  • Awesome interview with Ardy Sarraf, bass player in the Fab Four, an absolutely amazing Beatles tribute band. Ardy plays the role of Paul McCartney, of course, for which he actually taught himself to play bass lefty-style! You'll love this interview!

Ardy’s a genius. We’ve been marveling over his playing and singing for years. It’s great to finally have a real interview.

Ardy's very talented but he's hardly a genius.

Greatest respect to someone like Ardy who learned to play guitar AND bass left handed just to add to the authenticity of the show. I think Lenie Colacino from the original Beatlemania cast was the only other lefty Paul from what I can tell. Just amazing stuff. And what a great voice. He's the whole package.

Jon,I'm a musician, singer songwriter and this is the first time I've ever watched your channel and this show was very interesting,I checked it out because I like the Fab Four and noticed that you were interviewing Ardi Sarraf and it was great hearing about how you and Ardi started out,it was the Beatles that started it all for me when they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show,I was eight years old and they totally changed my life,so much so that I even got some friends together with cardboard guitars and tennis rackets and put on a mini concert in my backyard!,I lypsynced Long Tall Sally and we charged the neighborhood kids a quarter to see us,I think I made a quarter for that first gig!,little did I know that I'd later sing and play Long Tall Sally for real when I grew up,God bless the Beatles and yes the Beatles are a huge influence on me and my life, next to my family and my God the biggest influence! Bob

Great interview. I am a guitarist of nearly 60 years. I have known of Ardy and the Fab Four for years. He's a great guy. I liked this interview because you asked him great questions and I heard stuff I hadn't before.

I started taking bass lessons at 52, and a year after I was adding double bass, and loving both endlessly. Never too late!!

Great interview with Ardy. The Fab Four are the by far the best live/mannerisms/ lookalikes/ soundalikes Beatles covers band on the planet. Uncanny likeness and sound - as it was but now! Fab Gear!!
A word also for a band I rank alongside The Fab Four but who are different in that they are not lookalikes but perform live all the later album songs that the Beatles never performed live with the exact original instruments and gear - The Analogues.
Both brilliant bands. Sound fresh every single time. 👌👌

"Ladies and Gentlemen...The Beatles! --Oops! The Fab Four!
I enjoyed the interview with Ardavan "Ardy" Sarraf, bass player for The Fab Four. I've seen the Fab Four in performance, and they do a fantastic job. I was too young to see The Beatles live back then, but they do a great job, and I am particularly impressed by Ardy's choice to learn bass left-handed to duplicate the look of Paul McCartney on the Ric or Hoffner. Incredible that he learned by ear only without the aid of tablature or standard notation. Whatever you decide to do to further your bass knowledge, either by woodshedding on bass while watching TV or taking classes to improve your sight reading, the 3 P's are essential: Passion, Practice, and Persistence. -Rob Walker

Ardavan Sarraf never talks about his ancestry so I will spill it on here. It's Arabic-Persian! Be proud of your heritage Ardy!

It's good to be proud of your heritage...but it's got nothing to do with the music...probably why Ardy doesn't talk about it, I guess. I certainly HOPE it's not because he's afraid of backlash, because there would not be any. Love Ardavan!!

My wife and I saw the Fab Four perform a few weeks ago. I was excited to see Andy because I've seen him on TH-cam for years, but the 19-year-old Miles Frizzell was doing Paul's part instead. He was excellent, as were the other guys. Miles is from Nashville, and I was wondering if he is part of the famous Frizzell country music family.

Don’t know about any relationships to the Frizzells (Lefty?), but Ardy and the band are awesome. Thanks for weighing in, Randy!

At 6:10, Ardy is really getting into answering and expanding on the guy's question, and then the interviewer interrupts Ardy and says, "Say, didn't you eat some Pringle potato chips during that time?" I mean, that's how banal his interruption was. After you've asked yer bloody question, Shurrup and let an Artist take you there.

    • @ForBassPlayersOnly
      @ForBassPlayersOnly  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

What can I say, Michael. I was in the moment! 😂

  • @michaelg1060

36:10 When Ardy says that he'd met Paul McCartney and he went on to say he'd like to meet Ringo. STOP. REWIND-- Jon, you should've INTERRUPTED at this point (you've shown you don't mind interrupting, just do it at the Opportune moments) and said, "Ardy, wait a MINUTE, what was it like meeting Paul?"
I'm fairly certain we would've gotten something rare. What was it like? Did Ardy and Paul have a little talk? Does Paul dig what Ardy does?
I like you, Jon. But you need to recognize interview Golden Moments when they are dangling, practically TEA BAGGING you in your eye sockets!!
    But you're great, man...Peace!
