    This game is amazing, just the fact that you can be a millionaire by effecting the economy by raiding or just trading

    Buy at Praven - ale flux - sell anywhere else
    Buy grain at dhirim - sell - any city but uxkhal is good

      Dude I dont know how it happened but when I was playing yesterday Uxkhal was buying grain for 50 denar and all the towns near Dirhim were selling grain for 3 denars and I made a fucking killing off of that shit. I think their trade routes from Dirhim and the near by towns were being raided or something and my size 64 rabble was just scaring the forest bandits off.

    Hey I know this is an old video but i gotta say this was a GAMECHANGER. I've been going through the punishing cycle of raising mercenary bands to make money with loot, but always getting ambushed and defeated and starting over. I went from failing with 60-soldier armies. To turning a profit with a mob of peasants!
    (Btw I found out Grain is a GREAT base to start trading with. If j don't have a strong enough army to do Cross-Map trading, u can usually buy Grain for like 3-5 gold from plains villages and sell it for 30-50 in most of the cities. Grain is probably 1/3 of my income)

    Each village and town are able to produce some goods and will have shortages of other goods.
    For example, a fief would need Boats as capital in order for it to produce smoked fish. Similarly, a fief would need deposits in order to make iron, acres of grainfields to produce grain, hives to produce honey, vineyards to produce fruits and grapes, and heads of cattle for beef or dried meat.
    There is no fief that has all capital. They will always have a shortage in some things. This is why it is lucrative to buy salt in Wercheg, where they have pans, and sell it to Khudan which does not have salt pans, but has many heads of cattle ready to be turned into dried meat.
    By using the cheatmenu you will get an option to view a village/town's production. If they have mills and not a lot of grainfields (like Uxkhal) you can know by common sense grains will be in shortages, and thus be sold at a higher price there. Furthermore, caravans automatically make trips to towns and they can reduce the prices that shortages raise, making it a little annoying as it cuts in to your profits.
    If you play a game of Warband long enough, caravans will be raided and diminish, and you might get a very very big list of goods in the market (like 6 quantities of spices or 20 quantities salt). This is actually a very good thing for you, as now you will be the sole person able to profit out of trading as most factions will have 1 caravan.
    A village that has a lot of prosperity will be very productive compared to a village that is poorer. If you are awarded a village you can help it become prosperous by fixing food shortages (this includes dates, ale, spices, olives, and wine...ect) and escorting it's villagers safely to town and back to home. Once your village is flourishing and everyone is working and the market is bustling, your village will be able to produce twice the amount of goods it usually does when its average. This leads to abundance which leads to lower prices which means you can sell them at a higher price somewhere else. There is also a big fat bonus when the taxes are due each week.
    Just be extra careful you don't make enemies. Vassals are able to hold grudges and I was in a game where someone left the faction to join the faction we are at war with just so he can go raid my village because I was always rude to him and stole his daughter. The same goes for your enemies. Do your best to let them go after winning a battle and dont harm their peasants or villages. Way later in the game, when you make your own kingdom, lords will remember your kindness/honor and may wish to defect their faction to help you, especially if he has 1 or more enemies in all the other factions (which usually they all do because they do stupid things like raiding and them accidentally bumping into each other and fighting).
    **I recommend you get the noble companions early in the game and train them each to have tactics level 9 (+3). This means (even if the enemy out numbers you) if you can get your companions as your vassals to join a fight your battle advantage would be crazy high and you will then out number your enemies in the battle and get very big reinforcements. You can abuse this when sieging or defending castles/towns as you can mess with how many troops you spawn with vs how many troops the enemy can spawn with. (eg if you maxed your battlesize to 100 and your vassals have a lot of battle advantage you can be fighting with goods odds like 2:1 or 66 vs 33). Tactics are not very important if you removed the battle size limit. For example if the battle size limit was 500 then tactics will be useless if the sum of your, alllies, and enemy troops = >500 since all units will spawn anyway. So keep that in mind. Maybe you hate tactics and think its a waste of skill so be it. make your battle size 500 or more. If you want to abuse tactics then set your battle size to the minimum.

    The best thing to do from my experience is:
    To get started (500-1000 denars):
    Cheap salt from Ruvar and Wercheg
    Cheap Iron and tools at Suno
    Sell these at Sarranid cities.
    More money (5-7k):
    Spices from Tulga (buy for 600 sell for 850 -1k)
    Cheap velvet at Jelkala (Buy for 800 sell for 1 - 1.2k)
    Go between Khergit and Rhodok cities selling these, spice goes for around 870 at rhodok and serranid cities.
    Vaegirs will buy spice and velvet for up to 1.3k (This is rare and has only happened to me twice).
    mega rich:
    Literally buy the most expensive things and sell them for even higher prices.
    Have high trade and inv management, trade will make you sell things for higher and inv management allows you to have more stuff.

  • @hydro4198
    @hydro4198 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Idk if this is spoils, but after getting taxed on spices a few times, I learned that like Veluca has wine, Tulga and Ichamur usually have spices for dirt cheap. In my King play through, Ichamur’s economy crashed out of nowhere, and I could buy spices at 300 denars a pop, and Narra or further would pay upwards of 800 denars per spice
    So realistically, as long as you have trade 4 or higher, which I usually invest into early on, you could put put 700 in and make it back plus 900-1100 profit. Little money invested and no need to have any reputation

    how do u take a castle without a faction? sorry I don't know much...

