Was litterly sitting here talking to my wife about being depressed in life. It comes and goes for me. The phone dinged, and it was the boss with this video. He knows how to put some pep back in a step, naturally. The boss helps people in so many ways. Love the man.
My son and I were able to watch a fisher for about 5 minutes, while out deer hunting. What a beautiful animal. My son thought I was gonna shoot it because I was watching it through the scope. Told him they had their place in woods too.
Got out of debt, started my own home repair business and set my own agenda and own hours. Happier doesn't begin to describe it. I take 6 weeks off every year and go out West to camp and hike. I stay home when I feel like it and work on our homestead. I could go on, but you get the picture. Thanks for everything you contributed to my "vision on life", boss.
Thanks for sharing that clip! Tomorrow, Feb. 1st will be 2 years that I had open heart surgery and I want to say Thank You . Your videos helped me heal.
@@augustreil Yes congrats Wayne and I pray you don't have to have anymore done to that heart of yours! I have to go on Wed. for an echo and something else I can't remember and then get a heart monitor put on me. I already have a stent and praying I don't have to have anymore done either.
Money could not buy the happiness that you get out of your life style Boss. I’m glad that you share it with us and glad that you are with us. It’s just priceless. You inspire many. You got some more adventures to go and some more journals to write. Please keep them coming. Thanks Boss.👍
Your teachings and journey is a great example to others JC. For many folks, you offer the wisdom of an experienced mentor in a way that is warm and humble. Thanks for being you!
I'm like you, Boss, left my comfort zone in 1988 and climbed into semi leaving a 20 yr. nursing career in the dust. When I was in high school a guidance councilor told me I wasn't nurse material, to bad Mr. Haight didn't live long enough to see what I achieved while saving peoples' lives while driving that semi. I heard many a Police Officer say, "Mame, we don't get many nurses driving a semi." Daughter's and wives thanking me for being in the right place at the right time. But none of it was my doing, GOD put the thought in my brain, opened the Right doors for me to succeed in a life that was 100% different from what I left behind. I am so glad I took that leap of Faith back then because those 15 yrs. I spent on the open road was the very best life for me. I look back now, as I enter the 7th decade of my life, I have no regrets, the stories are etched in my memory.
It takes thoughtfulness to know what one needs to have a vision and execute the vision. Many do not have the mental maturity to use what we have been blessed with. A mind to think with. A body to execute. Opportunity to make it happen. May the master physician lay his healing hands on you and bless you with many more years.
Very, very happy to see that you have lived life on your own terms. I chased my tail for decades with work, buying “stuff”, houses, cars, college degrees, etc. Finally, at age 54, after years of seeing people say someday when I retire I’m gonna...and then retiring only to not be able to, or dying shortly after, I jumped off the train. Bought a camper headed out with my Boarder Collie (looks like Tildy’s twin) and saw America. It’s been 5 years and what a ride it’s been. Stay happy my friend.
Not many men can leave this life with no regrets, Boss. I just wished that I had followed my dreams when I was young, instead of starting when I was 45. Still, I've filled the last five years with some great experiences and met some fantastic people, so better late than never. God Bless you and Laurie 👍
My wife, mother in-law and daughter are taking this to heart. We are starting a new chapter and starting to be more self sufficient and enjoy life. Leaving our lives as we know it in a growing city in Saint Cloud Florida and moving to TENNESSEE! You are an inspiration! I live my life by thinking one question every day. ( How will I be remembered after I'm gone? )
The best life is a life with no regrets. Your life is that kind of life. One thing that you can add to all of your acomplishments, is all of the positive impack you have had on your viewers. You have brought joy and inspiration to so many people. Our lives are so much fuller because of you. Thank you my friend!
I just love this video. It has lovely scenes, laughter, humor and an inspiring post surgery "meandering thoughts" portion. I have spent years loving and appreciating your videos. Many blessings to you and Lori...you inspire and bring me joy. Thank you - Lucy
J C, you have done it again. Thank you so much for sharing. Your outlook & your journey through life, in all it's ups & downs is just so inspirational. In this, my 77th. year, I look back & I find I have so many things that I am pleased with & so very few regrets. I find I have so many people to thank, ( both good & not so good), for the place in life I find myself in today. One of my few regrets, is that I have not kept a diary, but I will be starting one today, covering both the day to day & probably, quite subjectively, memories of my first remembered beginning from around 3 years of age. As you often say, life is good.
