Jay i thinknyou should have a go at making some of those wooden pictures and sell them or offer them as prizes to your subscribers ❤ you did a great job on your headboard 😊 just a suggestion for future video's 😊
We built a new camp. My dad had the glue but figured if he returned it he would save a ton of $. The nail gun was so much faster then screwing them down so used nails. Brand new camp and it pops like a old house when walking. I'm glad I was able to convince him the extra expenses for the sill plate to use treated over regular wood.
These guys seem like they’re a blast to work with. I’ve been in the trades for years and know it’s tough work but the camaraderie between the crew is everything
@08:56 Say what you will but my man Jay's got some Mooooooves! This slalom move and the the earlier video of scaffold dancing? A bona fide Patrick Swayze!
A little late but there is a kit that you can buy at home depot or Lowes that are scored on the shank that are perfect for refastening subfloor through the carpet. It's called Squeeek No More.
that's a fun job .. re screwing a floor down .. great video .I could use some rough cut planks .. just slap a few stamps on them and ship them in the mail .. lol need a update in the back yard raised flower box job how did they turn out with the plants ..maybe post a picture ??
You know you have watched too many perkins/ray jay videos when your about to jump off a approx 4' scaffold today and you think of ray and climb down the A frame ladder.. not sure if that's good or bad. Jumping would have been way quicker! Good videos guys, keeping it real life!
Ray, Jay and guest Jamie, Another great Video‼️ I liked the offer for Food at the start. I always ate with my children and enjoyed what they cooked‼️ Blessings to Yall from Gainesville Georgia🙏 🔨🧰🪚
This was well scripted ... I love it!!! It's like when you watch and MCU Movie that isn't Avengers and in the Movie some other Avengers show up .... Jaime being the Tony Stark character
Jamie needs a watch on his Robo hand. I once pissed off some people in an office building when I was doing a huge signage install. All I had was the impact driver and I was screwing some sheetrock anchors and screws into a wall and this guy came out screaming at me from the adjacent room. Pretty funny because that was the last screw I had to place. Good times!!
There's a This Old House episode where they use special screws that break off below the carpet and padding. And you can use it without removing the carpet
And now you know that was a sponsored segment. One squeak here and there sure but an entire room is a no go. Are you going to chalk lines on the carpet to run the screws. I'm actually surprised he put the carpet back down. I was shocked by how clean that carpet was.
We have a loft extension where my son “lives” when he is home. Regretfully 20 years ago when we built it I had not seen the tricks to stop a squeaking floor. Unless you have lived with it you just can’t appreciate how irritating it is. Regretfully my wife won’t let me lift the carpet to fix it because the carpet was stupidly expensive.
That sucks…someone mentioned in the comments that they make screws that are meant to go through the carpet… I’m not sure how well they are hidden though.
Its a special tool that snaps off the screw directly flush with the subflooring. The kit comes with everything you need. You cant feel a thing afterwards. This old house has a video on it
We've used regular trim head screws. Separate the carpet fibers, screw it it and it will pop right through the carpet backing and go through foam pad. Rough the fibers up with your hand and you can't even tell you did anything. Honestly the hardest part is locating the joist.
If Jamie built it when he was 22 and assuming that he is about below 40, the house then was built 18 years ago or less. Did they use Advantech back then or whas Advanteck subflooring added later?
Someone please tell Jamie not to overfill his blinker fluid as it can run into his light and it will void the 1000 blink warranty...!! Also remind him that if his blinker fluid runs low one side will blink twice as fast as the other cause of the camber of the road...!!!
@@Building_Jays_Way just poking fun bro. Love the content from day 1. Not only do you guys kill it on here but also on the perkins brothers as well. My 2 favorite shows on TH-cam. Keep killing it.

Love the wooden picture in Jamie's house. Be kind to one another. Stay safe. Love to all

Ray and Jay just got clowned.
What a beautiful home. And to think he built it when he was 22. He has a wealth of knowledge.
lol you guys are like one big happy family 👍🏻👍🏻
I had to laugh when I saw you draining your taillights. Same here. Cheaper than replacing bulbs. Pro tip number one.

