Jeff, have you ever tried planting pumpkins/squash in a plot? Been doing it for 15years and it's become my favorite food plot planting (especially late season).
Having that plot so close to your border seems to violate the sanctuary rule. If the neighbor walks by or drives a tractor by a few days in late October towards dusk, that switch doesn't seem sound and scent proof. You just live with the impacts then? You know it's infrequent?
I strongly encourage folks to have food on their borders...basically a dead end of movement. The cool thing is that the only road around the border of our land is ours. The farmer's access roads are well away from ours, and they only farm. In most areas you can get the deer to hold on your own land and then release to the farmers right at dark. You can use woods roads to get out or into stands during dark hours...and field roads during daylight. It works perfectly 😊 especially when the deer can't hold on your neighbors...
Happy Father's day to you and all the whitetail nuts !
Thanks and you too!!

I put a pumpkin patch in the corner of every plot ! Definitely a great late draw 👍🏻

Happy Father's Day David!
Jeff it would nice to see drawings of the area designating bedding areas, screening, blinds, etc. This would support your discussion.

Great info as always thank u
You are very welcome!
Any tips for growing a food plot ind the Pacific Northwest?
Jeff, how do you adjust for other predators (wolves) wolves are checking food plots much like people over hunt their plots.
Do you screen the woods edge of your plots with switch
Yes ..most of the time! About 6' wide
Well said now if I can make it happen! Seems easier said then done
Does habitat improvement work effect deer movement the following hunting season?
Typically only for the better...
Okay, thank you
