    I’ve just remembered something I saw a while ago that might be useful - stuffing a sleeping bag into each foot well in the cab (apparently that’s where a lot of cold gets through) works wonders. Not tried it myself but thought I’d pass it on 😁
    Second top tip - if staying somewhere frosty overnight, empty the waste water tank and leave the pipe open with a bucket underneath. We do this in the Alps when we’re skiing and noticed quite a few people also did that. Probably not needed for posh folk like you with a special cosy sock for your waste tap 😂😂

      @@leannearnold8326 hey Leanne, good to hear from you. We have an external silver screen, but rarely use it 😮 if we are off grid, I like to be able to drive away without leaving the van 🚐 and there is also the debate about what happens to all the wet/damp that would normally collect on the windscreen? We use a window vac and can collect 100mm of water in the morning, if a sliver screen was on, all that water will find its way to the coldest surface on the van which is probably hidden… 🤔 we’re still on the fence with this subject, we’ve seen the convenience and benefits of our silver screen but worry about the hidden damp, it’s physics 😂 we use them to keep cool in summer, and if the temp goes mega low we use them, with some thorough ventilation… still doing research and on the fence…

      @leannearnold8326 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Eurosully tbh I wouldn't over think it - the external screens prevent the glass (coldest surface) from getting cold, or hot in summers, therefore that extreme temp doesn't get into the van...the van is naturally vented (provided you haven't blocked all the vents off 🙈) and any atmospheric moisture will naturally disipate..it's different to "true damp" which is always associated with proper water getting in. Agree that screens are limiting for a quick getaway but you guys are experienced enough and you always have your spidey senses on if a park up isn't right so you probably wdnt park anywhere dodgy anyway. Anyway I am going on and on 😂😂 should you ever feel the need to visit the warmer climes of the south coast then our driveway is always ready for you ...might even throw in EHU ..but only if Andrew wears his kinky blue beanie with reindeer on 😂😂😂😎 take care guys, Leanne & Chris x

When we get towards freezing we then start to see a drop and can do 6kg in 3 or 4 days and in the Arctic at -7 to -14 6kg was a day or two. All variable depending on how long you are in the van and static, rather than driving or sight seeing. Back to wintering, we only have a tiny gas bottle not used for heating as its only 2kg and we got a shock when looking to purchase a refill. I did enquire if they quoted for our little cylinder at £48 ... and this was the cheapest quote. Calor gas is being removed from our van. So diesal heater being serviced or replaced. Because we currently have a small T4 I find an effective method is to provoke and wind up my wife till she explodes, then the hot air she expels with the rant is just enough to take the chill off enough to sleep. To be fair she was great going through the menopause and like a furnace several times in the night. She is much better now and seems much happier since we discussed my life insurance etc, she can't feed me enough to keep me happy bless her. Even cakes and biscuits plus chocolate all my banned list items. She says enjoy life, and carry on regardless. Enjoy your granddaughter as they grow up so quickly. @@Eurosully thanks Andrew , have to agree about the mask. Love your channel, maybe a comment on my sad life but really look forward to your vlogs. I’m guessing not your thing but am sure me and many other subscribers wish you were in ‘buymeacoffee’ so we could speed you on your way to well-deserved gazillionairedom

      We’ve kept away from the buymeacoffee, we’re still adjusting to our (tongue in cheek) TH-cam fame 😂😂 being able to communicate via emoji to call you 🔟🪦🐡 is better than any coffee ☕️ 😂 but we sincerely appreciate the sentiment mate 👍 if we ever cross paths on a camp site, or more likely a shady car park! It would be great to share a brew or two together 🍻
      thank you 😃

      @@Eurosully thanks so much for your kind reply, I’m not very good with emojis and haven’t yet worked out what it all means. Hopefully one day we will meet up, the drinks are definitely on me to show our appreciation of your vlogs. It has been a big day for us as we collected our new van, deposit placed June 2022 so it’s been quite a wait; at least we can now make full use of your channel and we’ll be visiting many of the place you have shown us ❤️

    Great video with lots of useful tips - would never have thought to close the cab heater vents or turn the heating to recirculate 👍 💨
    Will be heading out in early November so a chance to try out the tips 👍
    Many Thanks

      @@M21er I’m still on the fence as to how effective it is, but quick and easy so makes no sense not to. You have to remember to turn it back off recirculate when you drive off or your screen mists up 😂😂 cheers 🍻 M21er 👍

    Another excellent instalment , remember practice makes perfect, so screw away , as for the hats the less said the better 🫣 , do you have a diesel heater , seem a good option for colder days , keep up the good work and thanks for the laughs 🫡

      Diesel heater will come at some point, especially if lpg gets scarce, but will need a big reshuffle to fit it in 🤔