Cram as much ss you can into each and every day, thats my theory on a fulfilling life. The more you do the more you have to look back on and be contented with your lot in life. And i reckon the Boss man must be about the most contented person I have ever come across so far. May god bless you and keep you safe and well, and for many more moons to come. David in the U.K.
Hey Boss you are a good man, even more so for sharing this part of your life with us, as I said before you keep getting out walking in the woods and please keep sharing it with your friends around the globe. Each one of these videos instils a little of your ideals into all of us, you are an inspiration. It is an unfortunate fact the press and the media want to bring everyone in line and make them numb about life. We may have 1st word luxuries, but what have we paid for them ? Ignorance, intolerance, hatred in the UK we don't know our neighbours, when once we would leave our doors open and live in an open house, say back in the 50s, but the establishment has made this impossible. God Bless you and Momma, and I pray you "keep on keeping-on for a very long time" and keep us along for the ride we love it... The very best regards from England.
Such wise advice for everyone regardless of their so called status level! Thanks for sharing such private time. Continued health recovery and can’t wait to see the plans for the new cabin. Love the videos!!
I love Sunday evening watching the Boss. My husband cracks up laughing at the end when I’m singing along. Life s what you make it and you made a gooden.
You seem to be one that has always enjoyed coloring outside the lines and taking the path less travelled, which is admirable to me! I jumped off the train over 20 years ago (or was derailed by my mother's illness), when I quit my job as a Kinesiotherapist, built a house in the middle of our family's ranch and began the life of cattle tending! It has it's challenges, almost daily, but I wouldn't change a thing! No regrets!
Thanks for sharing Boss, as a young person who has had your same philosophy for several years now, it means a lot to hear someone who’s in the later part of that journey confirm my beliefs.
I was just thinking to myself that I am retiring next year and I'm at the beginning of fixing up our family camp in the Adirondacks, you my friend give me more inspiration by listening to your philosophy on life. It's so true what you say. Seems the part of what I have always loved is just beginning for me.That first night back in our family cabin will certainly be an emotional one.been in our family for 121yrs. Another chapter begins😁
I really enjoy watching your videos. Been watching over a year now. But this one really hit home. I am recovering from open abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery. We appear to share a very similar philosophy of life. Can't wait to watch further videos of Frankie and the Boss. I found myself singing that song as I walked through the deep snow of my woods yesterday. Hahaha
Happiness is over rated, it comes and goes, lasting only moments. I find joy. It lasts forever in whatever you do. Share some joy today and it will be with you always! Boss, you hit the nail on the head with your thoughts. I enjoy walking in the woods, also. Can't wait to see the videos of your wild critters. Peace to you and Mama...
It’s like you’re foil insulation I watched and listened and it really works I know there was a lot of non-believers but I believe you and so grateful. No we don’t know when the end is coming but you’re doing the right thing live every day like it was your last enjoy my friend
Well, I love your philosophical videos! And your snowy woods vids remind me of being out in the woods with Dad. Glad to see you're posting regularly again now! So far, I've been living life with some similar values to yours, checking one dream off the list at a time. Sure, 2020 slowed a few of my plans, but I've found new ways to make more of my dreams attainable. I've been following your channel for 5+ years now and your videos and wisdom have been a positive influence in my life, so thank you! And God bless!
You are an inspiration to me. To hear an American live & educate &"inspire yourself as well as others. I'm proud to have serve our USA. ❤🇺🇸 God bless you & yours. Bossman #1
Afternoon Boss and Lori. Appreciate y'all sharing your stories and logic with us. Keeping positive and smiling! In our thoughts and prayers. God Bless y'all and the fur babies ✌❤😁
I've been watching your videos for years. I watched you build the cabin in NY and even learned how to skin a racoon from your videos. I was also a misfit because my dreams were too big for my age and was told to just go to work. Well... I hate working because that place is literally a prison. I found a sense of peace with your videos and I found how to find balance. Last fall I showed those negative Nancy's and bought 58.5 acres with a beaver pond. Thank you Boss and thank you for not selling out to the production people. You are in my prayers. Cancer SUCKS! My little girl has been battling leukemia and next month is her last chemo treatment. Amen. God Bless You!
