Cmon Rise release with more monster than World did. And since they are on a new engine, everything had to be worked from the ground up. Just because they have access to previous monster designs doesnt mean they should add it all... YET. Calling this game's content a flaw is something i imagine only karens would complain about. It's inevitable that they'll go the World route and add in the monsters too, and for free most likely. The story is quite simple, but it's all the game needs. The Rampage seems to be part of the ecosystem's balance (it makes sense you'd have to defend kamura multiple times over) and something disrupts that balance and needs to be corrected. I thought this was fine. Lackluster in a storytelling point of view, but i dont think the franchise needs one right now. Overall i have to say, this is the most comprehensive review of MH Rise right now, despite a few things i dont agree with.
I don't know about the combat here being easier. I think the monsters are faster and more aggressive than ever before, especially compared to base World. Even the "dromes" have combos in their arsenal now, which can be tricky every now and then. I think it's more like... the monsters don't do much damage, even with un-upgraded armor. Or rather, most of the monster attacks do little damage, with a few outliers. Instead of straight up "easier", I'd say this is just less "punishing". Add the newer and more convenient ways we can heal just adds to that. Anyway, it feels a bit like MHP3rd. While it's still very fun to play, there's not a lot of tension in the fights. So far anyway.

Two things. I, personally really enjoy the rampages and they are the highlight of the game for me. Playing with friends is what makes that work so well. The second thing, is that this game has an absolute shitload of monsters for base game MH, not at all lacking in content in my opinion.
Am I the only one who doesn't like how the game looks? I bought day one and I love it, I just don't like some frame rate dips here and there, could it be a game cartridge problem?
i actually disagree with the rampage part for me its very fun and puts a lot of strategy to otherwise another slugfest. breaks the monotony of grinding very well.
Thank GOD that there is almost no story. In Monster Hunter World the Story was so freaking annoying to me... and the main reason i never played it for a second time!

Sorry, but Dragon Quest XI S isn't simply a downgraded port of a PS4 title. What ended up on the Switch was built specifically for the Switch, so no Rise isn't the first AAA game built specifically for the Switch. But, both Monster Hunter Rise and Dragon Quest XI S was instrumental in the development of the Switch itself, as the developers made several comments on an old build to improve it overall. If only there was this app that millions of gamers used to talk anyway? Hmmm we can only dream right.

Monster Hunter Rise: better than World in every conceivable way with countless Quality of Life changes
IGN: 8/10
Such a great game. I just beat ol'maggy made him look like a chump. Can't wait to keep going 5 ⭐ here I come 😂.
1:45 “brings over everything from World”? I must be missing the feature where you can voice chat with friends and listen to the game using the same headset
Thats literally a hardware limitation... lol
Did World even had a Voicechat? 🤔
@@CottonGG Switch games have the ability to come with Voice Chat. This game does not.
@@DantoriusD yes, if you had friends you might have noticed
@@nochilldil2414 i have Friends 😅 but usually i dont use ingame Voicechats. Most of the Time i use Discord or the PSN Party Chat.
I think the lack of content can be blamed on covid, yeah they could of delayed it but I don't know how much it would have helped. But it dose have more content then base World and Tri. Also I can guarantee Rise Ultimate will be a thing.
It's not a blame its a literal fact it affected development and they also had a issue with hackers so all things considered its godly for what it currently is
maps are so... empty and dead compared to world
Nah
Rise has more monsters than world had at launch 😎🤔
To be honest world sucks in various aspects to me, quite a very slow gameplay pace to me
Game is decent but too easy and way to short this game was definitely made for casuals I mean the wirebug shit and already showing where monsters are on the map is for newbs.
I hope the "Switch Pro" unlocks 60 fps. Really tired of games being 30 fps.
Hmmm cmon u cant be serious

Rampages are weak and aren't as fun? Dude that's your personal opinion, i think they r a blast and a nice change of pace after doing regular hunts for an extended period of time.
“That’s your personal opinion”
That’s literally what a review is, yes
There are more base monsters than any mh before rise...how is it lacking in base content...? Its not. Count the monsters at the start of any mh title.
It’s not just the monster count. The endgame is pretty lacking and the story is extremely short and pretty bad. I do love the game but just looking at it
@@nickplaysgames9997 Ah yes! MH has always been known for its amazing story! /s
@@Draclord35 by bad we mean the story just randomly cuts off, apparently there isn't even a resolution or anything. it just leaves a bad taste in the players mouth ontop of the total lack of endgame, world had less monsters but not by a lot, plus they had tempered monsters. Just feels like they should have waited till april
2 elders vs 5 elders when world Launched
@@kingkobra4910 we aren't even gonna get that many more elders tbh, I can bet they're just gonna keep adding apexes to the rampage only about half the player base can withstand

Why come to a comment section for a game you clearly don't like to shit on things people enjoy?
You must be fun at parties
The graphics are not as good as mhw it's sad that people are saying it's gorgeous because it's 100% not. the creature mechanics and basic attack mechanics are the same as mhw or previous mh games. Honestly the only reason this game is appealing to someone like me is the dog mount and the wire bug. Not really a fan of this one but I'm happy for those that enjoy it.
I disagee with the basic attack mechanics since the weapons are entirely changed by the silkbind attacks and custom movesets in comparison to world. I also wouldn't compare it to world since that argument isn't exactly fair, it's on a switch lmao, for a switch it is gorgeous. That being said, bro this game is mediocre af I'd sit it out too if I were you
Nice bait. 🙂
Looks good and I'm coming from mhw, it's not our fault for having realistic expectations for something running ancient nvidia chip sets.
Yeah you clearly don't have a Switch that's why you don't know how good it is run in a portable console. And why would you compare it to MHW who are built for PC? Many long time MH fans dont care too much about graphics. Only new players from MHW are. Gameplay is the most important and MH Rise delivers it.
@@markashleymanayon4992 I have a switch I play some switch games but not alot.
The Monster Hunter team told them to double the ram, and this game is why they wanted more ram.
Bruh it wasn't built for the switch they simply added some extra content and orchestra... Yes it's a better version but the game itself wasn't built specifically for switch.
@@therealbalto24 uh... yes it was built for the Switch. The developers even frigging said so. They didn't want to make a simple port from a PS4 game, and they wanted it to be as good as they could possibly get it, so they rebuilt the game for the Switch. This game was a promise to Iwata from the director of the game, personally.
@@keiichimorisato98 it's a modified port bruh if u believe they rebuilt the game from ground up only to make an identical game for the switch a year later you're delusional.
@@therealbalto24 it was in development for the Switch alongside the PS4 version, it wasn't made in just a year.
