Turbo impeller wheels actively sit in the exhaust manifold damping the sound of combustion, making the resulting exhaust note smoother and quieter than a naturally aspirated engine.
As a South Korean, one marque I will never ever buy is MG. The Shanghai Automotive, the owner of MG brand also used to own majority stake in Ssangyong until 2009. The Korean government and creditors approved the acquisition on the back of SAIC’s promise to invest billions to revive the company. What a naive decision that was. The promised large capital injection never happened. Only 4 years later the chinese ditched the company into receivership and just walked off. The general sentiment in South Korea is that they acquired Ssangyong to get access to technology and just trash the company. Probably the worst deal in the world’s automotive history. I am so glad Ssangyong is still alive and making great cars, but will never forgive what Saic has done.
aaaaaa oooo i see I never realized that extent....I could kiss u....wow. im not alone in thinking as i feel mad and the lonliest person on earth to be anti SAIC. buying rover and mg wasnt ethical either, the way it was done, they bankrupted rover, longbridge guys outta work etc.....I just wish ssanyong all the luck in the world now and na good new start
Automobile technology is not a high tech area. Anyone and everyone can build a gasoline based engine- and China, India are rather advanced counties today. Two other South Korean companies doing well in India - Hyundai, Kia. Extreme nationalism doesn't serve any purpose in today's Global scenario. Daewoo went bankrupt. South Korea is too small a market. And they can't accept foreign companies. Today JLR is owned by an Indian company. If you can't accept foreign collaboration, one day you will need to run all yr cars in your land alone.
MG ZS? £18k start and 0% finance… I don’t think you can discount it just based on the engine - how old is the engine in the Tivoli? Tivoli is a good car but it’s also no SUV, it’s a super mini and let’s not forget it used to cost less than £13k. I honestly can’t understand how Ssangyong GB expect this to appeal to anyone at that price especially now it has the face of a washing machine which is an inexplicable design move (other than maybe an attempt to make people think it’s an EV). For context - we have owned numerous Ssangyong’s - currently have a Musso and about to take delivery of a Rexton - I’m no hater of the brand - but we also have a ZS that’s now 4 years old - great for the kids, great space, drives well, cheap to buy, still has 3 years warranty. I cannot fault it at all - the Tivoli wouldn’t have worked for us it’s just too small and expensive. Lastly, I have to object to your claim that in 2020 the car was made wider, taller and longer - this is just false - this is exactly the same body as when launched back in 2014/15 and I don’t know why you’re claiming otherwise given you’re a Ssangyong expert??
Hey Martha, thanks for the sensible input and opinion. If you look closely, the 0% finance deal is only for the higher spec 'Exclusive' MG ZS which is priced at £20,320 and therefore not included in the feature of this video. As explained the 'Excite' is relatively low spec compared with the Tivoli hence, we feel that it isn't competitive, especially as the interest rate of 9.9% APR makes the car around £500 more expensive than the Tivoli at the end of the agreement. The Tivoli's 4 year old engine produces 63hp more power at 3000rpm less whilst retaining similar MPG figures, so it's quieter and lot more powerful and relaxed, whereas the MG's 1.5 unit has been unilaterally panned in the press for it's vintage feel. However all being said, it's just our opinion and obviously at odds to yours. Virtually all marques have seen huge price rises since 2019, MG included. The ZS was also priced at £12,999 for a base spec back in 2018, it's a great shame that this model hasn't been updated (spec wise) yet still costs £5000 more today. In our opinion, the Tivoli is still very competitive in the market, and looks great (beauty in the eye of the beholder etc). Regarding dimensions, you can't always trust Wikipedia Martha! The original 2015 Tivoli was 4195 x 1795 x 1590 high. The 2020 model was/is entirely new, not sharing a single panel with it's previous generation, with dimensions of now 4225 x 1810 x 1621 high. This makes it the same width and height (without roof rails) as the MG and just 98mm shorter despite offering superior passenger space, boot is smaller though TBH! So please have a little faith in your SsangYong experts, we do the research so you don't have to! Best of luck with your new Rexton, shame we didn't have the opportunity to supply it, we're pretty legendary for deals!
isnt te tivvy same generation? odd dimensions grew.....one thing i wanna say....i cant think of a car that has smarter rear light than te zs...yeah likely going OTT but really elegant design. but balnd car.....also....mg zs looks excruciating and embarrassing without roofrails....I must say. I question what tivvy is prettier. with or without roofbars rails....So the style thing...well, the ssanger is more sophisticated Id guess@@clarioncarsuk8837
Just a typical dealer trying to sell you a 4-5000 € (manufacturer price) car 3-4 times more expensive 😂 Not to say that the other brand are that much more expensive out of the factory gates ,not saying that I am just saying he tries to sell us the cheapest car posible to a semi luxury car price ( mercedes has models under 35-30k )
"the seats fold down completely flat" Drops the seats, not flat, huge hump. "the back seats recline to give you loads more headroom" Reclines seat, which proceeds to move about 3 centimetres. Just review it as it is, don't flat out lie while we can see what the car is really like.
Hi thanks for the input, but you are mistaken on both. At 10:21 we mention the "the seats don't go completely flat" and then at 10:33 mention that flat loading can be achieved with the optional accessory trays. The rear seats recline 8cm horizontally, which gives around 18cm (7 inches) extra headroom. Seeing as the average height variance of an adult is 5.75 inches, and this variable space exceeds this, we feel that the description is fine. Hope this helps you make a buying decision.
@@clarioncarsuk8837 We hired one of these in Mallorca (asked for a Juke but got this). Basic, manual, petrol. Found one rear seat belt trapped in the seat latch and could not release it. Found the release levers disconnected from the Bowden cable due to broken fasteners on the release levers. So much for the 'turn round' inspection but illustrates the poor plastics. The gearbox was appalling and obstructive. So much so that we abandoned plans to explore the Tramuntana mountain hair pin roads. OK, it was a hire car but I wouldn't buy one. By the way - NEVER use Goldcar hire!
@@SecondoBisogno Well, I count in km and liters. And that conversion, to miles and gallons, is difficult to get right. However, I don't know a single Ssang Yong owner who can drive 5.5L/100km. At least, in ideal conditions, from 6.5 liters upwards. On average, owners state about 7.5-8 l/100km. And that's the better case.

THIS CAR IS AMAZING!
My son had a Tivoli and the price of spare parets was astronomical - £600+ for a drive shaft. I wouldn't have one if I was given it for free
what are those 3 keys on the front (2 black and 1 red) are they functional or just decorative?
Decorative, they look quite nice in our opinion!
confused! how does the turbo make it quieter?

Looks great, sounds like a very good car at a good value price... but all new? How about major (very effective) facelift of quite an old (2014) car...
It's actually a completely different car that shares no body panel with the original 2014 model!