Very touching. You are very correct about retirement fear. I was 56 when I decided to throw in the towel and retire. It was the best decision I have made since I started working when I was 15. I understand what you meant by looking back on things that I can’t get back and it is sad to think of them. Now my wife has a crippling disease so we are limited on what we can do during this Covid. This is a bad situation so we are enjoying what we can do as much as possible. Thanks for sharing your life experiences.
There aren't many people I would sit and listen to about such things but you make it interesting and truer words have never been spoken. I'm so happy your doing well and going on with the life you love so much.
I will never regret my life either. In 2007 my husband and I sold our house and property. We took off from New England on a newly purchased 32 ft. Sailboat. With the scant amount of sailing experience we gained over the summer. We took off for Southern Climes. By Thanksgiving day we were heading across the gulf stream to the Bahamas. And for the next 12 years we traveled 45,000 nautical miles on our boat. So now nearing 60 we decided to buy land in Tennessee and we are building a timber frame cabin. Everyone said we shouldn't do it but had we listened to them our lives and experiences would have been no where near as rich.
Long time viewer, first time commenter. I've been watching your content ever since the NY cabin and have always appreciated your insight and authenticity, as I know others do as well. Thanks for sharing your life with us, JC. Be well my friend.
I'm at the point in my own life where I want to make the transition from taking care of others, being father and provider to doing for myself. I'll be honest I'm struggling with it. Isn't that sad? I don't know how to make that change, I think courage is what I'm lacking. You inspire me JC, I hope I can figure this out soon, because just like you said, I feel like I'm running out of time. My body is already telling me there's things I just can't do the same. Thanks for sharing
I lot of folks feel that way. After a lifetime of a "programmed lifestyle" it may be hard change but it's certainly possible. Transitions are tough but you can do this.
It’s always good to hear humbling messages from people who live live on their own terms boss. Also I get great enjoyment from looking at my SD cards as you do. It’s the simple things in life. Thanks Boss for the videos, keep em coming! -Ken
God bless you Jim. I’m 64 with health issues too. I’m surprised I’m still sitting upright. I’ve done the soul search myself when I was at my lowest point health wise. While I didn’t finish my dream list, I’ve had a relatively good life. It is all about love and family. I’ve been blessed with a woman I met at 24 who was by my side until 2012 when her heart gave out. Now my kids and grandkids are my focus. I can’t get out in the woods anymore so people like you let me still live vicariously while I am locked down for what I expect to be by final year. Thanks for all you share. It means a lot to many of us.
Been waitin all day am Shoveling SNOW!! here in West Virginia thinking if you guys are shoveling too So happy to hear from you all!! REALLY made my DAY!! God Bless an keep you all inHis love an care an Health🙏🙏❄️🌻😊Janie D
I'm in West Virginia also Preston county Cheat river beautiful out later in the week the snows sell by date will come and go clouds will part sun will do the work of the snow blower living my life in the Appalachian mountains later in the use by date means I have no place to go I've been blessed growing up on the Atlantic Ocean and having the Chesapeake bay nearby allowed me to work and enjoy life then later living in Florida on the Gulf of Mexico with many bays to enjoy then the Rocky Mountains what a wonder from sand dunes to high flat mesa's to beautiful valley's with hot springs like Pagosa Springs I've seen and enjoyed while working living a modest life that anyone could do but my wife's family is from the Appalachian mountains so this Lord willing is where I'll expire with a little stream in the back yard surrounded by little mountains and a fisher or 2
Another outstanding vlog from the Boss! Thanks for sharing your journey. Even though I was fortunate enough to retire at 50 and be very healthy, I often get wrapped up in the "doing" and forget to "live in the moment" and get joy from all that mother nature offers to those who choose to see it. Your video's help put things in perspective!
I'm glad you didn't give up! I have been where you were with medical problems, cancer and then abdominal aorta repair surgery. I didn't give up on life then and continue to pursue my nature photography hobby at 82 years of age. Not only that, but I believe that life is a lesson for all of us. You can learn and progress as a being or stagnate and feel sorry for yourself.
