The Begging is always Keith, opening riff, that's his specialty. But I think Jimmy did the solo, and there's two. Maybe he did both, but the 2nd solo really sounds like Jimmy
yes, it's a great thing for fans all over the world to see and understand, the both bands were never jealous or envious about each other. So people-stop saying x is the best or y is the best. Both were and are unique! We should be glad to have them still alive!
Well so were Mick Taylor and Keith. They hired a guitarist like Taylor in 1969 because all the bands at the time had flashy lead guitarist. Blind Faith. Deep purple. They needed that sound. Jimmy probably loved Keith’s rhythm he loved Chuck Berry and one of his early favorites was Rumble by Link Wray. And you don’t get heavier rhythm than that.
when I grew up jimmy was like GOD and you didn`t have the internet or even many pictures back then just the one on the album and in a magazine and in them jimmy always looked like he was in a dream or a fogged mirror or something and you add living in Alister crowly castle. it was pretty far out.

Ronnie famously called up jimmy after his wife and jimmy had wandered off together from woods home and said how's our bird which common english slang for a girl.
It’s funny. I was just listening to a recent interview with Mick Jagger about the song Scarlet from Goats Head Soup sessions that Jimmy played guitar on. Mick was commenting how good Jimmys memory is about those things. I’m this interview Page can’t even remember what he played on a few months prior. 😁
Keith catches hell about the quality of his playing all the time, regardless of the monstrous legendary riffs & hits he's created ... Here we have one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time paying Keef homage ... "Keith was like a locomotive on that Chuck Berry stuff .. no one i know can play that like him" ... Then we have a Mick verse from STAR STAR.. "Jimmy Page was all the rage .. we could not see the reason why" .. "The Stones were the band everyone wanted to be IN or ASSOCIATED WITH... "They were more than a band ... They were a lifestyle and an attitude" ... Rolling Stone Magazine .... Even the magazine named itself after them .....
I always preferred Zeppelin over the Stones. Jimmy plays with so much energy, its infectious. And don't forget about the rest of his band. No one could touch them. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🍻
"You're probably wondering what we're trying to do. It's hard to say: sort of a magazine and sort of a newspaper. A couple guys from the David Letterman show. Had to be Paul. And maybe Sid? Sid has quite the resume! Would love to see some footage from this session!
So let me get this straight... Is Page on that tune or not? If he is, no wonder it kicked me in the head when it came out. It was their best tune after " Under Cover".
Big Poppa The liner notes of the original Dirty Work release has him listed in the special thanks section along with many other people. It doesn’t specify what he does on the record. Is there a reissue with more in-depth liner notes?
That's funny, I just read an article that says Jimmy Page is only on one Stones tune (Scarlet) they recorded in 65 and it wasn't released until 2020. The article also says that Keith didn't like Jimmy or any other guitarist for that matter.
Jimmy is credited on this song. And there's video of Keith saying he didn't get Zeppling but praising Jimmy as great player. So don't believe everything you read.
I don’t think so...his pupils aren’t pinpoint, so he’s not on heroin. If anything, his pupils look dilated, so maybe he’s on coke. But I really don’t think so....I think he had cleaned up by the time he did this interview. But I could be wrong.
How the hell do you know?? He got off heroin a few years before this... Maybe don't be such a bitchy little watchdog, and get to work on your own shortfalls
@@alicat7281 He kicked heroin in the 70's , but was arrested in 82 and 84 for coke. The sessions he's referring to were in 85. He's as high as a kite here, probably a combination if alcohol, weed, and coke. I know the feeling and the look.
Of course I love this song always knew it was Jimmy but I'm 57 obviously you dedicated stone's fan know Ron wood and Keith Richards couldn't play those riffs Mick Taylor the best guitarist the stones ever had but hey always love Keith and the stones but he can't play like that

Has no idea what song or songs he was on or does he care, he was just having a good time. What a kind soul he is, God bless him 👍
Caught my ear right away. The solo had that Page feel, also a part using the B-Bender, something Jimmy used quite a bit in the mid to late 80's
it is just too short
Exactly Rusty. All I could think of was, 'Oh wow, Keith must have got a B string bender now....'
Two solos the middle and the outro
A Page/Richards/Wood project would've been tremendous.
@Ron Les Is that Betty Page?
Page in the New Barbarians…..would have been awesome.
Such a humble down to earth human being Jimmy is.. Love this dude from the age of 12.

When I first heard the song I said how did Keith come up with that one? It's tremendous playing and one of my favorites. Especially the beginning.
Amazing song one of their most underrated.
The opening riff is Keef, Jimmy played the solo….it’s too bad they didn’t have him in the video.

©Verena, I don't think that's true. I remember Keith saying in a disparaging way that Zep will go down like a lead balloon.
Jimmy looks like he has a nice buzz on.
He was drinking a lot in the mid-late 80’s.
A KR/JP collaboration would be something to get excited about. But Jimmy Page and Keith Richards are such entirely different musical souls.
