After many tests with Humbrol i found that water needs Borax. It helps paint to shred and avoid bubbles. Great job. keep up

the result wasn't that bad actually... Try next time by moving the water before... because it seems your borax just sunk at the bottom... also no reason to put that the day/night before. For such little pedal boxes, a smaller bucket would suffice, just put the water warm and wait a bit until it cools a tad... add the borax, move and just wait 5 minutes... add paints, dip the pedal (remove paint with a stick or newspaper.. do not shake the pedal under the water..) and voila! when done and dry... spray clear coat and badaboom! you got yourself a great looking finish. if you see that there are some imperfections, re-apply some layers of clear coating, and then sand it a bit... apply even polisher wax, and work that in.. (preferably with a motorised tool like a buffer polisher, or been such a little pedal, a Dremel and patience.. will do just fine)

No water slide labels for the controls?

I've found success in stirring much much less when trying to get bigger swirls. I really just kinda float all my colors on top of eachother dead center, with maybe a few outside drops after, to keep the water from getting too restless, then swipe through it with a paint stick like you did, avoiding turning it sideways unless im really trying to move something. Blobs break pretty well when hit by the thin end of the paint stick and if you go slow they drag well.

I was going to suggest that (less movement should give a better swirl with "bigger" colours). I was also thinking that maybe just using 2 colours on the water, with a complementary base on the item being dipped?