Great thoughts here; you being an artist by nature, that comes with taking the different path. I know because I'm one, too. Love the woods walk and animal tracks you point out. I expected the squirrel to start 'talking', lol.
We been watching u for years 2 glad to see u going and sure would love to read ur journals im sure u have had the best life anyone could have keep it up brother
“Exceed the sell by date” , I love that line. Very profound, moving and thought provoking video, thank you! I’m pretty much as your are as far as contented and fulfilled life. I was able to retire at 62 which was a bit longer than I wanted to go but that’s the way it worked out and believe me, I love the freedom that I now have. I will lay on my deathbed with few regrets and the blessings of a fulfilled life. John
I worked hard in order to retire early . Left the rat race and built my log home in northern Wisconsin with my best friend, my wife . I completely get your message, don't live your life on others terms . Going to be a challenging year for me , recovering from rotator cuff surgery . Have to put up 5 cords of firewood this year , hope I heal fast . You have to roll with the punches life gives you and with Gods help we'll be fine . You are an inspiration to me , so God bless !
I'm thankful that the days in which you were struggling have passed, and you're back in the saddle to enjoy each day. I'm glad that you're able to enjoy each day with a good woman, and have the joy of the two furry kids displaying their antics for you. Keep the Bat Box and the wine glasses full my friend.
I know how you feel about your career I had cancer 3 times in the past 5 years and I have bet it and I'm cancer free now . And I really enjoy watching all of your videos God Bless you.
Loved this video boss! You’re right, the barkers are the ones that need it the most. We only have one chance at this life, do it while you can, because tomorrow isn’t a given... Hope you both have a great day, and may God bless...
Thanks for the video JC! I really enjoyed! I remember how you were struggling back then. I’m so happy that you have turned the corner and healed up!! To see you post surgery not knowing your future was a very powerful piece of footage. Thanks for sharing it...much love to you all!
I have to tell you I am touched by your generosity in sharing a very intimate part of your life with the TH-cam community, I am so pleased that you are content with your life and your decisions.
I love watching the wildlife on your property. The fisher are especially fun to watch. Your philosophy is spot on. I've always told my kids to work hard, and play hard. Life is all too short, do not waste a minute of it. You have a great attitude. God Bless.
LOL, you just keep outdoing yourself, adding to my respect & genuine love for you . . . . . Your funloving, I'm livin' the dream grin & nod is always the period on your exclamation . . . . . & now I have another, most favorite❣ 🙏's & 🤗's 💞👵
Keep on keeping on my friend. I celebrated my 70th birthday yesterday. Time sure flies by you if you don’t have goals. Take care and God Bless. See ya on the next one.
I still like your ramblings and when I Young leaving school ended up going to the coal mines as a sparky. I was a loner and I enjoyed my weekends going camping, mainly on my own. Hiking trails I loved. The main thing is that I enjoyed the simple things that these weekends brought. I did hitch hiking, cycling caravaning, anything to be out in the country. I admire what you have done with your life, but I am happy with how I life turned out to be. Good luck to you and your adventures, say hello to Laurie and the Pooches greetings from across the miles.
Hi Boss, I’m so glad you shared what you shared! I’m so happy now that I’m chasing my dreams, I’m very bless to have a wife that understands this. My dreams are not hers but she is chasing her dreams as well. We support each other. You Sir are a strong minded and driven man you have lived the life you wanted and done so much, we should all be that blessed!!! Thank you so much for being you! God bless you and yours. I await the next video.
As one of your Patreon subscribers, we can watch a video there, or here on TH-cam, and learn something new with every viewing. You are inspiring beyond words and so, so right on.
Thank you for this vlog. Very inspiring. At 50 I was fortunate to leave my 9-5 three years ago. I definitely was experiencing that fear that you talked about but I made the decision and kept on going. So glad you took those blinders off many years ago. I finally have mine off too. Wish you the best. Appreciate your channel and staying Tuned.
It’s always good to hear your life philosophies. Everyone is different but those with dreams and ambitions can appreciate it and they get it. Sometimes a 9 -5 is the means to those dreams and sometimes its not. Y’all take care now and I’ll see you on the next one.
