First time in company history we have done furloughs. We went from doing 14 billion a week to negative 6 million in the middle of a pandemic that should cause us to be busier than ever. Hang in there man and just keep the hope that something good comes out of all this! If you’re job loss is anything more than temporary there’s still thousands of jobs that are hiring!

    Mike,
    I noticed the hole left in the panel when the gust pin is removed to lock the yoke. I think the pin will vibrate up/down when in the flight position. You built shields for the light and pen pockets, but not the gust pin. Just an observation. As an aircraft engineer for a mayor aircraft manufacture I'm truly impressed and inspired by the attention to detail and the fantastic build and engineering quality. Thank you for the videos.

    • @MikePatey
      @MikePatey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      vipervette03 there is a receiver under the plate I didn’t show, I can show it later. the pin drops in and you must push the button and I locks down in a pin set 2” under that hole. You can’t get it to vibrate or remove unless you push the button on the top of the pin

    • @slcfloater9443
      @slcfloater9443 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mike Patey Those are the same kinds of pins used to secure an envelope to a basket on most balloon systems. My system is a firefly though and uses a toggle set up. I’d be happy to show you. How about a balloon ride for a Srcrappy ride😬🤣. I fly out of American Fork regularly.......

My grandfather has a Cessna 170 that has been in storage for about 3 decades since being ground looped. He has the repairs done on the landing gear mounts and the wings completed, but never finished the engine as it had a prop strike. I think its time to get it in the air again.

    Hi Mike, I wanted to join all of the other people around the world who enjoy your videos, and learn how to build aircraft from you. Thanks for continuing to make them and please keep them coming. Additionally, I want to add a suggestion to help your customer representatives minimize the time spent on the types of calls you talked about. As a corporate business consultant I'd like to offer the following solution to mitigating those calls. Have your customer reps ask each caller to tell them the model number of the tug they own, and also to ask the caller to verify that the Best Tugs logo is shown on the exterior of the tug. If the BestTug logo isn't on the tug, then have them turn the complaint into a opportunity to have the caller become another Best Tugs customer.
    You're time and effort to create all of your videos are certainly appreciated by all of us. Thanks for doing it... Back to work!

    Love the thought for the pen and flashlight holder. 5 pens does seem like plenty. What about keeping 2 pens and taking the space of 3 of them and making a cell phone pocket?

    I love the thoughtfulness that you integrate into your designs. Your design philosophy should be adopted by others to provide safer products. However, I know that your design schedule and budget restraints for Scrappy are far more relaxed than the development of products for the U.S. government. I would have loved to be able to design in that environment. One thing that I noticed in your video is that you did not talk about having a lanyard for the control lock pin. I know that your design includes a storage location for the pin, but nothing to prevent the pin being dropped on to the floor of the cockpit when you are sitting in the seat. I know from experience how hard it can be to retrieve a dropped item from the floor when you are all belted up ready to go.
