  • You can waterstart already but mainly struggle sometimes to get all the gear in the right position quickly after your crash? Then this clip will probably get you a few new ways to get on your board quicker next time!
Filmed by a drone from above I talk you through 3 different positions you can end up in when you crash while windsurfing & explain you how to get the gear easiest in position to get back on your board.
Option 1 : happens a lot when falling off at the end the jibe
Option 2 : happens more often when you lose balance or have a non planning catapult you try to safe.
Option 3 : is a great one for those who are struggling to turn still and want to turn around to the other side.
For practice I would say it’s easier to try these 3 options first in standing depth waters so it’s easier to understand the mechanics behind it all especially for option2.

Thank you! Yes I agree, I think 3a is sometimes good in case of bigger sails & issues with the clew sinking under water to often.

Hello toby, great idea but currently I don't have this in the planning but maybe in the future! Best out of my experience though is to swim either to the towards the top of the sail & swim upwind with it.. or to grab the board and start swimming down wind with it.. it's when you try to swim against the wind with the board it gets very difficult.
