As a gay guy I was legit offended by it lmao. That song is epic to me and it slaps the fuck out of me. I've even had sex to it. I think I can forgive brad... barely.
i ran isn't about loving a girl and running away, it's about seeing someone, falling in love, and then both getting chased by aliens and ultimately abducted

honestly I had no clue Foo Fighters wasn't regarded that well. I only know a few of their songs but The Pretender is easily one of my favorite rock songs out there
They're generally so loved I'd actually call them overrated. The Pretender was the only song of theirs I liked for a while but I've heard it so much it kind of annoys me now. Although Everlong and My Hero are pretty good, and These Days is fantastic.
@@iliketrains3495 honestly, I totally understand that, that's why I dislike My Hero. I almost never heard The Pretender on the radio so it never had that effect on me.
@Evan Wright Their first two albums with Smear were 1997's The Colour And The Shape and 2011's Wasting Light. Grohl played all the guitar parts on their first and third albums
As an Australian your pronunciation of Kylie Minogue gave me a good laugh, she’s only referred to as Kylie here, that’s how big she is (or was I guess).
@@isaacjgl2657 Songs like Lucky and the Locomotion are cheesy as hell and can be qualified for this video, but her late 90s/early 00s stuff is just quality
Up until the initial break up of the band Blink 182 were unironically fantastic in my opinion, especially self titled. The fact that they basically spawned a bunch of garbage dudebro pop punk bands chasing their success shows how good they were
I’m so glad I’m too old to know what “meme part” even means. All I know is it’s a great song and I’ll continue enjoying regardless of what other people say.
I'm so glad Brad doesn't mind Chasing Cars, it's one of my top 10 favourite songs of all time. I love everything about it, the lyrics, the build, the perfect blend of emotion and catchiness and it's one of those songs you can listen to numerous times and pick up on something different each time. Also as a fan of Snow Patrol it's probably one of their _least_ simple songs haha
Also good to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like The Kill. The first verse and chorus are quite good, but then Jared starts adding a bunch of awful screams, culminating with that noise at the end of the bridge that sounds like a dying frog
Night Visions by Imagine Dragons. It was what got me into music as a tiny child, and I have a deep respect for the album. As well as the fact that majority of the songs sound way better than what they've made in recent years.
As someone who spends a lot of time in the goth/industrial and ambient noise scenes - I absolutely love Taylor Swift. Uniromically even paid like 200 a ticket for two two nights in a row to see her live. I have never hid my love for her though, even if it became a bit of meme amongst my friends. Though it was done with love though and that’s not a bad thing.
Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas. It's the cheesiest 70s dad rock song ever, but once I heard it on South Park and later in Supernatural, I fell in love with it so hard.
I'm not a Foo Fighters fan, but I quite enjoy My Hero. I don't understand why it's considered a guilty pleasure, although the main reason I like it is because it was featured on an advert for Takeshi's Castle. Also the riffs and drums are pretty good, my only real complaint is the lead guitar tone is pretty bad, especially in the licks after the choruses.