That wall art Jamie has of some mountains shown in the wood colors is straight up beautiful. Love that piece.
I’m pretty sure he made it himself.
Ray coming with the Jokes in the clutch ... I mean from the crutch. 5 stars will watch again.
Went by your work you guys took day of came back home to California

Jay: Who’s gonna help me move this plywood? I was expecting a BECKAHH!!
hahahahaha
She would agree…she wouldn’t be any help🤣
Same! 😂
Love yall
Hard to make an interesting video about this - but this is definitely one way to do it.
Jay has got the moves. Well done guys.

28th ray ray. Hope you getting better fast!
Thank! It’s getting better, but not fast enough. I have a doctors appointment next week, so I’ll find out more then.
@@Building_Jays_Way i hope it goes well. Keep us updated on your progress
Thanks 👍🏼
That's one way to do it!! Keep up the good work!!
I did this once with those break away screws so you don't have to pull the carpet. It worked at far as I can tell. Real screws may last longer.
best boss ever, no joke
So awsome that you guys work together and help each other out so awsome guys
Always!!

You did do a nice job on the video, and cool basement Jamie's got.

Them 4"×4" are gonna make a few really nice toothpicks.
Absolutely!

That’s one thing I miss about building, I take all the scrap wood home !
The perkins coattails are made of kevlar, diamonds, and pure American steel.
Looks like a bump in the road. All that wood in your basement. Wow

they make subfloor screws where you don't have to remove the carpet
jay, i'll give you a couple of 4x4s if you fix my floor too
Glad im not the only one who realized those screws are terrible!
Yeah they are terrible!
Hey there fellas
We have a loft extension where my son “lives” when he is home. Regretfully 20 years ago when we built it I had not seen the tricks to stop a squeaking floor. Unless you have lived with it you just can’t appreciate how irritating it is. Regretfully my wife won’t let me lift the carpet to fix it because the carpet was stupidly expensive.

Hey did Jason buy a real truck finally? I saw a Ford at the retreat house when he was getting the nails.
I did. Don’t drive it to work though. Don’t want to trash it! Lol.
Creeky Bobby lol!!!! I died laughing!!!
*sounding deflated*
Jason: I thought this was gonna be something cooler, anyone could of done this.. 😂😂
Who was flipping the lights off and on downstairs during the introduction in Jamie's house? 😂
I think I would fit right in the crew hahaha
That’s how I ski
🤣
I need to do this to my floors, question, what type of screws are these?
Lol haha you all are funny ( look for my boot ) 💓🤭😂😉🙏
Did adding all those screws give it some rigidity compared to before? sounded solid as heck when Jason was was jumping.
Yeah, there were no more creaks.
You guys ain’t right😂
Did anyone notices the lights in the background flickering on and off?
Above the staircase?
@@Building_Jays_Way yes
Yeah, one of Jaime’s kids or his wife were doing that…
If Jamie built it when he was 22 and assuming that he is about below 40, the house then was built 18 years ago or less. Did they use Advantech back then or whas Advanteck subflooring added later?
I’m not sure. I’d have to ask him, but he did say that he built the house 15 years ago in the video.
The correct answer always is. ..... "No, I have plans"
Ive always heard the saying, don't buy a mechanics car, and don't buy a builder's house, no glue and common nails on his OWN subfloor 🤣
Lol
That’s one way to fix a water leak into a taillight.
You should have just pounded the floor with a hammer to find the joists by sound...then shot ring-shanks through the carpet😆
We tried to tell Jaime that 🤣
LoL 😂😂😂
Whose playing with the lights?!
Flashing your wealth about by showing all that wood in storage.
The 'tips' are on the end of the screws!
What about to his leg?
I have never seen such old crutches since the 50's, there are better ones that you do not go into the armpit.

Put earplugs in
👍🏴😂
Jason must be independently wealthy, hard to believe he can make a living in construction him or Ray
Lol. Thank go for our wives!!!
For the rest of Ray's "foor" underlayment. I think you missed the "L" in floor bud.
Thanks bud.

lol.
What was wrong with that, he said it was too loud and I said put earplug let me know what I said wrong
What do you mean?
@@Building_Jays_Way I said to wear earplugs
Yeah, but why are you asking to let you know what you said wrong?
Squeaky floors suck!
.
Yep
