of what we want is up to the Oline.

Kyle was 27 of 39 for 354 yards and 4 TD’s !
His passing percentage was just a tic shy of 70% and he had lots of throws downfield that were accurate and game changing.
Thought everyone would want to know so they could wish him well !!!

Assuming the OC was holding back the playbook the offense when in rythm operated ok with exception on outside runs. The Oline seemed too slow getting out to put a hat on hat. On the defense side all seemed ok , except with that motion back or tight end releasing in flat which allowed an easy 8-10 yards before any buckeye laid a hand .