PLEASE go over all the ERB songs one day if you can. “You lost so many babies we should call you Miss Carriage” from Cleopatra vs Marilyn Monroe haunts me and I need someone else’s opinion on it
Thing most people don't know- the album Night Visions by imagine Dragons was a retooling of what was originally supposed to the Spiderman Broadway show soundtrack. And Night Visions was the first album I ever bought, and I will forever stand by it.
It’s crazy hearing ERB again, even from the segment you played I remembered all the lyrics after all these years which definitely says something about their impressive writing for a TH-cam series
Flock of Seagulls have some jams. I wrote them off for the longest time because of the hair (same with the Cure and they ended up becoming my favorite band), but they are definitely more than a one hit wonder
Verbatim by Mother Mother. The vocals take some getting used to and I wouldn't really want my friends to know that I love that song but it's actually a banger with an awesome message
Careless whisper, heaven is a place on earth, and My Hero aren't guilty pleasures. They are just pleasures. I mean, how in the actual fuck could you feel guilty listening to Careless Whisper? Something has to be wrong with you
That reminds of this REALLY awful remix of the song I found on some club compilation. don't think I've ever been so infuriated by a remix in my life. Although I see what you mean given its resemblance to the intro of 'Something Good Can Work'
My guilty pleasure songs are probably Train - Soul Sister and Jason Mraz - I'm yours. They're often panned for being cheap, poppy guitar riff to lovey soft, wispy croon singy boi songs that are usually the songs a douche learning guitar learns first to convince women he can play guitar to smash them, and yes I know the one line of Soul Sister is referring to a blowjob but, damnit, I just appreciate the vibes man. I like mellow, soothing music that exudes happiness and for the most part I tend to dig upbeat tempos meant to make you feel happy and relaxed, even if they're very corporately designed that way. So sue me. And yeah, I still think Soul Sister's kind of a cute song about a guy who just really digs his girl, even if the lines are dumb and ones about getting a blowie.
@@Kedai610 Nah the blandness of that ukelele is unforgivable, and you can't just ignore the lyrics in a 1-5-6-4 ukulele song lol. Singing "Hey Soul Sister" over the whitest instrument is borderline a hate crime.
"Beverly Hills" by Weezer. Yes it's basic and corny as hell. But Rivers knows how how to make a catchy pop tune. Plus only Weezer could do a song like that and get away with it.
@@GoombaGuy1996 that’s completely true but Weezer is also the same band that has never released the same album twice. I feel like long time Weezer fans know that you can expect just about anything from them depending on their mood, where casual listeners probably don’t get how tongue in cheek a lot of Weezer’s songs are. Especially if they are only casually aware of stuff from Blue and Pinkerton like you said
I can't believe someone categorized My Hero as a guilty pleasure. I've always proudly loved that song, my fav Foo Fighters track along with The Pretender. I can't be the only one, right?
I wish Carly Rae Jepsen hadn't released Call Me Maybe, it ruined her career. She definitely one of the best popstars in the world and her being associated with a (unjustifiably) hated song sucks. Run Away With Me is one of the best pop songs ever written and all her albums since that song are incredible.
YES!!! I'M NOT CRAZY!! Thank you Brad! It's Time is THE BEST ID song PERIOD. Screw Demons, screw Radioactive, It's Time is the best and not at all grating to the ears to me

