African girl at the front was a natural. They aIl made a great effort but she was a standout both in her natural interpretation of the moves and the joy on her face from dancing. It's nice to see people of different cultures take a interest in other cultures. They should make an African dance "Zumba style" workout out of these moves!
As a mixed race African American it makes me really happy to see such a diverse group of dancers all coming together to perform this beautiful dance! They all did so well and they looked like they had fun too!
I don't know why, but this brought me to tears. I haven't cried for a long while and I was just watching this video in the background, but when they started singing, it was as if they was declaring "I am here" as if the people that came before us and the skills and gifts they have are being passed on and valued. Its beautiful.
Thank you so much we at Ralph J Bunche Elementary School on this week 27, we are having a School Wide Black History Program an the dance kids we are doing West African Dance and you taught us how to be are self and be natural and thank you for the last time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can't tell the authentic African dancer especially with the choreography at 1:10. The others look like they're twerking while she's just moving in a tribal way.
i love my black honey coated skin, i wouldn't trade it for the world, even with our new president we need to keep the black power, i am a lot of things from africa, nigerian,im also from Zimbabwe, etc. i am learning this dance first because of black history month is coming and because i want to know more from where i come from
Lauryn Saucier Very well said, always keep your culture alive. Us Natives try to keep our culture alive by telling our children, grandchildren and so on. Stay strong no matter who is in the White House. 😊
This dance looks really fun! We all are mixed now and share each other’s cultures... I don’t mind.. plus we all have the freedom to learn whatever we want so we might as well take full advantage ... with ❤️
amazing chereogeraphy……I thimk every body made a great effort and it came out really beautifully amazing to see different cultures coming and having funa and DANCING!!!!!!I just keep watching this video and I have showed almost all of my friends....this is the REAL DANCE...….my conclusion is that the whole thing was done awesomelly
Nice performance, the beat was on point. I like when a woman can dance to the rhythm of a beat. Despite it being a group dance, u can see her uniqueness.
When you take a little bit of culture from each country, you become a global citizen. This is beautiful to see and this opens minds and hearts. Peace and love
Everyone did it terrific, but I couldn't avoid overwatching the guy with the blue and red striped kaftan; at the middle of the dance he looks like as if he got "on fire" and started to dance more self-confident and even the girl at his left looked at him and smile with him. He -and of course the whole group- really enjoyed it. There's no other way!! Nice!! :D
How sad about an African or any other culture not wanting to share. I’m n old white English great grandma n one thing I’ve learned. Music, dance n arts are the international language of love. Please do share it brings people together. Do remember as I do a saying my old mum used to say, two wrongs do not make a right. Big hug from your pinky, white sister. Now share n enjoy and appreciate, I do. We’re all the same colour in the crematorium.xxxxxxx
Because every culture that has shared with your kind ends up robbed or killed 🙄 and how privileged you have to be to say “two wrongs don’t make a right” implying we should except all y’all “wrongs”
Amarisa da Silva The rhythm's name is Sinte. I've been trying to find it on internet but it has been very hard. Nothing as good as live percussion 😖. Greetings from Colombia :)
So basically, my high school is performing an Around the World show to respect all the countries' forms of dance. I was tasked with African and I am so grateful for this dance! This looks absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait for the crowd to see this!
Hi,i am from Taiwan,i love djembe and teach djembe.i like this song you sing in this viedo,Could you let me know what is the meaning of this song "weiyala ye ye weiyala ",,,,Hope to hear the answer soon, and I really love this dance , very happy and very attractive!
The men killed it and the 2 women at the front did well the one in the left hand corner and left center and right corner they did very well! They had those curves that really brought out the moves! Who said white people can dance because they sure can!! Dance is learnt and your colour doesn't determine your ability to learn!
IT WORKS! xD xD *whew!* watched it at half- and quarter-speed several times before trying at normal speed. still not quite got it but owwwwch my body, in the best way!
So fun, but the woman on the left front really stood out!! She was amazing, so smooth! - She should be a pro! Beautiful! Beautiful! Now where's the men's group!😊
I'm curious... does anyone know the title of this song or the call and response? I'm hoping to show this to a class of children and would love to know more about the song. Beautiful dancing by the way!
I might do a little bit of this tomorrow get to move and you know get my blood flow yes indeed that's what I mean about step on it, light on your feet. 😊👋🏼
Bravo.....nosotros tambien somos descendientes de africanos y cuanto llevamos haxua adelante la cultura africana..cuanto nis gusta..son bailes que invitan a cualquiera jajjaja
Dark skinned girl in the front in the blue stripes is GORGEOUS and an amazing dancer. And they all look like they're having fun! Great job to all.
Yassssss, she was AMAZING, I tried BUT my eye couldn't stop watching her!! Bravo all!❤❤❤❤❤💃❤❤❤❤❤
She makes it look easy. I also like the guy with stripes behind her. He's really into it.
Came here to say exactly that. Mesmerizing smile and beautiful dancer! Couldn't take my eyes off her.
I do feel bad for the girl on the far left who was chopped out of the frame :(
Name of the song. Somebody know?????
