@@lmaonade. Not only that, but it probably was beyond stressful to miss those first two lifts. I can't even imagine how that gratification and relief of pressure felt. She was banking EVERYTHING on her last chance.
how devoid of meaning is your life that you cry over someone you don't know anything about lifting a weight in a qualifying round that they have lifted in competition several times before and doesn't even put her in the top 10 in her weight class?
for everyone wondering, she had to get at least 85 to to stay in contention for Paris. So, may as well give yourself at least 3 shots at it (is my guess at what the strategy was, and it does make some sense). yes, it's an aggressive weight, but why waste chances on less? it sounds like she worked up to at least 80 in warm up, so, just got for it.
the fact wannabe weighlifters who think they know shit because they are top 5 at their local gym saying you should build up as if they been at the top and trained top athletes for years is so funny. Not saying building up is wrong either, if it helps someone build up some confidence and they think its a better strategy thats totally fine as well. It's just a preference.
Actually, she was disqualified because even though she got the snatch, in the same competition failed the clean and jerk. She is out of the Paris Olympics.

I know this isn’t any kind of consolation for her but even if she had made her last cl&jk she still wouldn’t have qualified. Two other athletes passed her afterwards. Still the third attempt snatch save was outstanding and gave her fans hope for a little while longer. Terrific competitor.
Pwoah her elbow just held, that's insane, what a legend. I really didn't think she'd get it, the first two attempts were pretty severe failures. Very surprising, impressive work.
I really don't understand the team Italy strategy. Why they can't start at a low weight to build confidence in the athlete and then jump to heavier weights? I'm really sorry for Giulia, she has a great technique, but it seems that the pressure put in these athletes are too high for her.
This is probably the third competition she has bombed out on:what’s peculiar is that Sergio Massida has consistently improved,Pizzolato is basically maintaining,Magistris is doing OK,Misirendino is doing sub optimal whereas she is the ONLY Italian that is consistently bombing. Either she’s not listening to coaches,or they’re giving her bad advice or she’s doing her own thing.
Because in order to qualify She has to lift at least 85kg, so they prefer to start with the "maximum" weight, having 3 attempts. By the way, I agree with you, mentally speaking it can be a dangerous strategy.
I want to write my thoughts about Weightlifting House. I have been watching this channel for a while now. I think I joined just prior to Europeans this year.
