Your much appreciated brother for taking the time to teach us rookies how to properly maneuver these semi trucks backwards. Thanks a million and God bless
I bought a drone so I can have an overhead view when I'm backing if I got to do a blind side or something it'll be just like the video game but in reality also
Thanks for being kind and helping us, there is a lot of egos and nasty attitudes in trucking/ blue collar in general. I've kindly asked for advice many times, and just been completely ignored lol buts that's alright they're miserable, and I am not, so have a great day!
I bought the game a couple of months ago, never been in a truck before, I played almost all the levels on my iPad, watched every single video you on TH-cam and TikTok I went to a small trucking school got my CDL got a job last week, if it wasn’t for you there is no way I would’ve passed DMV test and training in my new job, cannot thank you enough! I think it’s a great idea to team up with Trucker Path I already got the app it’s really good and I would definitely pay more for it if there’s a link to these difficult alley docks. Thank you 🙏
Your videos are amazing. Always interesting and full of useful tips. I am not a driver (only ets2) but my fav ones so far that I always use: - When starting backing, keep the steer straight to see how the trailer behaves and then adjust - When backing to straighten up and using the mirrors, similar to the "everything is opposite", steer towards the "problem" aka the mirror where you can see the trailer - Your awesome quote, WHEN IN DOUBT, GET OUT :p - the 12/9 rule for getting in position to back to a dock thanks for the time you invest in making these :)
I live in the springs, and know exactly where that place is. Very glad I never had to deliver there 😬 In the game you can see everything from up above - this is relatively simple. In real life - borderline impossible for some people, myself included. First thing I'd be doing is asking people move their cars.
I’ve only asked people to move their cars once and they were throwing a fit. I drive a full sleeper that used to be a flatbed so it’s about 73’ long, and they were saying that they get trucks in there all the time and they shouldn’t have to yadda yadda… before they got around it I was like “nah, I’m not gonna fit even if you move” and they ended up unloading me in the parking lot. I went back a few months later (to a different ground level door that I needed to be completely jacknifed to fit and was about 6” away from some vehicles opposite the door) and I was talking to one of the guys and he was like “pfft, we’ve never had more than a 48’ day cab in here, and even most of them can barely get it in the dock” and I looked across where the dock was and grass was absolutely destroyed by people making their own room. He complimented me getting in to the door I was in which felt pretty good lol
My one stipulation for Trucker Path: I use it daily, and it still gets it wrong sometimes. There are plenty of facilities with many entrances that are for first responders or employees only, and these can be flagged as the truck entrance on the app. As always, the easiest solution is to take a good look at your destination before leaving and make your best assessment. If you have a number for the facility, you can always call ahead and clarify.
Still like watching your vids, even after getting out of the industry completely. I do not miss the BS, but i miss the challenge of doing things i've never experienced before. Ah well, not worth the risk. Take it easy.
I've had to do a few of these ones. It's kind of scary because as you enter that lot, you don't know what obstacles are there, and where they are. I know I know . . . one might say "just back up out of there". . . problem is though, that if you have cars behind you that are ALSO entering, what do they do ?. . . they ALWAYS get right on your bumper and tailgate you as you go in. Many times as I'm doing my setup [and YES I have my 4-way flashers on], I find I have to set my brakes and get out to tell the guy to backup and/or go around because I'm going to that dock there [gesturing to dock]. . . then they get all upset you're making them wait 30 seconds of their precious day *eyeroll*
Dude, i love your app. Btw, is there a PC version? Is there anyway u can superimpose the infamously shitty and nationally hated AMAZON FTW1 warehouse in Dallas, TX??? That place is a nightmare. Regarding Trucker Path, it’s such a useful tool that I have said “I don’t even consider paying for it an actual expense, because it’s so necessary” between paying for showers or Trucker Path, I’d smell bad.
Not an easy back at all. Man, i can’t imagine a newer driver attempting to take on this back. Not that it happens, but i think companies should give heads up to the drivers on such difficult backing scenarios. Maybe recommend them to this channel/video? Or maybe have like a printout/blueprint on how to get it done. For newer drivers, extremely difficult backs like this need some explaining to do. Great video btw🚛😎
I should team up with Trucker Path, when they click on the customer to see what's going on there, they would have a link to a video of me doing it in my game??
@@MyTruckingSkills That’s brilliant. If i were you i would send them an email introduce them to your channel and propose such great idea. It’s a win win all around. Plus you already have the system in place w your own game and the platform w TH-cam to publish each particular scenario. Absolutely brilliant idea. They could even charge more for drivers to have access to your backing videos to all of the particular scenarios. @@Alexander-in1hv It would blow up man, I’m telling you. I would have used it myself if i knew there was such feature. Gladly pay extra for it too. In my opinion, everyone needs help at backing at some point or another. Well, it is the hardest part of the job after all.
Got back in to trucking after a 10+ years hiatus, your game and videos helped me majorly to get all the rust off my skills. I thank you. Have you done anything on trailers with rear steering axels? the extra swing of the rear is quite a thing. any advice?
You need to be wary of 'getting close' to something in order to maximise swing room. When you suddenly turn the unit hard the rear of the trailer will kick out quite a bit more than you expect. I recall driving across the front of a row of parked trailers and whipping the unit round ready to back into a space and the rear of the trailer actually clipped the front of the one next to the space. That came as a shock to me, lesson learnt. Even in fairly tight spaces a rear steer trailer will rotate the back axles far quicker than a standard so I got into the habit of setting up more or less in the middle of a space rather than trying to get close on the drive side then turning hard to set up.
Yet my concern is, HOW DO I KNOW I WON’T HIT THOSE DAMN CARS with the swing of my trailer. What are the reference points or what’s the interval between them and my trailer? I’d appreciate if you make another video answering that question . Thank you
You should update the game to make the truck manual in which we will have to shift correctly. And if not then we get the tranny messed up and we will have to pay to fix it. It’ll be more fun to play. Btw, best game ever. 🙏

I downloaded your game for 10 dollars. The cdl parallel parking practice is going to make the difference on my next test attempt. I don't think I have access to this sort of stuff do I? Also, I was wondering why you would drive close to the cars first thus allowing the possibility for the trailer to swipe something back in your blind spots? Why not come in with the tractor as far to the outside of the lot as possible, so you can negotiate around the cars while they are in front of you, and the back of the trailer would only be swinging over the back side of the lot nowhere near any obstacles?
