I have a newborn son who was born without a right hand and while coming to terms with the disability has been tough I look forward to buying these amazing futuristic engineered bionic arms when he is ready
I'm so happy she has hands and she won't feel uncomfortable and do things what 11/12 year olds can do and shes right they are fashionable and I want a pair
@@StupidSmut Aren't those new ones almost like normal hands? If not, then they aren't cooler, but if they are, just stronger and like robotic if you know what I mean 😅😂
I wasn't expecting them to be pink! I don't know why I think that's the coolest part, but little things like getting to pick a colour I really think adds some needed degree of control back that has been taken from amputatees. She looks like a super hero!
I lost my leg when I was 3. Growing up I was always the slowest runner in my class. There was only one time that I didn't finish a foot race dead last. I finished 2nd to last because, in 1st grade, as a girl passed me I pushed her down. I felt terrible about it, and I was sure I was going to be in big trouble as soon as she told on me, but she never did. I don't even remember her being mad at me, which only made me feel worse. I never did anything like that again, but I also never beat anyone else in a foot race again either. I did learn something, far to late to make any difference to that kid who used to be me, but maybe it will make a difference to you, Kind Reader: The one who finishes the race in last place, finishes the race. Don't ever forget that. Focus on what you can do. Don't worry about what you can't do. I can't run fast, but I can run far.
She is so mature, grown up and she knows exactly what she wants. That's what hard fates do with people: let them grow. I'm really grateful to have hands. 🙏
I had meningitis as a baby but I never lost limbs. I survived perfectly but almost died. I realise how lucky I am.... Bless her and I hope she lives a long fun life
My twin had septasimia and died when we were 7 weeks old it was to late before they could do anything she was completely black when my mum and dad went to the hospital(btw we were already at hospital but my mum and dad were somewhere else and the staff didn't want to do anything whilst they wernt there
How are these not publicly funded for every amputee who wants the option??? (Not sure what country this is if USA that explains it). ten thousand dollars is nothing in terms of medical devices or procedures. But a heck of a lot for one family particularly when she will need new ones cos she is still growing. But they will make a big difference for her
they are not funded because it is not critical. A person can live without hands and the NHS is publicly funded and as such provides a level of healthcare that is free for all to walk in a receive the same service throughout the UK but paying for every need of a person would be impossible. The NHS job is to keep you fit and alive. extras are a private matter.
Because it's no critical and it's not cheap. Many amputees who have their hand/arm missing actually prefer not to deal with the hassle of prosthetic. They find it a bit of a hindrance rather than a help.
Hi i saw tilly at newcastle hospital at hydro thearapy she has hurt her leg i think maybe broke it. But sadly she didnt have her hands on. I hope that doesent mean the didnt turn out to work god bless u tilly xxx
Man, I can't wait until she can play the piano with a pair of advanced prosthetic hands. I'm looking forward to seeing not just her do that, but every amputee. We're only about 10 years away from that I think.
3 years on she's got a good voice (she's on got what it takes), a sassy attitude and obviously pair of robo- arms. I'm so glad she got those arms and gained some more independence as a result.
She is so positive and full of energy. I really like her positiveness and and those guy who help her I want to tell them, they are doing good job. keep going guys, keep going,,,
Those hands are 100% badass! Wow! I am so happy for Tilly and her family. The company that made them is amazing!! A Terminator looking set of hands... oooh!
That is freaking cool and she's such a sweetheart i want those bionic hands stay positive because that's who you are a positive beautiful young lady you rock woohoo
I am so happy for you there are a lot of things that people have but don't realize how important they are to them until we lose them. I hope you are happy and other accept you for the wonderful person you are and that you get the hang of your new hands and things go well for you from here on out. I am happy for Tilly. I love the attitude to life as she has shown. I wish I could bring this to Africa. So many people without limbs here.

Omg she sooo cuteeeeee
Those bionic hands are so sleek!!! Such a nice, small design! Not bulky at all! Kinda looks like a fashion item! And above all, it is FUNCTIONAL!!

I love it how she acts like it are her natural hands. No shame. No hiding. You go girl!
My only concern is how they are going to be able to afford bigger hands as she gets older
I would guess the company sends her new arms every year and give her old ones to smaller children
she is 12. the arms already have full size.
FryingPan Well that's good to know.
Dr.respect Woman love that suggestion

I can tell you for a fact that my arms are NOT the same size now as they were when i was twelve. She still has growing to do.

Myoelectric arms such as this are available on the NHS if certain criteria is met. This particular arm is currently undergoing trials.
