The big flaw of the JBL is that there is no way to adjust the sound signature through EQs as in most phones now a days EQ do not work over bluetooth. So you have to literally wire your phone to use the EQ of your phone's music app. But Sony allows EQ adjustments with their proprietary app which is very important to me. Sony is actually doing better with these new releases. They evolved out of that 100hz bass that they're used to be. Though JBL still beats it in loudness for bass. Actually loudness overall based on this video.
@DJ WRAITH well.. differentiating the XB's vs. the XP's gives me the idea of improvement from them. They are still getting better each time. But they don't have any chance with most of the other competitors. Positively speaking, i like how they're improving as time flies.
Hmm I went in to best buy and heard both speakers. The Sony speaker sounded just like the jbl he's comparing, it was loud!. In fact, the Sony speaker in my opinion, sounded much nicer than the jbl.
Sound test in store….XP500 sounds way better. Fellow listeners agree. How is this? Bass sounds stronger too. How can this be? You are correct about lower volume. Its still plenty loud for an indoor area.
I ended up going with the XB700 for my outdoor back deck/fire pit/garage speaker. I like that you can use it in a horizontal orientation and get better stereo separation (this is the way I use it most of the time). I mostly listen to classic rock, modern rock, county, and instrumental music and the Sony sounds great playing these genres. The volume the XB700 cranks out is incredible, especially when plugged into an outlet you get a solid 20% or maybe 25% boost. Even on running it on battery and living on an acre of land, more than 1/2 volume approaches loudness levels that would greatly disturb the neighborhood. If the PB310 featured stereo separation in a horizontal position, I might have went that route since I've had great luck with all my other JBL speakers and commercial amplifiers. The PB300 had stereo feature horizontally positioned with 3rd tweeter but they got rid of it with the 310 and only have two tweeters up top.
Thats a valid point, but still I wouldn't choose the sony just because of the stereo separation. You listen to this speakers from a fair bit of distance if you have them playing loud so the stereo becomes much less aparent, and the bass of the pb310 is sooo much important for me at least. I heard both on a store and there was no comparison, the pb310 literally shaked the walls and stands of the store! It was AMAZING, I want one now.

Thank you for this awesome review. I wonder if you have replayed the same sound test whith both plugged into AC outlet. If so, does Sony bass has any improvement? Just a few other things maybe worht noting: - Sony has LDAC while JBL doesn't. Interest to know if this make any difference when playing WAV audio files on both. - For obscure reason, Sony limit usb flash to 2000 songs max (per owner's manual) while JBL doesn't state anything alike in their manual which I assume is limitless.
Well I'm not the guy who made this video but I can answer some of your questions. I have a Partybox 110 and my sister recently got a Sony XP500 for her birthday. I will be 100% honest with you, the Sony playing music running from its internal battery at max volume is like a partybox 110 playing music at 60% or maybe even less. Yes, it is that quiet.. I really don't know why Sony did this.. I can only think of one thing and it's for getting more hours playing music (very bad idea in my opinion), talking about LDAC my samsung s10 has that codec and well, sound quality is just good. I thought it was going to sound better than my pb but nope, It's just not at JBL level, bass is also not that great... (I didnt like it, it doesnt feel natural, like it feels so weird maybe its because my ears like JBL bass or H/K (I have one Aura Studio 3 too and that speaker blows the Sony away which is crazy for it's size). The only good thing I can think about the Sony is that when you connect it to main power outlet it boosts it's volume and then the difference is not so big vs the pb. But still! Even in that mode, JBL goes a bit higher at max volume, not by much though. So yeah. Kinda dissapointed with Sony because I'm a fan of the brand and the speaker looks dope and feels very premium. But I can't recommend you to buy it. (Or anyone who is reading this). When someone buys these type of bluetooth speakers (or at least me) It's for using it outdoors/portable mode, because thats the thing to be portable, right? If the XP500 had the volume output power when its in battery mode, as it is when its plugged in to A/C power then I would recommend it, but sadly it isnt the case. Cheers I hope Ive helped 👍
@@MB2kbps Thank you so much for your feedback. Per your input on ldac, watching similar reviews and no limits numbers of songs, will definitely go with PB for the time being. Will also get XP500 as well should Sony remove 2000 songs limits as I feel the vocal, mid and high sounds clearer on the XP500.
@@mcadutub Im glad I could help✌️the good call and safest bet is to go with Partybox, 110 or 100, believe me. Just the max volume issue itself from the XP500 makes the Sony speaker a bad choice in my opinion, its just too expensive for the little sound you get, even a no name brand generic $100 bluetooth speaker is louder than the XP500… If you dont like the sound profile from JBL and still want a Sony then I would recommend others, like the XP700, or the MHC series v72,v82,v90,etc. Also, dont get fooled by listening to speakers in videos because they DONT sound the same, go and try to test them in a real store in person, because let me be clear about this, sound quality (mids, highs and bass) is NOT even close vs. The 110. The JBL is just in another level, I know sound is a subjective thing but even my friends & family who tested both speakers agreed with me. And please, do not listen to youtubers who are paid by brands to review their products (willington is an exception because he always tells the truth and is very serious) but I have seen a lot of these videos from "trusted tech reviewers" saying things like the xp500 is great for big parties and has this "huge" filling sound with amazing bass and blah blah.. they are straight lying or they have not listened to a real PA loud speaker in their lives. I really dont know if they are just trolling people at this point.
Just had at home Sony XP500 and JBL Partybox 110. Which one is better? The answer is simple : JBL Partybox 110 sounds like an annoying, big piece of loud garbage. Sony XP500 - sounds like a luxury speaker with an amazing balance, bass etc. If you want loud annoying party music, buy Partybox 110. If you want to listen to the music, buy Sony XP 500. Btw, this is my first ever youtube comment, 100% honest. Just don't understand how anyone would prefer JBL Partybox 110, over Sony XP500. This is like driving an old annoying and loud car (JBL Partyboox) or a luxury new car (XP500).
Probably an unpaid sony bot lol. Everything you wrote here is complete crap and bs, your'e the only one thinking like that. Sony is flat sounding, deep bass lacking piece of junk. While the jbl actually is so opened and powerful sounding. Clown
Listening with my home system with active sub.. 😁 Jbl sounds bigger with deep bass. Maybe the sony just needs a little tweaking with their music center app like the xb series.
Feel like the jbl fans just praising jbl without technically breaking down the sound. They havent even heard the speakers side by side. id go with Sony between these 2. I like it when my sound sounds whole like it was mastered well/boujee the jbls sounds distorted. quality over quantity and the sony is still loud. I like the jbl when it comes to other comparisons like the flip 5 and the xb23.The bass boost is way sicker on the jbl though by miles
Jbl does not sound distorted at all, youre an example of someone who didnt listen to them side by side. This entire XP,XG,XE line up is a mega fail for sony, they are having 0 deep bass and only mids, muffled and covered. Sony is a fail.
Its clear that the jbl has more definition to the sound, the bass is richer and deeper, sounds brighter, will fill big spaces better and will be heard outdoors way better.
Hmm if you ain't a crazy audiophile who spends thousands on systems then sure but even then you can get some better systems for probably the same prices
Bass level 1 on jbl Partybox 100 beats mega bass ALOT and just so you know there is a second bass level for jbl pb 100 so it’ll get like 3x better bass
Basically the JBL PB100 is the Daddy. New boys come and boast but in the end we still find the PB100 to be a better (nicer sounding, fuller, more open, deeper, etc.) speaker than the new guys. I have 2 PB100s and I enjoy their sound quite a lot. I've bumped up the treble by 3-4db after 10khz as I wanted more "zing". I will not change the PB100s for the new model as these give me exactly what I want.
The 43 is more portable than the xp500 but the sound is not so good compared to xp500 because the size the 43 wheights 3 kg and the xp500 12 kg I recommend 43 but I am going to buy a xp500 or 2 times the 43 .
Very Similar at 60% but the PB 100 is just a tab Stronger in the Bass.

