You sir are a legend, thank you! Both my seat covers on my A3 fell off randomly within one week. I followed your instructions and now the seats are back in business!

    Steven,
Thanks for your video. I was about to spend $200 for a new seatback when I saw your video. I finished the repair on my C6 A6 this weekend. I did have to order new clips. I mangled the clips badly taking them out and broke two putting the seat cover back in.
If you need clips, it is best to order the clips online. The dealer wanted $10 each for the clips. I ordered them from a VW dealer for $1.89 each. The cost of 10 clips and postage was less than 3 clips from the dealer. lol
I tried some epoxy first as I had it in the house. The epoxy did not hold at all. It never seemed to get hard. Perhaps, I did not mix it well enough. I used Gorilla Superglue on my second attempt. That did a lot better. Hopefully, it will hold.

@@vocalone23 It was a VW dealer in Wisconsin. The website is www.myvwpart.com/. The part number for the clips is 8Z0867276

I have the same vehicle and I seemed to have lost that black plastic bar at the top 😭

@@ruliz3 That is not good. I don't think that you can buy that piece separately. You would likely need to buy the complete "Seat Back Panel". If you can get the panel in the correct color, it is likely to be close to $300.

Many thanks - A6 2010 and A3 2008. Very common problem. I tried Tesa tape but now I know how the plastic bracket slides off I'm sure I can make a better job this time.

Excellent video, thank you. I have buyers coming to see my A3 and the back of my drivers seat just fell off 😒 I've now cleaned, sanded, and super glued it, now I'm waiting for it to set.

Thanks for the video. I paid a upholstery shop to do this last year but it came apart within a couple of weeks. I'll try this next.

Brilliant ! I looked forever for a way to fix my seat back from coming off. This worked perfectly ! I was unable to fine Sica glue so I used Gorilla Super Glue Precise Gel. 24 hours in clamps did the trick. Couldn't be happier !