This video comes at an ironic time in my life. I’ve been working in NYC (living in CT) and doing the 9-5 thing and since covid I have been able to fully work from home. My boss eventually got rid of the two studios we used to work at and we are now a fully online company. We’re finding how easy and comfortable it is to do it this way, as many others have found, and saving money in the process. I’d spend about $6k a year in commuting costs. My sister lives in Scotland and I have been thinking about buying property in the Scottish highlands and doing my work from there since all I need is an internet connection. This video is really helping to push me to fulfill this part of my life. I’m going to do it. I’m 36 years old and love the outdoors. If you haven’t been to Scotland, I recommend it.
You are such an inspiration! And this is what I have been saying to myself and have been trying to accomplish in the last 10 years but not always doing. I will try to follow your example more closely with the time I have left. God Bless You
Thank you for sharing that. You are The Man! It's really amazing how much you have helped people see a side of life that is right in front of them, yet seems hidden. Sounds weird, I know, but I'm one of them so I can say that it just seems that way sometimes. Thank you JC.
Love your thoughts and outlook on life. I took another fork in the road but did it my way and love,it. My wife and I have been married almost fifty-two years and went together four years. I have been self employed 90% of my life, retired now but work on projects every day, my wife by my side as always. No regrets here either.
What you said is something a lot of us should have heard way earlier in life. I did most of what I wanted but still made a LOT of bad decisions in my life. I do not have regrets simply because it has made me who I am today, I hope that you sometime write a book of life as you see it so hopefully some young folks can get a better outlook on what it is truly like going after and accomplishing there dreams. God bless you Boss and keep doing what you do,as I know you will. Al
Awesome !!! Keep livin the dream !!! And thanks for dragging us all along, it's been a fun ride. With much more to come. Be blessed, stay safe, but most of all have fun. Peace 👍😎👍✌🖖👉💥🛎
I to was hit with cancer word this year, although it was minor it still kind of sobering to associate your name with that word. I have follow up this week. I have been getting my plan so I can live my life my way! I am A little late to the race but I feel I can catch up. Glad to see you enjoying ever second!
I'm pretty late to the game also. I wish I had known, when I was younger and stronger, what I wanted out of life. But I guess I had other things to worry about back then. I'm aiming for that dream life.now, just hope it's not too late when I finally get there.
Please write a book on your life.....the world needs your wisdom, positive inspiration and words. I've never seen someone with such a great attitude. It needs to be shared with the world in a non digital format.

Try raw vegetable diet and cycling daily. It can cure depression.

We appear to share a very similar philosophy of life. Can't wait to watch further videos of Frankie and the Boss. I found myself singing that song as I walked through the deep snow of my woods yesterday. Hahaha
LoL, couldn't agree more....my about the "see-by-date", has been met , no regrets! If I go tomorrow, I've had a full wonderful life!
I have a suspicion when you reach YOUR sell by date you will ignore that too!!
I plan to
It’s like you’re foil insulation I watched and listened and it really works I know there was a lot of non-believers but I believe you and so grateful.
Happy to hear that and thanks for taking the time to say so :-))
You are an inspiration to me. To hear an American live & educate &"inspire yourself as well as others. I'm proud to have serve our USA. ❤🇺🇸 God bless you & yours. Bossman #1
God Bless :-)
I look forward to your videos. Just love you two. Happy adventures.👍✌️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I’ll never look at a sell by date the same! Great video and so glad your doing better.
Soooo True !!!Janie D
Once again you have given outstanding advice, "Food Advice ".
Food is good ;-))
I'm at the point in my own life where I want to make the transition from taking care of others, being father and provider to doing for myself.
-Ken
You're a good soul JC and like you always say, "ALL THE BEST TO YOU, AND GOD BLESS"!
I'm in West Virginia also Preston county Cheat river beautiful out later in the week the snows sell by date will come and go clouds will part sun will do the work of the snow blower living my life in the Appalachian mountains later in the use by date means I have no place to go I've been blessed growing up on the Atlantic Ocean and having the Chesapeake bay nearby allowed me to work and enjoy life then later living in Florida on the Gulf of Mexico with many bays to enjoy then the Rocky Mountains what a wonder from sand dunes to high flat mesa's to beautiful valley's with hot springs like Pagosa Springs I've seen and enjoyed while working living a modest life that anyone could do but my wife's family is from the Appalachian mountains so this Lord willing is where I'll expire with a little stream in the back yard surrounded by little mountains and a fisher or 2
No shoveling today but snow coming tonight.
