Nice presentation but you appear not to know the origin of some of the practices of what you are in describing in the New world as I see many things you describe belonging to other West African ethnic groups. "Legba" in the dance you describe in Surinam is Yoruba. I see a lot of Yemaja and Osun and Ogun (god of Iron) spiritual practices in what you are describing. Those are not of Igbo but Yoruba. The Fon in Benin (formally Dahomey) is a subset of the Yoruba people.

How do you know are you Igbo. A lot of African ethnic group have Sea or river deities not only Yorubas. The popular city of Asaba is named after the river deity Ahaba.

Igbo and Fon cultural forms were evident in a single song in Carriacou, Grenada. It's important to consider the blend of multiple African cultures that emerge in the Caribbean and elsewhere.
