    Hi, I have the same scooter. Bought it in 2019 and have approx 2200 kms on it. If you cannot store it in an enclosed garage highly recommend using a very large motorcycle cover or similar. I use it year round to protect from heat extremes. I did not use the cover for about 1.5 yrs (I was lazy) and regret it. Batteries definitely impacted more then when it was covered. The interior faded a bit and the front and back light covers became “foggy”. The color “wrapping” was damaged from when I did not cover it and starting to peel off. I just had the original batteries replaced, the brakes fixed and more. The steering was very stiff but now works great again! This scooter gives me so much freedom to run errands, do groceries etc.

      I was storing a motorcycle 🏍 under a common blue plastic tarp & realized on hot summer days of 97F+ in full sun. The tarp was acting like a solar oven cooker & it was getting over 350F underneath. My digital engine temp gauge was reading like 365F when I pulled the tarp off & it's accurate. So I'm gonna switch to a waterproof light colored tent fabric motorcycle cover & keep in full shade. Even full sun for a couple hours was enough to get 350F.

      i actually remove my batteries in winter and charge them indoors. but if thats to much hassle then yes your advice is good. my batteries highly degraded here in the cold in the UK. it only got down to about -6 here but my ride time was very short no power in cold weather.

    The voltage drop under acceleration on those lead batteries is what's killing them. I would strongly recommend looking at LFP batteries. They're safe, lighter and will deliver far more power per weight.

    Wise choice of interior color that hides the typical transit dust particles that I expect to see in my black plastic interior of the Jinma J2 I recently had delivered without batteries installed. I might give the interior a removable vehicle wrap of another color or may hit it with some plastic based paint. Could easily wrap the interior panels in foam and put down a vinyl pleather material as a luxury sort of thing easily done on a budget, perhaps using recycled materials.
    Glad to see you getting practical use of it for grocery runs or music breaks down the at the waterfront etc.
    I want to convert mine into a decent sounding guitar amp for outdoor use in rural backyard or at parks.
    Your earlier video inspired me to follow through and get one down here in sw ontario.
    Rock on captain.

    An easy to extend range.....Woukd be to buy a small 1000w $300 inverter generator & put it in a small vented box. That attaches to back of scooter. The small inverter generators are super quiet. If you needed travel long distance like several errands all over town. You could turn on the generator before leaving. If this uses lead style batteries, keeping them always almost fully charged will make them last longer.

    These would be pretty awesome if they were hybrid. Since a 212cc engine is with a cvt drive is only about $350.....Make it rwd with 212cc cvt engine like a gokart with smooth acceleration up to 35mph...Use a good muffler to keep engine quiet & a fwd electric assist for steep hills & more traction when needed.... Then use electric only mode in stores & places where you don't wanna use gas. Use a few less batteries & recharge them off wall 🔌 plug or make it so the engine alternator/generator can recharge them.

      @@Dave7160 There are even some very affordable video camera options to consider, and there are even some interior rearview mirrors that have the ability to be a video display for the exterior cameras.
      We should research about the various suspension kits that easily adapt from other small vehicles, such as some can be fully adjusted for comfort.
      Not sure exactly why, but I had a VW Rabbit that was amazingly good at not transferring bumps on the road throughout the car. For a small car, it felt like it weighed way more than it actually did, lol.
      I am into music, so a entire redo of the mobile audio is on the list of mods to do to the J2 micro electric from Jinma that is now sitting in my garage waiting for its first battery to be installed at 60v. I want lithium and max the range and ability to run the air conditioner in summer and heating in winter plus music.
      I opted for a proper full size factory installed tow hitch that can easily haul a few 4x8 sheets of plywood, or perhaps a micro camper designed like a origami folding box.
      These are cool and practical and no issues with paying insurance due to its speed limitation tops out at 40km.
      I contacted several towns to get a understanding of if it was legal to use in canada, and its fine as long as your not driving it like a maniac, and to allow for other faster vehicles to pass so not to create long lines of traffic. This is basically what tons of local farmers do zipping back and forth to their various located farm fields sometimes miles away on a regular basis.
      I might add a disability type of sticker visible so other drivers might not expect me to go faster than I can. A orange triangle slow moving vehicle is also a good measure for visibility reasons. Maybe add a glowing LED lighting kit for the undercarriage. I found a bright one at walmart for 25 bux that can do color changes, and it becomes a groovy party lamp when you visit peoples
      places, during lawn ornament mode.
      Happy electric affordable motoring.

      Think using it on a sidewalk depends on how much "pedestrian conflict" there would be. Because of sidewalks being primarily for pedestrians, would opt to stop/slow and pull over, or ride on shoulder if sidewalks are particularly busy.
      This would be largely great for wide paved trails, though.

    Some advice...
    Check those batteries. One looks like a cheaper brand. Lead acid can overheat and bulge, but break open/explode? That is not normal. The electrical and mechanical components look to be on par with a very cheaply made scooter. If a person has a convenient environment... Smooth roads, low inclines, low traffic, easy charging, mild temperatures it could work. At 10K, it isn't competitive with other options.

    I was going to buy one of those things. Lady in our building has one. Then watched them on the roads and got in the way of traffic. Alot of cars took unsafe chances to pass them.
    Thankyou , but I will stay with my 3 wheel mobility scooter. Cars can get by me no prob and I can get on the sidewalk if needed. It gets up to 28kmph, so is par with the car. Put a big basket on back of seat for carrying. Range is same or more than the car. I can park and charge the scooter under my apt. window running a cord out my window. Which I can't with the car.
    The only plus I can see with the car is rainy days and storage you can lock up inside it and a little more room. But that lady has to charge it at charging stations, or walk three blocks to her son's home to charge it. She told me on cold says she freezes and hot days fries. I'm in Ontario as well so summers can be hot and winter gets put in heated storage which costs me $130 for the winter.
    A new scooter , top of the line is about $3500. The basic car is $8900 new. Also, I can take my scooter into stores to shop. Not so with that car. I still use my scooter from April to November. So use it seven months out of the year. I really can't condone paying an extra $5400 for one of those things.