    • @turyasaurous
      @turyasaurous  7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      No worries, generally you'll want to look at your troops, find your strengths (i.e melee, range, horse etc...) and pick a faction that will be weaker against the troops you can field.
      Then once you have a faction picked to destroy, you'll need to sour your relation with them. there's a few ways to do this;
      1. Attack one of their villages
      - You can do this under the hostile actions (i think that's what it's called)
      2. Attack a lord
      - Generally will say something like 'Surrender or die'
      3. Attack a trade caravan/villager on the map
      - This is my preference as it leaves you less likely to lose a lot of troops in the battle so you can go straight for a castle.
      Once your relation is soured a bit (should only take 1 or 2 round of one of the above options) you're essentially 'at war' with that faction. Which means you can attack their stuff.
      A side note since you said you were new. Should you find out that war with this faction is a bad idea, you can sometimes 'make peace' with the faction, be wary though this gets rather expensive the more angry they are with you (and if they're too angry they won't accept your peace offer).

      If you have to many holdings, you will experience tax inefficiency. I have 2 towns 2 castles and 1 fief. I keep them close together so that if they get attacked I can defend them. If you improve your relations with the holdings, they are more inclined to give you their money. Do quests for the Guild Masters to increase approval, also defend them from raiders and do tournaments.

      Only own less than 6 properties, preferably all cities and castles. Give the rest to your most trusted lieges. Make sure those properties are doing well and you can make a ton... I own Praven , Uxhaul, Suno, Rivacheg, Haringoth Castle and Ismirala castle and I’ve made over 25k profit weeks many weeks in a row, I just broke half a million denars recently, and I started in the negative. When it comes to taxes less properties is more as long as they are prospering.

    • @turyasaurous
      @turyasaurous  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's kind of a min/max type of thing. I haven't ran the math so I could be wrong but it seems to me the combination of being slower because of the large party and having to pay a lot more every week would cause you to have less money at the end of a trading run.

And lets say if I wanted to make a place that makes bread, in a town that is buying bread for a good price, since there is bread being made there, won't the money I make from it be lowering because their stock in bread is going up?

    My strategy is just doing tournaments. 3980+ 200 denar if you bet 100 per round. There is risk because you can lose and you lose 100 denar per round. Then I buy a dye works place to have 400-500 denar per week after 2-3 tourneys and that supplies my army of 60 and then I go doing whatever yo make more money until I want to build another dye works. I also spread then out because when things get seized or countries are at war, you don't get money from your shops.

      Also definitely make sure your army is leveled up a bit before attacking a castle. 80 Huscarls will take down most castles if a lord isn't present but even with 300+ peasants you'd have a hard time taking anything.
      If you hit a roadblock definitely feel free to stop in and I'll help if I can

      Turya Saurous 300 peasants may have a hard time taking a castle but they have no problem taking down a few knights. Overrunning your army with their sheer numbers. An that makes raiding a village dangerous when its not poor. Even with a poor village quite a few villagers will team with the lord that engages you an they will soften your men up for the enemy lords troops.

      Additional notes: Have a high renown & right to rule or all the other lords will hate you. You'll also want to be able to field a very large army and have a big army in each castle/town you own. Otherwise your faction will be destroyed.

    10k investment into the dyeworks usually yields 400-500 a week
    Which means it takes 20 weeks / 140 days for it to pay for itself.
    Then it takes an additional 20 weeks / 140 days for it to produce another 10k
    A good army of tier five units usually costs around 2-4k per week
    If you invest the 10k in the dyeworks, you don't see the profit for a ridiculous amount of time, and it takes roughly 4 weeks to pay for every 1 week of wages
    Or, you just keep the 10k, and that's roughly five weeks wages
    Enterprises are not worth it in this game at all.

    I’m using zemalf’s trade route through all of calradia and keep redoing it until I have enough money to purchase land for dyeworks in the rhodocks land. Am I going the right way?

    My weekly cost is 1847 Denars and is gonna increase due to me using swadian knights any ideas for money?

      Hmm, there's a few ways to go about it which would kind of depend on your end goals. Safest way is to probably grind sea raiders (very easy to kill w/ knights) and selling the armor at Rivacheg and Wercheg. Everytime you hit Wercheg buy Salt. Sell the salt at say Reyvadin. Every time you have more than 10k buy an enterprise at a major city. Rinse, repeat and you shouldn't have too many money woes

      Turya Saurous Thanks, I have a good army of 50 swadian knights and other things. Got a village and other enterprises so my cost was 3000+ denars but it drops to just 900 denars

    So you spend 10,000 Denar to buy a business. The it makes 220 denar profit a week.
    That's almost a year to break even.
    How is that a good thing!?
    Just travelling around and trading brings in more profit than that, and instantly too.

      Yea, but sometimes you want to relax, gaŕisoning your armies in your castles/towns, while doing nothing and just watching how your competitor doing. Or sometimes throwing a party. All without having to worry about money.

      depends where you put it - dyeworks in rivacheg nets you a ton of money where as in some other places it might be awful

    Lol ive been soley raiding thinking this is the only way to make money suffice. I constantly have a flow of like 50k minimum before level 8 with a huge swadian knight army. My lords hate me, but fuck them, rumor is theres a babe down to start a war over Suno 😎