Glad to see you defending Kesha and I Don't Care-- I love trashy 2010s dance pop with all my heart, no guilt about it. Also fun to see you delve into some youtube meme songs like Epic Rap Battles-- personally, I always thought Schmoyoho (the autotune guys) had some real bangers.
Yeah, I mean I’ll always think her songs are complete trash but I respect that we all have different tastes, and I’m glad you enjoy it. Schmoyoho is awesome, I haven’t heard that name in years lol
A guilty pleasure of mine is @MEH by Playboi Carti. I'm not a huge Carti fanatic, and honestly, I don't even think anything Carti says in this song could be classified as English, but his performance is very fun and infectious, and MY GOD DOES THAT BEAT SLAPS!!!!!!!!!

I feel like most of these 80’s songs on here shouldn’t be guilty pleasures. Like, dude they’re good. Not everything has to be modern to be good, the stuff coming out now will be dated in a few years as well.
I remember hearing It's Time for the first time by Imagine Dragons, the first song I have ever heard from that band. And I fell in love with it so much. But the band never delivered after that. I kinda like Radioactive and Believer too, but nowhere near It's Time.
I actually really fw EAST, the beat is entertaining and sort of comedic . I love Earl and how he raps so the song is overall enjoyable to me, honestly it isn't too much of a guilty pleasure . I'mma listen to it rn
Mine would have to be just Paramore as a whole because it's a band that is in no way targeted towards someone like myself yet I really enjoy them especially the first 3 albums
Feint by Linkin Park is one of my guilty pleasures. Much respect to the band and the fans but I can't get over the culture surrounding the band and their fans from the mid 2000s and 2010s but that song does go hard.
I was surprised that Heat Waves was so popular and had been used so many times, on TikTok short vids of all places. I was unaware of its mainstream popularity until I heard that some relatives/friends of mine played it on their phone but it turned out to just be a short video. True It's a formulaic electro pop with generic slow vocal but I loved Glass Animals since their Zaba Album so idk, Heat Waves is a kinda gulilty pleasure of mine
the best ERB was the one with Stephen Hawking v Albert Einstein. the line: "There are 10 million million million million million million million million particles in the universe that we can observe, your mama took the ugly ones and put them into 1 nerd" is unbeatable
Love the long videos you've been doing, you could talk for hours and I'd never get bored lol. I always get happy whenever I see a notification from you, thanks brad for being cool :)
Eurobeat in general. Songs like Dancing, Heartbeat, No One Sleep In Tokyo etc.. This music just makes you want to move. It's like the musical equivalent of a whiff of cocaine. I literally can't get enough of this stuff. They're just oozing with 90s techno cheese in both the lyrics and instrumentation.
A Flock Of Seagulls are a much better band that deserves to be known more then for just "I Ran" Their first 3 albums have some stellar deep cuts and for the time Paul Reynolds had a Guitar Tone that stood out a ton with his use of Delay! Seriously check out the song D.N.A & Transfer Affection because they are killer
@@Vinseenit yes. I like I Ran a lot, especially because I grew up with Vice City, but Space Age Love Song is a nearly perfect song to me. Literally the only thing I dislike about it is I wish it was way longer, it’s just so good.
ERB is unironically great. The lines are so clever, and the more you delve into them, the more you realizes that what you thought was a throwaway line was actually reference. Every single lines means something, you just don't realize it. Reading the comments makes the videos so much better.
Guilty pleasures are for cowards, if you like something then just like it Edit the kesha comment made me rethink what guilty pleasure means, in which case probably anything by Marilyn Manson, his music was a huge huge part of my life but ever since the allegations against him I feel so conflicted about going back to it :/
I recently rediscovered a Disney banger from an "underrated songs list" video. We all know Disney was lit back then but Miley Cyrus still pulled me with that 'Start All Over' track. If you are over the age of 20 I would hope your prepubescent years were garnished with just pure fun such as this. And I would also hope I don't grow up too much by age 40 to not be able to enjoy this.
yooo Start All Over is a fucking BANGER! I've heard that song so much from endlessly watching Disney Channel and I *still* love that song, it never fails to put me in a good mood :p
YEP YES THATS EXACTLY WHAT I MEANT ABOUT KESHA!!!!! like the song sounds like absolute ass and it’s so dumb and trashy but it’s so much fun i’m so so happy you got to it!!!
I think I’m just way too old for it, and it doesn’t help that I have known way too many girls in real life that actually behave like Kesha songs, so it’s always left a bad taste in my mouth lol. But I respect that others like different things, as long as they don’t take it too seriously.
Oh my god I LOVE guilty pleasure songs, one of which is for me Bloodhound Gang- The Bad Touch. Not only the lyrics are obnoxious but also the video is making me extremely uncomfortable. Despite this, the song is such a bop with very playful guitar and the stupidity of lyrics makes me smile every fucking time. If you read this Brad, I hope you have a great day:) PS I also have some tøp songs (or albums lmao) that are not that great but I really enjoy listening to them
The few Bloodhound Gang songs I know (three point one four, i wish i was queer so i can get chicks, and fire water burn) absolutely suck. But i love them so much that I can't stop listening.
Best guilty pleasure song, hands down is Now you’re gone by Basshunter. If you haven’t listened to it- listen to it! It’s y2k eurobeat trash but it unironically bangs
My guilty pleasure has to be As It Was by Harry Styles. It’s kinda overplayed but I love the instrumental and atmosphere of the song. Also the vocals are really clean and sound nice.
The thing about I Ran by Flock of Seagulls is that it's not Space Age Love Song. Space Age Love Song just sounds so much more passionate. It just feels more genuine
Smash Mouth’s Astro Lounge album gets a bad reputation and All Star has been meme’d out to all hell but I’ll burst out singing every single word on the album. Sugar Ray’s 14:59 album is also a classic to me, more so for the nostalgia. I think Sugar Ray has also been getting a bad wrap, but 🤷♂️ The Chainsmokers Closer and Something Just Like This. As a gay guy I was legit offended by it lmao. That song is epic to me and it slaps the fuck out of me. I've even had sex to it. I think I can forgive brad... barely.
I think Careless Whisper is one of the gretest songs ever created and no-one should feel guilt listening to it.

