    There are other surfactants just as bad as sulphates, which a lot companies will use as an alternative while still marketing it as sulphate free. Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate is one of them. Personally I don't mind this ingredient/ normal sulphate shampoos, but I think that's because I use hot coconut oil as a prepoo treatment before I wash, so my hair is always protected by an extra layer of grease.

      The creme of nature one actually has that ingredient in it, funnily enough. Perhaps the moisturising factors and dimethicone in it balance it out

    My fav Mane Choice shampoo is original purple & black one - the easy on the curls hydration. The second one is the pink lemonade one. I have also used the Egyptian one that you don't like. What I noticed with it is if you don't follow up with the conditioner and or mask from that same collection it will feel drying or stripped. Especially if your hair is used to dimethecones like creme of nature products

    I’ve tried the Mielle Babassu oil shampoo (hate it). The As I Am shampoo that you mentioned (don’t love it but don’t hate it). But one shampoo I LOVE is the African Pride Moisture Miracle shampoo and it’s only 4.99 at my local Dollar General. It taught me not to sleep on the “cheaps” lol

    My sister uses mane choice oil on my nieces hair and my nieces hair is to the middle of her back. So I figured I'd give it a try. My hair is usually soft, bouncy and is easily moisturized. I think I'd be considered a 4b. I bought the oul, leave in and wet moisturizer. My hair was something I didn't recognize after using the product. Dry, stringy, STIFF, wouldn't moisturize for anything. Usually I can take my hair, hold it up and it will drop like it has weight to it. After mane choice I held it up and it SLOWLY eventually fell. I tried all of my normal creme of nature products and.my hair wouldn't revert. I was devestated! My younger sister sat me down and put Aussie moist 3 min in my hair and I just new it was a waste of time! OMG! It brought me ALL the way back! That 2-3 dollar product repaired that damage and I haven't even went back to my usual products. I also started using suave sham/cond. I've been traumatized by the mane choice! I'm scared to try anything new!

    That's so interesting because I've never heard anyone else talk about how they used a shampoo before being completely natural and then using it again while they were completely and how it affected their hair differently. That happened to me when I used to use Carol's Daughter.

    • @domdom2215
      @domdom2215 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That happened to me. I've been natural from a bald head for 9 months and i am trying to find a good shampoo and conditioner. When i had relaxers i used olive oil shampoo and conditioner now that I'm natural they both make my hair very very itching moreso the shampoo.

    I agree that mane choice shampoo is so drying I got it on clearance at target and I took it back I just couldn’t...my current faves are TGIN and that Mielle. I love mielle when I have product build up. The rosemary mint one by mielle is good too reminds me of the mongongo

    Good review. The ones you disliked the most sounded like protien based shampoos i.e strengthening ones. I find that any shampoo that has strengthening in the title i stay away from. I dont think they are stripping more like hardening my strands so they feel straw like, which can feel as if my hair has been stripped lol so yeah stripping 🤦🏽‍♀️ i only use the aphogee green tea restructing spray every 2-3 months for protien otherwise i stay clear from anything that says strengthening or protien. Have me looking like MJ in the Wiz.

    I am here because I have this huge birthmark on the right side of my head and for whatever reason the hair that grows on that side is extremely coarse and thick and fluffy while the rest of my hair is thick and fine and gets oily really easily. So anything I do to the left side of my hair never does anything for the right side, so the right side is always so dry and frizzy and breaks so easily and it is a NIGHTMARE when it comes to hydrating because it never locks in moisture like the rest of my hair. This might sound confusing and I'm sorry lol. I've just been trying so desperately to find something that I can put on all of my hair that both sides will really benefit from. Like, when I was a baby, for a while hair only grew where my birthmark is so I was bald on the rest of my head. And while one side lays fine, the other is always going UP. It's up and it's up and it's up and it's stuck LMAO fr though. Regular shampoos and conditioners either do nothing for my hair or they make it worse. So THANK YOU. I will take your word for it and give some of these a try.

    Kind of feel like the shampoos that people say feel stripped the deep conditioner in the same line brings the hair back to life, so I don’t really mind, I like a clean scalp, so my judge is always on the conditioner

    Lol I’m scared to try Mane Choice products too. It’s so many collections that I feel overwhelmed and with those prices I’m not gambling on just anyone. Sally’s has a 30% of sale going on right now so I’ve finally purchased a DC and moisturizer from Mane Choice’s Heavenly Halo line. Hopefully I’ll love it🙏🏾

    I’m not really picky when it comes to shampoos because I know I’m going to deep condition afterwards anyway. My favorite shampoos with no sulfates are African pride moisture miracle shampoo and Shea moisture jbco shampoo. My favorite shampoos with sulfates is something cheap like tresemme moisture rich shampoo or Garnier fructis moisture lock shampoo

    Deep conditioners I kinda-sorta-maybe understand the expense...what with organic ingredients, detangles, and length of time on your hair and all....but I honestly don’t understand how any shampoo could over $7...🤔...
    I mean you could literally pop in some oil and aloe in some suave and get the same affect of a high dollar shampoo...I mean it’s shampoo 😂

    My favorite is Cream of Nature Coconut detangling shampoo. I have a question for you. I have an issue if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. I'm transitioning from textlax to natural I'm 4 months post and my hair is now shedding a little more than I'd like even with the rice water treatment. After 3 months post my hair start to shed normally and thats my indication to texlax which usually stops the shedding I started texlaxing to soften my curl pattern but since I've been using the rice water my new growth is so soft now that I don't need the relaxer anymore and I also detangle with the rice water. I'm not sure if it's breaking at the line of demarcation or what. I roll all the shedding in a ball so its about the size of a nickel. Anyone let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

    That whole manuka honey line is straight up trash! It is the most overrated Shea moisture line out there. Everyone talks about the deep conditioner like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. That deep conditioner is nothing amazing. It’s average at best. The cheap Aussie moisture deep conditioner blows that one out of the water.
