- Description
Part 2 to the IKEA PAX CLOSET makeover.
This video gives a little more detail on how I added LED lights to Ikea Pax closet.
Govee LEDs bought from Amazon. 6500k Day light
Simple DIY but well worth the effort and money to upgrade the closet.

So interesting thank you! Love the look.
Thank you!
Very nice!❤❤
Pax system has an angled-inward soft dimmable led light that can be daisy chained and comes with a physical remote. I put mine on a smart plug with a daily schedule.
Won't you lose a lot of the light in the lower cupboard once the top shelves have things on them?
So far so good! but we didn't over crowd the top shelves for that reason ( just a purse, a hats, a basket etc). The lights are also so close to the front of the cabinets that the light up the opposite side of the closet as well, that wasn't planned but the light works for the walkway and spills over to the other side. The LEDs make a massive difference vs just the chandelier alone. Also made a short with chandlier light on then turned on the LEDs and you can see the difference. Hope that helps!
Not a bad effort think if you had used led profile for the led tape to sit in would would have looked better but otherwise good job
Yes! I agree, someone mentioned that and looking back I would've loved to route in a channel for the LED's to sit in and use LED diffuser cover.
Thank you!
This is the very basic way to add LEDs to a surface. It is very cheap looking. Spend some time and use channels and routers.
Yea, thats a good idea! Don't think most people have plunge routers though. Will give it a go on the next one.
Thank you for the idea.
It doesn't look that bad and very much depends on the look you're going for/what your goal is. I think it's a great way to add light for not very much money and doesn't detract from the beauty of the wardrobes. Definitely didn't cheapen them.
