    The Goddess Networks Interviews
Mama Zogbe: Chief Hounon Mami Wata Vodoun Amengansie Priestess
    She discusses her book:
The Sibyls: The First Prophetess of Mami (Wata)-The Theft of African Prophecy by the Catholic Church
For 6,000 years, Africa was ruled by a powerful order of Sibyl matriarchs. They produced the world's first oracles, prophetess and prophets. known as "Pythoness," they worked the oracles in the Black Egyptian colonies in ancient Greece, Rome, Turkey, Israel, Syria and Babylon. Their holy temples were more numerous than the churches of today. In ancient Rome, they first established the "holy seat" of the Vatican advising the world's heads of state. Centuries before Christ, they cured epileptics, the blind, lepers and casted out demons. It was a Sibyl who called-up the spirit of "Apostle" Samuel. Their "pagan" prophecies were used by the emerging Roman papals to create a western theological foundation and became the undisputed precursor for their Christian Bible. African women's religious history is finally being unearthed, exposing shocking revelations buried for more than 2000 years.

Think you need to read her books to understand what she is saying. The Vodou religion is about as "Afro-pagan" as one can get. It is one thing to read books. It's quite another to walk the path. peace.

I don't think the African is confused about his cosmology because I know many Africans who claim to be Christians but when they have problems they WILL resort to their Medicines. They seem to mix up the two. It seems to be that African Americans are the ones who don't seem to have another outlet. And why is it so hard to know and study African centered Religions? There is ALWAYS SOME KIND OF SECRECY. You have to be initiated into this or that. Large sums of money have to spent to know this or that. It seems to me to be that to know anyting
African is so expensive. I have a book on the Obi Abata and the Ifa. I paid not more than twenty bucks for the book now I see it on Amazon for TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR DOLLARS!! Amazing!! I think if African Cosmology can find it's way into the Mainstream somehow many more would really inquire and study it. It is just TOO SECRET!! I know MANY HISPANICS who know more about the Yoruba Religion of the Orishas than ALL THE BLACK PEOPLE I KNOW!! AMAZING!! They know the stories, colors, food, prayers, numbers. When I go into the Botanicas they are ALL Spanish speaking and they act like "what are you doing in here?" They are vague when Questions are asked and alot of the ritual tools are in Spanish.
Also why should you not be menstuating? All life is from the blood. Thank You. Injoy!!