- Sony has LDAC while JBL doesn't.
Which of these speakers recomend to buy??
Depends of your smartphone with LDAC codec is the Sony xp500 definitely the best choice and you have an Equalizer by Sony .
I love Jbl is Kinggg speaker in the world
Please outdoor test
Need outdoor soundsamples...
Sony mean for natural sound n jbl mean for loud😂
What about the watts ?
Sony best sound I am using best sound
No
JBL Partybox 110 is coming, JBL Partybox 100 is outdated.
Yes Probably😬
I doubt if the pb110 is gonna have any improvements exept the RGB , tweeter location and bluetooth version.
@@shoerice5083 yes
Ok
@@AWESOMEJBL-ex8xf not really
Same sized drivers and wattage, same frequency response, same battery
Clown
Seems like you bought the XP500 and dont have the PB110. Condolence to you 😭
Bro the partybox has more wattage and bigger bass. What u on about
if the party is indoor you can connect the Partybox to AC and get even more power. Not even a comparison
True, its so much power extra then i use it all the time
Also for sony
All I’m seeing is if you love bass but jbl speakers…got it
I think I'm first😉
Yess 😲🎉👏😂
can you compare the xp500 to the xp700 maybe?
🤣 really
jbl awesome sound👍️👍️wow
Listening with my home system with active sub.. 😁
Jbl sounds bigger with deep bass. Maybe the sony just needs a little tweaking with their music center app like the xb series.
Can't wait to see the partybox 110
Excelent expleint, for me winner is JBL100
I like clear sound Sony.Jbl like to , jbl big speed clear basse.
JBL still win....
Sony not for outdoor party. I like jbl sound
Sony sucks in the most of the speakers..
Finally you can hear highs on sony speakers....and where is song sun in glasgow
Ur life is a fail @@shoerice5083
JBL is the top of my favorite audio systems!
Thanks baby
😂😂😂😂 sony is buffering...ptb is win at all its a beast!!!!!
Can’t wait for the pb 110 to demolish the Sony Xp 500
Idk the 100 seems good but sometimes they don't always sound louder or have more bass then their predecessors
Only anvantage of the SONY is the weight.
The look toot
In my opinion, Party Box 100 won

Sony xb 43 or xp500 help
The 43 is more portable than the xp500 but the sound is not so good compared to xp500 because the size the 43 wheights 3 kg and the xp500 12 kg I recommend 43 but I am going to buy a xp500 or 2 times the 43 .