    • @RunhorseEV-Annie999
      @RunhorseEV-Annie999 ปีที่แล้ว

      Such an electric tricycle has very little space, and there is no place to install an air conditioner. In summer you can install a small fan, that will help.
      The heater in winter doesn't work. . . (Because the heat is blowing on the front windshield)
      The batteries in the video are 5 pieces of lead-acid batteries, the advantage of lead-acid batteries is that they are cheap. The disadvantage is that the service life is short, about 3 years.
      The temperature is too low in winter, and the lead-acid battery cannot work well.
      You can choose the lithium battery version. The advantage of the lithium battery is that it has a fast charging system, which can be fully charged in 2-3 hours; the lithium battery can also work in an environment of minus 20 degrees; the cruising range is 120KM, and the maximum speed is 45KM/H ; Battery life of 8-10 years (at least 3000 charges). The disadvantage is that it is expensive

    • @b_uppy
      @b_uppy หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not a car, it's an enclosed scooter. It gives more options than a local bus system has.
      In rural areas you must call days ahead, and the hours are limited so this opens opportunities that a regular scooter lacks. You also avoid the hassle of coordinating with bus schedules and waiting at bus stops in nasty weather.
      It does have heat and air.
      You can transport a significant amount of cargo that a regular scooter lacks. Plus it's easier to bring along a pet, too. It has higher visibility than a regular scooter, so it has advantages. These are to be ridden on the sides of roads, paved trails, and sidewalks. These are vest for suburban use, and avoid using sidewalks when there is heavy foot traffic. These have better lights for use after dark. The ability to lock up contents is important unless you really like making multiple trips to town for each stop.

And there’s a good chance that it could because the thing is so light in comparison to a car! No thank you I will stick with a regular mobility scooter for six months of the year at half the price for a really good one that goes to hell of a lot faster than this thing! Not to mention it’s a car you got a wash it all the damn time too This thing is so many negative do it it’s ridiculous!

    I like it but, unlike the STUPID UK rules & regulations on ALL mobility vehicles they are not allowed to exceed 8mph for road use & MAX of 4mph on paved or pedestrain areas. ( i think is STUPID!!!!) But, i do understand why as many still drive them here in the UK at full speed even on paved areas & a bit slower inside major superstores. Some superstores have thought about banning them unless they slow right down inside the shop So, they still continue to drive like they own the place & this can be extremely DANGEROUS for others ( those who can walk including some elderly & even other disabled & even very young children. This 😠😠😡😡😡😡 me very much. I drive a mobility scooter & i have tried as much as possible to as careful & respectful as possible of others. & i slow right down to barely a snails pace ( as they say ) if i need to or even stop & wait. I have found others to bully their way through others including i have had some verbal from a person in their mobility scooter giving me some verbal. & i just told him can't you see it is that busy others are trying to do the same thing & stop thinking you are not the only one with one & should be prioritised by it. & he gave me more abuse. & i said if you knew what it was going to be like then with your STUPID , SELFISH , ARROGANT attitude you should have stayed away then shouldn't you. & the dirty look he kept giving me was rather angering me & i wanted to give him a bloody good hiding. But, chose to try keep away from such a IMBECILE!!! & i still get some with this SELFISH!!! attitude quite regular more so their speed is the main point Like they should be treated like BLOODY royalty 😠😠😠😡😡😡👎👎👎👎 But, would like something like this due to the miserable weather we get here. But, batteries are not relaible when cold even if you try to keep the vehicle warm until you take it out the batteries become quite week i know it happens every time with mine. Anyway i think i have said too much for now Just one thing that uses 5 batteries mine uses just two & i would hate to imagine the cost in the UK of getting 5 not 2 batteries replaced when they are needed to be replaced. 😟🙄🙄🙄🤔🤔🤔🤔 ( at a minimum of £350 / £430 a for of basic 78amps ) not even Lithium types would be that low to buy & replace ( almost double for a pair ) so 5 would a huge expense to anyone in the UK. Enough said now. 😁😉

    What a piece of crap! You can hear it struggling like crazy. It sounds like it’s gonna burn itself out trying to go up the hill! I also have no doubt that this thing would be roasting inside in the summertime and you’d be freezing in it in the winter time and it probably doesn’t work with a shit in the cold cold winter!

      This thing is classified as an electric mobility scooter and doesn't require a license, or insurance. Think of the scooters some elderly people ride and put an enclosure on it.

    Another thing, riding it on the road is going to piss off a lot of normal car drivers riding behind you! This thing is 38 inches wide a lot of drivers gonna be pissed off having to go around you on the road with this! Not to mention people walking on sidewalks would be pissed off that they have to walk around you on the boulevard all the time! Makes much more sense just to buy a regular mobility scooter for a lot less money and use it only six months out of the year when the weather is nice like in Canada!

      @donnabell2284 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In Canada these are to be driven on the sidewalk as you are classified a pedestrian. I have one and I just make sure to pull off the sidewalk into a driveway or boulevard to let people pass. I also pull over and let the cars pass by me so they are not having to go out as far. It's all about being observant with traffic.
