Thanks for the great explination and the demonstration. Basically this replaced the 2x and 4x crop that I had on my G9. I thought they had taken away the feature but it just changed a bit and got renamed.
No problem, great to hear you found it useful 👍
Thank you this is truly helpful
Thank you, great to hear you found it useful 👍
Thank you for your work.
No problem, thanks I appreciate it 👍
Sorry if I didn't really understand but... is the pixel by pixel a "digital zoom".... I mean.... would it be the same crop that 66-67% in FHD, for example, in the editing post production? Thanks
Hi, no problem. So the camera is essentially cropping into the sensor, so you wouldn't get the kind of quality loss you get in digital zoom. But the image will no longer be oversampled, so it is a slightly less detailed image but the same resolution/size. But yes you could technically shoot 5.8k and crop it to HD in post to achieve the same effect. Here is an example of it working 👉 th-cam.com/video/qbThQrH1V_s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PUEBULrlyxuz7WD0
Does the ois turn off when pixel/pixel is active? I tried it out today and the reach is insane but i really struggled handheld. I'm definitely going to want my tripod for it
No the IBIS and lens stabilisation should still be working but the more zoomed in you are the more you notice the movement. You can try using the Boost IS feature if you are handheld but trying to just shoot one specific area and not moving during the shot.
Thank you! I'll try the boost IS and practice! I was at 400mm trying to get a Bald Eagle 1/8th mile away
@@joesjourney9986 No problem, wow that is quite some distance. I have managed a few stable shots at around 300mm. It is easy to introduce shakes and jitters at those types of focus lengths even with Dual IS. You could even try the e-stabilisation feature to see if that helps if you are struggling to keep the shot steady. Good luck, sounds like you are going to get some great footage!