Came here to say this. The subject matter is awesome when you think about it! I learned this from Todd in the Shadows’ great video on this song.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that A Flock of Seagulls sounds like a New Age act. I certainly did before actually hearing their New Wave goodness.

any of those EDM progressive house tunes with david guetta, calvin harris, avicii ect with a featured vocalist they all slapped
Avicii and certain eras of Calvin Harris are genuinely good. David Guetta... not so much, but Titanium still holds up pretty well

honestly I had no clue Foo Fighters wasn't regarded that well. I only know a few of their songs but The Pretender is easily one of my favorite rock songs out there
Yeah the only album I've heard from them was good ngl
They're generally so loved I'd actually call them overrated. The Pretender was the only song of theirs I liked for a while but I've heard it so much it kind of annoys me now.
Although Everlong and My Hero are pretty good, and These Days is fantastic.

I Miss You by Blink-182 is actually gorgeous musically. Although the meme part comes out of nowhere, it doesn't ruin the track for me.
Up until the initial break up of the band Blink 182 were unironically fantastic in my opinion, especially self titled. The fact that they basically spawned a bunch of garbage dudebro pop punk bands chasing their success shows how good they were
The way Tom Delonge sings is the worst part, if he pronounced words like a human or Mark sang that part it would be like twice as good
I’m so glad I’m too old to know what “meme part” even means. All I know is it’s a great song and I’ll continue enjoying regardless of what other people say.
🤘 Blink for life
I had only listened to the 5sos version before this video and... I still definitely prefer the 5sos version.
Snow Patrol is so fucking good. Open Your Eyes is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Authenticity I like, others would say it sucked due to the fact of the genre and era of it. I myself have a love the song and similar songs to it
I strongly dislike Snow Patrol however The Lightning Strike is absolutely incredible
YOu like Signal Fire? my fave of theirs
pumped up kicks is lowkey a very catchy and overlooked also overplayed but good song although it is most definitely my guilty pleasure
PUK is just a good song
@@AtticusJohn Is this a little meme, or are you being serious?

Night Visions by Imagine Dragons. It was what got me into music as a tiny child, and I have a deep respect for the album. As well as the fact that majority of the songs sound way better than what they've made in recent years.
Everything up until Evolve is pretty good. I had the same expiriance as you and grew up listening to them. My first concert was a Imagine dragons.
I was tempted to put them there (especially Hell and Silence that ep is incredible) but I realized I don’t really feel guilty for liking them

Though it was done with love though and that’s not a bad thing.

not guilty, just a banger tbh
i could never listen to that song and not think of supernatural
@@icecreamguru7584 me neither
Far from the cheesiest 70s rock song, it's just a classic.
Their 90 stuff is still great
It’s not a guilty pleasure, it’s just a good song period like half the songs here lol
How could someone consider it a guilty pleasure? It’s just an overall good song

Carly Rae jepsen still makes great music and she's definitely one of the best pop artists out right now
Hard agree. She grew immensely as an artist
I hardly agree, she's just overblown by newly 30 yos
Thing most people don't know- the album Night Visions by imagine Dragons was a retooling of what was originally supposed to the Spiderman Broadway show soundtrack.
And Night Visions was the first album I ever bought, and I will forever stand by it.
I think the world would be better if that happened because it would immediately stop Imagine Dragons overplay from becoming a thing
I enjoy that entire album save a few tracks
It’s crazy hearing ERB again, even from the segment you played I remembered all the lyrics after all these years which definitely says something about their impressive writing for a TH-cam series
Flock of Seagulls have some jams. I wrote them off for the longest time because of the hair (same with the Cure and they ended up becoming my favorite band), but they are definitely more than a one hit wonder

