i feel like chinese people (especially chinese americans) are just generally taller than other asians. everyone on my moms side of the family is relatively tall. my mom is 5'7 (here in america we dont teach the metric system but i think thats about 170 cm?), and all the men are also pretty tall. me and my uncles are all around 6'3/6'4 (around 190 cm i think). and all of us grew early. i hit 6'1 when i was 14. 4 years later, i havent grown too much more lol. my mom has been the same height since she was 13 also. i think its gotta be the food though. everyone that migrated to the US from china are on the shorter side. my grandma and grandpa are 5'3 and 5'6, and all the other older relatives are also about that same height
I also tend to think that food is one of the factors. Me and my brother who is 1 year younger went to different boarding school. His school has the reputation of serving well balanced and nutritious food to its students. He used to be shorter and smaller than me but every time we went back home during school break I could notice he was quickly catching up to me. A few school breaks later he already surpassed me in height. By the time he's 17 he already reached 180cm. Not too tall by western standard but in my family being taller than 170cm is almost never heard of, and my parents are only 160cm.
