- Red-brow finches are native to the Australian east-coast and like all Estrildid finches are full of character. A small bird constantly is on the move, challenging for the photographer. This video describes the red-brow behavior. Enjoy.
Finches are cute.
I love Australian finches!
Yeeah
I recently walked the trails around Myponga reservoir in South Australia and I feel that a flock of these birds were present on part of the path

Aussie finches are one of my favorites, i had some in a small aviary when I was a kid.
I enjoy it whenever I see wild finches because you don't really see them as often as things like wrens or noisy miners.

so Beautiful 🥰
So beautiful and great info
Thank you for this beautyful video. I love Australian finches. I would like to watch some video about Gouldian finch.
I have three of these that come to my bathroom window every day ATM. They live in the grass of my dam. They are very curious and don't mind water left on the window sill 😊😊

We seem on the coast south of Sydney to have a variant, seen in several places between the Shoalhaven and Tuross Rivers, in which general plumage is darker, more nondescript and red brows and rump are more elusive, though especially vivid when they are flying away from you with their undulant careening rush. They do not have the look of these birds on the web who seem to have come onstage with fresh makeup
We have a yard which is unmown, in the front completely given to shrubbery and ankle-calf length flowering live mulch, with elevated water bath. In the back, similar but more food plants. What distinguishes these and other tiny birds is that they generally arrive here in clouds of ten to twenty, visit only for a few minutes before dashing elsewhere. Illustrating a social joy and gadabout spirit.
