If you want Mario in different scenarios every time, watch the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. The whole gag was that it was like an oldschool cartoon and they screwed with continuity all the time. And speaking of continuity, Luigi saving the day at the end was pretty awesome... or it would have been if he'd actually been part of the story up to that point instead of just miraculously coming into being for the last part!
That Momotaro one is actually fairly accurate to the original fairy tale, except the original didn't feature a princess or step-sister in any capacity, and Momotaro's motivation was to kill a bunch of Oni (Japanese giants or ogres) who were stealing crops from his adoptive grandparents and the other farmers where he lived.
The Real Story is... A long time ago in a ancient Japanese village, there was a old couple who nice and kind, the old man cuts wood daily and his wife washes the clothes but one day when the old lady washes the clothes a giant peach hit in the river. She grabbed the peach and when her husband comes back they back to their home to eat the peach but before they can eat it suddenly, the peach splits on it's own a reveals a beautiful healthy baby boy inside of the peach, the old couple were surprised because they had no children together they came Momotaro which means the Peach Boy. As the years go by the oni steal a lot of stuff in the village but a decade later, Momotaro who's now a strong and brave teenager told his parents to go to the Oni Island and kill the inhabitants to get all of the stuff back he told his mom to make the best millet cakes of Japan so his parents agreed and a dozen millet cakes and his dad gave him sword. Then the boy walked down the village then he stopped on a dog because the dog wanted to know where's he going, the boy said that going to land of Oni to get all of the stuff back, the dog said "what's in that bag"? The boy said that he has a dozen of millet cakes in the bag, the dog wanted one of the dozen so the boy gives one to the dog. After a few more yards he spotted a monkey who wants to know where is he going, the boy repeated "To the land of Oni." The dog fighted the monkey because the monkey wanted to join the boy and the dog, the peach boy gives another millet cake to calm the monkey. Next when the three were about to got to a boat when a pheasant came on front of them, the bird wants to know where they are going, the boy told him "To Oni." The bird wanted a millet cake, the boy give him a another to keep him calm. Then his team went to the Oni castle and kill a lot of them in the castle, after tons of Oni were killed, the Oni King apologized to not steal anymore goods in the boy's village. He and his team go back to there home where Momotaro the Peach Boy and Parents live happily ever after.
Minus Mario being born from a peach and being given a gun, I actually kinda want the first story to be remade into a game. Not like Paper Mario, cuz we get it, Thousand-Year Door was a great game, but we don't want every Mario RPG to be like that. But I can still see Mario teaming up with these three characters to take on Bowser, that sounds like a lot of fun!
This 3-in-1 bundle is the full package! Absurdly hilarious and wildly entertaining! Just don’t think about it too hard Sit back & enjoy the ride The waffle will be your guide! Gosh! I have a headache from laughing too much Maybe a smoothie will do me good!
The subtitles weren't always as detailed as the actual Japanese lines, but still pretty accurate. I knew these existed, but have never fully watched them, I really should, they're quite charming!
Or they were just capturing the original concept. I once read (don't exactly remember where, but I believe it was from a credible source) that the fire flower was originally going to be a gun power up, instead of Mario shooting fireballs from his hand.
Now that I think about it. Banjo Kazooie is just Snow White. A ugly person asked an inanimate object who is the prettiest and the inanimate object tells the truth. Then the ugly person try’s to kill the prettiest person only for the hero to save the prettiest person.
@@heroessquad2019 it was actually written before Tomb Thumb, actually. We don't know the exact year Issun-Boshi was written, but we DO know it was written in the Muromachi Period, which was from 1392-1597, while Tom Thumb was first published in 1621, so it would be more accurate to say that Tom Thumb is an English Issun-Boshi tbh.
@@heroessquad2019 not USA. England. But with all the cultures that England has tried to erase over the years it wouldn't surprise me if Tom Thumb was a rip-off of Issun-Boshi.
Mario re-enacting fairy tales in 1989? Funny enough, "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" came out the same year and had a similar idea, but replace parodying fairy tales with parodying movies.

Actually, none of these adaptations are canon, they are just works of fanfiction. The first two are japanese folklore books. One is Momotaro the peach boy and the other is Issun-boshi, or the One-Sun Boy. I think Nintendo used both Japanese novels because they were identical to each other and the first story with Peach being taken wasn't in the original story with something identical. (Poor Peach had to be forced into marrige because Nintendo wanted to add their game twist on the story) The second one reminds me of the Thumbelina story and the English Tom Thumb storyline, just from Japan. Also, the reason why Mario looked too much like a full grown adult in baby form until Yoshi's Island (which got released in 1995) had a canon cute design for a baby counterpart of Mario and Luigi, this weird adult design kept being used in the late 80's and early 90's in things like comic books, the SMB3 animated series had a weird baby episode, and this anime trilogy. (though in the first Mario animated series, there is an episode where Peach does turn into an infant and she was like an early version of her baby counterpart without the adult design) Or maybe the animators in Japan were lazy and didn't want to create an early baby design at all for Mario, which could also explain why there are so many still shots because they might have been too lazy to animate everything. Lastly, a "female" Bowser is hilarious to me because this was way before Bowsette became a meme character.
If you want Mario in different scenarios every time, watch the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. The whole gag was that it was like an oldschool cartoon and they screwed with continuity all the time.

I doubt Momotaro wielded a gun though.

I would TOTALLY buy an official Mario with a gun Amiibo

I love how this universe implies that the Koopalings are older than Mario, yet he grows to a full adult while they look the same.
I guess they’re immortal
Well, they are Turtles, and many species of turtles can live longer than humans.

Oh I bet it’s real special alright.
It's so special, it subdues enemies without needing to be fired.
Yo so I haven't seen any comments about this yet but the first two stories are actually from Japanese folklore.
Ironically, I thought that our green boi would save the day in the end.
2:54 I hate how the Super Show music fits pretty good in this anime
The only time fishy boopkins was in a Mario cartoon
❤me too❤
Sad how a character who used another character’s design is possibly now more known then that other character
His name is Spike!
Nintendo should launch their own video streaming service with these as the tent poles. Disney+ would be old news.

Mario with a gun?
