Been a Sig fan forever, which means I know that when they say one of their new toys is "way more available", they mean "not anytime soon and don't expect us to keep up with the demands provided we don't just discontinue it in a couple years". This looks great, price tag not withstanding, wish they'd bring back some of the other platforms they've discontinued and stop making everything a "limited release"
@Apex Hunter I agree with you, but they're going to go where the money is--365s and 320s in every imaginable configuration. Another 12 to 15 years from now most people might forget they ever made DA/SA guns :(

Glad I picked up a mint/used P226S several months ago. It was the earlier version of the German X5. It is by far my most accurate 9mm pistol AND it was only $1600. This new one might be a tad more C notes.
Yes I'm glad we're getting a P226 XFive. The P226 is Sig's greatest pistol in my opinion (yes over the P220 to me). I'm glad we're getting an XFive variant now and it will be widely available compared o the German SAO. Hopefully these will be just as great if not even better. Also please release a 3.9" P320 XCompact that isn't a Spectre version please. Yes you can build it or convert a standard P320 Compact or a discontinued XCarry to a 3.9" P320 XCompact, but it would be nice to get it ready to go straight from Sig. 3.9" > 3.6"
I am very pleased to see SIG bring these to market. I just wish that there was a short or internal extractor, and a OR version with an elevated fixed/dovetail rear sight. Short models please too. Thank you guys, job well done. Now, as an LEO can you bring in an IOP program with imported SG 551-SP/SWAT 553-SP/Pistols to SBR with welded rail and diopter sights?
So. Buying a P226 XFive legion has made me a bonafide fanboy, even after I love my P365 AXG Legion. Anyway I went and bought a P226 XFive with the intent of switching to it as a competition platform, but a quick question. How a it possible to set it up to run it in Carry Optics or should I get a larger magwell and run it in Limited optics?
I bought one when they came out. There was several modular parts so you could upgrade a base gun all the way to the full open gun. The only way to get the open gun was to buy it. Right after the guns came out they disappeared. Sig USA told me they could not get the parts. Sadly I sold it since I could never make it what I wanted it to be. Now it looks to be identical just modernized some. I like everything I see about the new one. Curious if a full open gun will ever be available like before.