Careless whisper, heaven is a place on earth, and My Hero aren't guilty pleasures. They are just pleasures. I mean, how in the actual fuck could you feel guilty listening to Careless Whisper? Something has to be wrong with you
I was shocked when I saw my hero that song is a masterpiece
My thoughts exactly. And adding to it, how can you say it is a guilty pleasure when GUILTY FEET HAVE GOT NO RHYTHM???
Chasing Cars at 1.5x speed sounds like a Two Door Cinema Club song
That reminds of this REALLY awful remix of the song I found on some club compilation. don't think I've ever been so infuriated by a remix in my life. Although I see what you mean given its resemblance to the intro of 'Something Good Can Work'
Huh, actually yes.
I always hated that song, I actually like it much better at 1.5x speed somehow! :D
maybe it's because they're both Northern Irish...
Check out the cover of “Chasing Cars” by German goth rock band Mono Inc. it’s pretty awesome.
Hey Soul Sister is enjoyable so long as you ignore the lyrics, which also applies to most Train songs
I'm Yours is awesome. And so are a ton of other Mraz songs, like Have It All, The Remedy, and Look For The Good.
YES! I AGREE WITH YOU 100%!
For some reason I like Netflix trip by Ajr
@@Kedai610 Nah the blandness of that ukelele is unforgivable, and you can't just ignore the lyrics in a 1-5-6-4 ukulele song lol. Singing "Hey Soul Sister" over the whitest instrument is borderline a hate crime.
"Beverly Hills" by Weezer. Yes it's basic and corny as hell. But Rivers knows how how to make a catchy pop tune. Plus only Weezer could do a song like that and get away with it.
@@pollotwin I understand why people think like that though. This is the same band that released two of the greatest albums of the 90's
I'm here from the future to say that every case continues to fall apart against him.
And
I would also hope I don't grow up too much by age 40 to not be able to enjoy this.
yooo Start All Over is a fucking BANGER!
If you read this Brad, I hope you have a great day:)
PS I also have some tøp songs (or albums lmao) that are not that great but I really enjoy listening to them

Blurred Lines is a massive guilty pleasure. My dancing to the song is not condoning sexual assault, I just appreciate a bop.
This is why Word Crimes by Weird Al exists. There’s no guilt in dancing to a song about good grammar
My Hero by Foo Fighters, I haven't heard that song in so long. You managed to unlock some middle school memories for me.
Belinda Carlisle isn't a guilty pleasure imo she's just great

Best guilty pleasure song, hands down is Now you’re gone by Basshunter. If you haven’t listened to it- listen to it! It’s y2k eurobeat trash but it unironically bangs
My guilty pleasure has to be As It Was by Harry Styles. It’s kinda overplayed but I love the instrumental and atmosphere of the song. Also the vocals are really clean and sound nice.
Reacting to every ERB would make for a amazing series I’m all for it
The thing about I Ran by Flock of Seagulls is that it's not Space Age Love Song. Space Age Love Song just sounds so much more passionate. It just feels more genuine
I have so much nostalgia for a lot of these songs.

Smash Mouth’s Astro Lounge album gets a bad reputation and All Star has been meme’d out to all hell but I’ll burst out singing every single word on the album.
Sugar Ray’s 14:59 album is also a classic to me, more so for the nostalgia. I think Sugar Ray has also been getting a bad wrap, but 🤷♂️
The Chainsmokers Closer and Something Just Like This. Another nostalgia thing of being back in college, going out to the bars and drinking with my friends. These were on repeat almost 24/7 at the bars until Mo Bamba and Sicko Mode took over, lol
