  • Parkdale is like the best and worst of Toronto: eclectic, artsy and ever-changing, while also being famously dingy, and run-down. This west-end neighbourhood has a rich immigrant history, with waves of Polish, Afro-Caribbean, Filipino and Vietnamese immigrants having called it home. Today, Parkdale is home to one of North America’s largest Tibetan expat communities: and has the restaurants to prove it, with some of the best momos in the city.
This walk starts at the corner of Queen Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue, and heads East along Queen to Dufferin Street.

Some day foreign investors will take it all down and build condo towers with falling balcony glass.

So far, gentrification stops at Dufferin. But who knows how long that will last.
