I've always said, he is a young guy, playing as a wing back (when he is a full back), at a new club and in a new country. He just needed some time to settle and understand his new role. Still needs some work but he's improved so much! COYS

Yer they seem to have forgotten the issues of Aurier who was really talented going forward but was almost as responsivle for us conceding goals as Samchez (well Sanchez is a lot lower level thsn Aurier)

@@Lee-re1by assume he means he had to play a more defensive role as opposed to say at the weekend when we're expected to take the game to leicester and he'll play much of the game more in a attacking role

Emerson had a great game, kept Grealish quite all night. Apart from giving away that one freekick he gave near the box (which couldn't have been avoided), he was flawless.
Looking at the tactics, not only was having dier stand a few yards in front of the other CBs work wonders but the plan to get inside the heads of grealish haaland lewis was spot on as well. Amazing execution. Btw, romero’s first yellow was worth it.
Romero's first yellow kept Haaland looking over his shoulder the whole game it was perfect
Even Romero's second yellow was worth it at the time but we'll see how it effects us at the weekend. Expecting son to score 3 outside the box 30 yard curlers vs Leicester

Emerson indebted to Conte for his entire lifetime. When everyone, the pundits, fans and amateur TH-camrs were against him, Conte keep putting faith on him and greatly improved Emerson
I love Emerson and have always believed in him since the start. He always had potential and it hurt to see my own fellow "fans" abuse him so much like he did something wrong. They didn't simply critique his errors and mistakes, they went as far as to abuse and hate on him. Concerning!!
But I am glad that it wasn't him who got sent on loan and had his contract later cut off. He's so good for us defensively, and still has the potential to be good going forward with enough work with Conte.
Nice to see that Porro and Royal will both be working for the position. And we have more than one competition to be playing in so it'll work out well ❤️
Yeah, same here. I always knew that emerson was able to do that. The abuse he took from fans was disgusting. I can see emerson remaining at this high level of performance. And he is just getting started.
Those pathetic so called fans did the same with Sissoko when he was playing out of position, soon as Poch put him in the pivot Sissoko was a different player and fans started singing his name, Emerson is not a RWB so he shouldn't be getting stick for learning a new position after one season.

Emerson is a good player.I'm not sure about his decision making at times and uncertain if we've seen his best yet, but i like him. He tries hard and has some real skill. Just want to see him develop some more. Think the new competition will help him if he lets it.

I think the fans know he can defend proper, it’s just the attacking flare that was missing.
We will appreciate him more, now that we have Porro on board.

He has been constant in insisting that he wants to play for Spurs, and with commitment. I have been a quiet critic, not an abuser, but I'm now so glad we can clearly see all his quality, he was man of the match by far on Sunday. He and Porro will be a very good duo as they bring complementary strengths. In all the training videos he's maintained a smile on his face, and once again Conte shows he knows what he is doing.
