E, I would love that sheet you were cutting out of. It has a lot of pretties on it. My friend says that she uses her scan-n-cut for a lot of fussy cutting and really it for that. She was going to show me and then Covid came about. She lives in Southern Oregon and I live in Northern so we haven’t gotten together. Sure am glad your family is doing better. It is so scary when your loved ones get so sick. Continued prayers. I was evacuated from my home but was able to come 2 days later. Stay in my house as the air quality is so bad. The fires are roaring rampid. Still on level 2 so my clothes are packed in a bag by my door. Hugs & blessings💝💝
I live in Damascus and continue to hold at level 3. Ugh, the air is worse today than yesterday. It would be fun to meet another crafter and get a coffee when this is over. Let me know if you’re interested.

I have decided to do a deck for each of my confirmands with a memory verse on the back. 52 cards in a deck 52 weeks in a year.
Another great idea Ms E! I’ll have to try it. I could tell by your voice that everyone must be doing better because there was happiness in you that was missing in your last few videos. The only person so far that has COVID-19 has been my son in law who’s a policeman. He also recovered after quarantine. Whew, a big sigh ha that the worst is over? Hopefully your husband will be chasing you around the kitchen table soon. LOL
Just watching this video today. Haven’t even finished it yet. But as I watched you put the red scrapbooking paper on the front and back of the card, I had a thought that instead of gluing the scrapbook paper to both sides of the card, how about making a miniature writing notebook journal sort of things. Fold the scrapbook paper around the card so it fits and covers up both sides of the card. If you like add in a few more “pages” of plain paper for journaling or use it as a notepad. Then either glue , sew or staple your “signature” in with the card as your center of the signature. That way when somebody opens up their miniature journal they will get a surprise to see that it is made from old playing cards!
BTW, I just heard that your daughter and son in law are getting over the virus. I refuse to call it by a name because I am determined to reject it!
I really like these! Guess the next time my hubby takes me to the flea market I'm going to be looking for playing cards! I am so happy to hear your voice sounding more like yourself!! There's nothing like having our children get better to lift our spirits.

*as you know art can be a refuge and a place to retreat to while the rest of the world spirals further into the maelstrom of insanity...card collage has been one of the islands of solace i visit frequently...in fact in the past i've bought several scrapbooking collection books and both black and brown card stock then had them all cut to 2.5 X 3.5 just to have them on hand when i'm overcome with the need to create them...i like to take the scrapbooking bits then tear them in different ways then burn the edges before reassembling them...i glue them down when i'm satisfied with the overall aesthetics then it's time for a few coats of a workable fixative then some preservative varnish...i literally have hundreds if not a thousand or so of card collage or artist trading cards...all different...all of them tell a story*

Oh I hate it when I can’t get the jars open I have to have my husband open it! A nice lady on TH-cam said to clean it off and put Vaseline on the edge and where the threads are, it WORKS! Just thought I’d share with you, I have done all my jars.
Plenty of playing cards...plenty of scrape paper...now, I need plenty of time and more motivation.....😻
Passage or names, magnets, ribbons to put on Christmas tree . book markers...they are too bueatiful to stay hidden. I also recommend little gift pockets at Christmas. A surprise in every pocket...tickets to an event, gift cards, etc. They are lovely. Thank you for sharing. : )

Hi Ms E. The cards are really cute. I do have a Brother Scan n Cut. I am learning but so far I really love it. Been taking tutorials from Papered Chef. Very good teacher. I like it better than my Cricut. Can really fussy cut with it. Don’t need WiFi with it.

I love my Brother SNC, I hate fussy cutting too and that's why I bought one. Unlike the other machines, no monthly subscription needed should you ever need access to design software (canvas space for SCN). I have the model with an auto blade. Miss E in regards to the Brother Scan n Cut it is REALLY AWESOME especially the new Models, as they are now with WIFI and have a lot of lovely patterns installed in it.
I have a blue one CM550. When I first got it I had a quick play and fell in luve with it, there was sooooo much it could do.... but unfortunately I haven't had the time to re play with it...
at the moment, but I plan to eventually....Brother also gives you free update by going into their web page and following the prompts you can upload it by using a USB stick. If you are computer savvy they have a program called CANVAS which can also do amazing things ... Check out some videos on You Tube on how it works, you will be amazed....

Thanks for the reminder to subscribe. I watch your videos so often that I thought I was subscribed. I hear creators apologize or worried about asking people to subscribe but honestly the reminder helps. If people get sick of hearing it they should remember that at some point they didn't know how things worked and appreciated that information or at least subscribed at some point because someone pointed it out. I am surprised no one has mentioned using these lil altered playing cards as gift card/gift money holders inside birthday cards! They could either be attached or just placed inside to be removed as little "extra goodies." Even if a person doesn't make her own birthday cards, these little pocket card inserts would make commercial cards personal, special, and unique -- I'm thinking. Love your videos, Eve. I have watched several during breaks at work, but now that I am at my home computer, I can subscribe!

Scan n cut is the greatest. I have the DX230. Yes, scan your object and then cut it out is one of the many features. You will love it.

These altered playing cards are adorable. You have inspired me to give it a try. I don’t have a Scan n cut, but I did look at them and they are supposed to fussy cut. I'm getting ready to watch the video, but probably on my tv where I can't leave comments. How are you and your husband doing? I'm praying for you, because I know God is real and I know prayers work. Also, I have to tell you, we are moving in the next month or so, depends on the "illness" -- but I'm not doing anything but using your "freebie" (thank you so so much for that) of the little folding gate, and your very smart idea to print over image -- I'm working on several journals now, and one of the things I'm doing is leaving little bits of ephemera tucked in hidden pockets and flips, etc. One really fun thing is to put a few small tags from pretty papers and also, I purchased one of the rounded or "whale tail" punches on eBay recently -- 85 bucks plus postage, and it's the best purchase ever. I love it, and so I punched out a bunch of those and am hiding them all over the journal -- so, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you so much. Don't fret about your husband -- God's got him !!! I have the brother scan and cut dx 225, I *ADORE* my machine. You should be able to cut your pieces out with the machine. Lot's of online resources!

Just found your channel and subbied. I love my scan n cut. Have researched prior on other machines. And yes the scan n cut would cut out the butterflies easy. I love what you have done with the playing cards. It's inspiring me to buy a pack lol.
