FYI: I mention same uptop but wanted to put here as well: In the video, i say that the Kenny Burrell version is cool cuz he uses 16th note triplets on the head. Actually, so does Dizzy Gillespie in his original recording-it just doesn’t look like it’s written that way to me🤷♂️Jazz-Skool-Nerds! Help a brother out! 🤷♂️
thanks brother yeah you know I thought it was Latin too and then I went back and looked at the setting and it’s actually something called blue note under the jazz section so I think it’s more of like a sidewinder like a Lee Morgan sidewinder type of groove, but it does sound like more like a Boogaloo I guess