Squirrel talking, that is epic
We been watching u for years 2 glad to see u going and sure would love to read ur journals im sure u have had the best life anyone could have keep it up brother
“Exceed the sell by date” , I love that line. Very profound, moving and thought provoking video, thank you! I’m pretty much as your are as far as contented and fulfilled life. I was able to retire at 62 which was a bit longer than I wanted to go but that’s the way it worked out and believe me, I love the freedom that I now have. I will lay on my deathbed with few regrets and the blessings of a fulfilled life.
John
Do what you love love what you do
I worked hard in order to retire early .
Pouring one as soon as I'm done typing this :-))
JC, You were Blessed with many talents from God. Thank you for sharing them and your stories here with all of Us. A Fantastic video;
I know how you feel about your career I had cancer 3 times in the past 5 years and I have bet it and I'm cancer free now . And I really enjoy watching all of your videos God Bless you.
Congrats :-)
I am so happy that you're cancer free. Stay healthy and happy!
Loved this video boss! You’re right, the barkers are the ones that need it the most. We only have one chance at this life, do it while you can, because tomorrow isn’t a given... Hope you both have a great day, and may God bless...
Thank you and God Bless :-))
Thanks for such a personal sharing !!!! I have a few years on you but those were indeed "words of wisdom". God Bless !!
Thank you Stan and blessings to you as well :-)
Thanks for the video JC! I really enjoyed! I remember how you were struggling back then. I’m so happy that you have turned the corner and healed up!! To see you post surgery not knowing your future was a very powerful piece of footage. Thanks for sharing it...much love to you all!
Thank you for sharing. Well said, I can fully relate. I've never fit in, nor do I want to. Stay safe and warm.
God Bless.
Inspiring and home-hitting. Thanks for sharing with us, JC. God Bless.
God Bless.
LOL, you just keep outdoing yourself, adding to my respect & genuine love for you . . . . . Your funloving, I'm livin' the dream grin & nod is always the period on your exclamation . . . . . & now I have another, most favorite❣

Keep on keeping on my friend. I celebrated my 70th birthday yesterday. Time sure flies by you if you don’t have goals. Take care and God Bless. See ya on the next one.
Happy 70th Birthday🌹🎂 🙏🏾
I still like your ramblings and when I Young leaving school ended up going to the coal mines as a sparky. I was a loner and I enjoyed my weekends going camping, mainly on my own. Hiking trails I loved. The main thing is that I enjoyed the simple things that these weekends brought. I did hitch hiking, cycling caravaning, anything to be out in the country. I admire what you have done with your life, but I am happy with how I life turned out to be. Good luck to you and your adventures, say hello to Laurie and the Pooches greetings from across the miles.
I really appreciate your insights.
Especially the "FOOD outlook on life"!
Thank you for sharing. Blessings.
Peace.
Been watching you for years.... Wonderful content with a great message for all. Thank you sir! ~Lynette
Thank you for being a Patron. Without patreon supporters it wouldn't be worth the time I invest in all this. Your support is greatly appreciated :-)
You are a good man Boss always looking for your videos . Thank You
So nice of you to say :-)
If you haven’t been to Scotland, I recommend it.
awesome guy awesome life u are very lucky man more people in this world need to be like u
Thank you :-)
That was great ..True words spoken.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I just found out that a dear friend of ours passed away. Another one gone at 57. Life can change in a blink.
Peace
👍😎👍✌🖖👉💥🛎
Thanks for sharing that little snippet of your life with us. It takes a person who is comfortable in his own skin to do that.
Life is like a trail camera. You never know what you’re gonna get.
That is a better saying than chocolate.
Never understood that one.
You know if you reach in a box of chocolate you are going to get chocolate.

Please write a book on your life.....the world needs your wisdom, positive inspiration and words. I've never seen someone with such a great attitude. It needs to be shared with the world in a non digital format.
Inspirational video is an understatement for sure, awesome Boss!!! 👍😃✌️
