  • Whether you're already a talented piano and keyboard player or still learning, there's no better option than the Casio CT-S500 Casiotone Portable Electronic Keyboard. Featuring an amazing 800 different AiX Sound Source tones (voices) and over 240 different backing rhythms, it also offers 6-track MIDI recording, on-device memory of 40,000 notes, headphone support, 1/4" plug support, and lots more. Also reviewed: The Casio WU-BT01 Bluetooth/MIDI Adapter, great if you want to hook into a music source while on stage. Note: Currently the WU-BT01 is included free in the CT-S500 box!
    Check out both the keyboard and adapter at: www.Casio.com/

    Thanks for the review. Mine is already on order, and on it's way. Just discovered it the other day, and my local music shop had a good line on it. Noted that on Casio's CT-S500 page it says "Includes WU-BT01 Bluetooth MIDI/Audio adapter"'. I will never use mine, but I thought folks should know this.

    Excellent review of the key board .. I own the 410 and that is also a great keyboard... Casio thank you for donating the keyboard to his friend that lost everything in a fire.. Lee

    I have one for about 3 weeks now-- for about 400 bucks -it's fun laying in bed-head up against the wall and putting it on your lap -run it on batteries and practice --

    Great review, liked and subscribed! I'm a guitarist looking to noodle around on a piano, would you recommend this CT-S500 or just the CT-S1. This one definitely looks cooler and who cares if it has a bunch of functions that I'll likely never use :)

      I think that's the state of modern electronic-enhanced instruments; a lot of functions people never use. 🙂

    Nice post thank you. Is there a way to assign one of the front panel buttons to function as octave shift key for quick on the fly octave shifting as I often need this for 61 keys? User manual shows 3 or 4 functions needed to do this which seems crazy. Thx Isaac M

    The first rythm was the InXs song that made them famous.

      Ahhhh I didn't catch that. But which song made INXS famous? "Suicide Blonde"? "Need You Tonight"? "Original Sin"?

    Two questions: Does it have the sound of Thriller/The Final Countdown/Jump synth ? (Brass if I'm not mistaken, or whatever sound of synth that sounds almost the same) And can it split into 2 different instruments ?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea if it has a specific voice that you seek or not, but I believe it does have a two-voice split option for the lower portion of the keyboard to be in one voice and the upper in another. You should be able to dig up the manual online with a quick Google search if you want to read up on every feature!

      Yeah it does, the very first brass synth sound is almost identical to Jump, and there is a split feature

    Nothing on the nature and weight of the keys.

      True. Didn't think of talking about that, but that seems more like an in-person evaluation that's going to be different for each person.
