@@Geotubest He doesn't think like other rock guitar players . He always seemed to more concerned with getting his message across than with seeing how many notes he could fit in every measure. Some people don't appreciate that style of playing and think you have to execute every note perfectly or show off your dexterity while your playing. But I don't care to hear those people play . To me Page says more in a few well chosen notes than a shredder could say in a flurry of arpeggios. It's something that can't be taught.
Jimmy and Zeppelin got me playing guitar back in 2006. The Stones and many others have had me continue playing. When I heard they were putting Scarlet out I got goosebumps up my ass crack. Seriously! Any guitarist who has been weaned off the teat of rock n roll and schooled in the art of Keef and Page knows about this track, Scarlet, lost to time. Named for Page's daughter I believe (and strangely his current gf is a Scarlett). This is monumental for us dad-rock disciples! For some reason I was under the impression that this was just an acoustic jam between Jimmy and Keith, but from what I'm hearing it is apparently a full Stones song. Page played a solo on One Hit to the Body in the 80s, but to have now a nearly 50 yr old collaboration between these guys in their heyday is something else.

Although Scarlett was remastered and "polished" it still sounds as an unfinished track, and I particularly think that is it's beauty in some way... it is an amazing and addictive song. I wonder how much nicer it could have been if they had the time to finish it back in the 70's. I must point out that I'm a great fan of the stones so almost every track they release is addictive to me!!!!
You guys all realize that The Stones will be the first and only rock band to be touring in their EIGHTIES for God's sake !!! That is insane ! Can you imagine going to a rock concert and the whole band are over Eighty years old ? And still kicking ass ! It boggles the mind

My observation is that Mick J and Keith R (Mick especially) does not like to praise Led Zeppelin. Instead, they would make some type of downgrading comment about Zeppelin. While I love some of the Stones music and they are a Unique band (in a very big way), Led Zeppelin was a band that was much greater in the scale. If Stones are "Super Unique", Zeppelin's were "super Uniquely Unique!". They invented metal and psychedelic hard rock. All of Zeppelin members were top in the world of what they played. John Paul Jones was probably the most underrated Zeppelin (imho). In comparison, Jagger was an enormous vocalist and may had vocal quality that was better than Plant's. But Plant had greater craftsmanship in his vocal work. Jimmy page is a better guitarist than Keith R. Don't even compare Bonzo and JPJ to equivalent to Stones cause they are way better than Stone's counterpart. Sure, stone was inspired by Blues and so was Zeppelin but Zeppelin evolved profoundly. I could listen to Zeppelin non-stop starting from Vol 1-4, Houses of the Holly. But I cannot say that about Stones album series. IMO, the the best of Stones was their Multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones. He was when Stone made the best music. Zeppelin could see how the future of Hard Rock listener like the way Hard Rock should sound. And even with their overpowering drumming and metal like sound, it was so addictive to listen to them. Stone's music was just amazing but fell short of "addictive" (imho) My conclusion of Mick Jagger's comments about Zeppelin is that he felt threatened by the LZ and/or was just purely jealous about their accomplishments and fames. Mick, you are not gonna live a lot longer but before you die, be a greater man and acknowledge Zeppelin the way they deserve from one of the greatest vocalist in the world like you..... :-)
What do Keith Richards and Jimmy Page have in common musically?. Both musicians tuned their guitars differently, especially Jimmy Page. Open G tuning, drop D, double drop D, open C, and unique tunings like "the rain song".

it didnt help keith with his playing very basic but jimmy page guitar work is out of this world and guitarists are still confused on how he played it
LZ was so loud and so fast. It was just to new.. and the stones were apart of the old guard. Had a hard time excepting it. Plus Roberts voice must have been a shock to Mick.

Page took Charlotte off of Eric's hands, and Eric took Patti off of George Harrisons' hands. Mick took Pamela des Barres of Jimmy's hands, and Mick also got with Linda Eastman before Paul, and also hooked up with Carla Bruni after Eric had his way with her (Pre-Sarkozy).

I love stones!❤ But I can imagine this uncomfortable sharp poking sensation when suddenly a band appears seemingly from nowhere, who amp up the volume, skew the musical sensitivities, are excessively talented, and play in a way that captures people's energies to a degree that people follow this new band like a religion-- Somebody once wrote Led Zeppelin spread like Islam in the desert! Maybe it didn't sit well with keith richards... and one can understand! I love Keith Richards! Jimmy played on an alternate version of Heart of Stone (1965) that ended up on Metamorphis. (1975) and One Hit to the Body (1986) off Dirty Work.
