    The fatal flaw in the plan for this video is that every single song that was upvoted enough to appear here had to be genuinely enjoyed by a reasonable number of people, by definition, so there isn't anything *too* bad on the list. The video is still great, mind you.

      @@rashotcake6945 I always find it funny when people list a song that has like 30+ million views and a positive rating. Like sure, maybe in the very snobby music review scene everyone just hates a band like Imagine Dragons almost instantly, nobody outside of the music review scene would scoff at you for liking imagine dragons (or the odds of running into a person that would, is very low) they're one of the most popular bands for a reason.
      Same goes for listing songs like Dance Monkey, congrats you like a song that has 1.7 billion views and for most people is enjoyable lol.

      @ARSXNIKK888 2 ปีที่แล้ว +56

      @@BrandingChangeYep well personally if I liked a song from Imagine dragons I would probably feel a little embarrassed to tell someone else, for me a guilty pleasure song doesn't mean that it isn't generally well liked, it just has to go against what you would typically listen to, or make you embarrassed to say you like it your friends or something imo

      The Flaming Lips did a live cover of this song, and it’s much better than the original as it has better vocals, a more interesting and unique soundscape, and no early 2000s pop trashiness. The original is a guilty pleasure of mine, but most psychedelic covers of pop songs are going to be better then the original.

    Protip for anyone who's burnt out on Careless Whisper's sax snippet: listen to the extended cut! The one everyone's familiar with is a cut they made to play on the radio, the original album version starts with some soft instrumentation and the second verse of the song before the sax riff kicks in a minute and a half into the song.
    I really can't describe how much I love this song when it's got that minute and a half buffer. It doesn't feel like you're being honked at against your will, it gives the song room to breathe and the sax riff feels deserved after all that build-up.

    I'm so glad Brad doesn't mind Chasing Cars, it's one of my top 10 favourite songs of all time. I love everything about it, the lyrics, the build, the perfect blend of emotion and catchiness and it's one of those songs you can listen to numerous times and pick up on something different each time. My guilty pleasure songs are probably Train - Soul Sister and Jason Mraz - I'm yours. They're often panned for being cheap, poppy guitar riff to lovey soft, wispy croon singy boi songs that are usually the songs a douche learning guitar learns first to convince women he can play guitar to smash them, and yes I know the one line of Soul Sister is referring to a blowjob but, damnit, I just appreciate the vibes man. I like mellow, soothing music that exudes happiness and for the most part I tend to dig upbeat tempos meant to make you feel happy and relaxed, even if they're very corporately designed that way. So sue me. And yeah, I still think Soul Sister's kind of a cute song about a guy who just really digs his girl, even if the lines are dumb and ones about getting a blowie.

    I was surprised that Heat Waves was so popular and had been used so many times, on TikTok short vids of all places.
    I was unaware of its mainstream popularity until I heard that some relatives/friends of mine played it on their phone but it turned out to just be a short video.

    We all know Disney was lit back then but Miley Cyrus still pulled me with that 'Start All Over' track. If you are over the age of 20 I would hope your prepubescent years were garnished with just pure fun such as this. And

    Smash Mouth’s Astro Lounge album gets a bad reputation and All Star has been meme’d out to all hell but I’ll burst out singing every single word on the album.
    Sugar Ray’s 14:59 album is also a classic to me, more so for the nostalgia. I think Sugar Ray has also been getting a bad wrap, but 🤷‍♂️
    The Chainsmokers Closer and Something Just Like This. Another nostalgia thing of being back in college, going out to the bars and drinking with my friends. These were on repeat almost 24/7 at the bars until Mo Bamba and Sicko Mode took over, lol
