Thank you so much for sharing this. This is one of the best step-by-step slip on install videos I've seen. I appreciate the real-time aspect, and all the ups & downs you shared. I was a little confused at the enclosed S&S install instructions, which list the gaskets in the parts but never mention when or where to install them. I had also thought to use the S&S supplied clamps, but when loosening them the bolt holders fly off and it's really tricky to reattach - so you're probably on the right track reusing the stock Harley clamps.

Update to my original comment. I ended up installing my slip ons today. The instructions DO mention the gaskets but it's a little unclear, especially compared to how you showed it. I was able to use the S&S clamps and they look a lot better than the stock Harley ones. I had to loosen them, and slide the thinner sides underneath the header heat shields, then rotate to get the clamp bolts facing the right way, but it did work. Thanks again for sharing your process!

I agree. I think it is a perfect balance of sound. I am more noticeable to cars but I can still hear the radio system without difficulty.

Nice install. I put the same mufflers on my LRST. I did remove the decibel reducers prior to install. Have been considering installing them to see how much difference they make. Enjoy your content. Take care.
@@bcbsilverhawk8426 Thank you. I had a stripped out or different sized screw on each decibel reducer so I did not try to take them off for this video. I am curious what the sound difference is so I will try to get those screws out and maybe record a quick update comparing the sound with them in and out.
@@Backroads_and_BBQ I had the same issue removing mine. Don't recall what sizes I used to remove them. Almost like S&S installed differant sized screws for some reason. I do like the sound with them out. I really want to see if there is any noticeable difference in torque with them in. Look forward to the video if you make one. Take care.

Hey! Thanks for the video, I have a 2023 Lowrider S (117 m8) I believe the same as yours. Every website I go to for this exhaust says it doesn’t fit the 2023 lowrider s or st . The link you provided says the same? I’m wondering which exact one you ordered? Seems like it’ll fit, there’s an option for 1200 (same slash cut S&S slip ons) but for that price I might as well get a full exhaust. Your video was great thanks for you help!

Great vid and very helpful for my upcoming install. I did not go w/ the S&S, I went w/ Rinehart. Does anyone by chance have the HD part number for the OEM gasket? Rinehart website says that the gasket is needed and not included. Thank you in advance.

Question: If i do go with this ss slip on, do i need tuner to accommodate, and would this change fuel mpg compared to stock slip-on? Appreciate your feedback, sir. Thank you so much for the detailed video. I used to be frustrated when I try to install something and always doubted myself. Couple of questions if you don’t mind, I have passenger foot pegs which come out in between the exhaust, now with the S&S you removed the heatsheild, do you think it will be an issue for the pillion? Also, do you feel that the bike needs tuning after installing the slip ons? Thanks
I did not need a tune afterwards. No loss of mpg at all. The S&S have built in heat shields, so the same as stock.

Possibly, but I think I also liked the stock clamps better. If I remember right they were better quality.
Yes, just installed these and was able to loosen the heat shield clamps and install the s&s clamps. Retightened the heat shield at the very end.

No, a tune is not needed with slip on exhaust.
