Your video popped up on my feed so I decided to go ahead and watch it. You have a beautiful back yard, with all the trees an flowers. It's kind of weird seeing all the greenery. I can't remember how long it's been since we've had any rain. This heat is just plain crazy! Makes me wonder how we survived growing up because we didn't have air conditioning! Believe me I have mine running non stop! Praying for rain here in Ohio ❤
Nice video! It looks like your immediate vacinity lucked out damage-wise! We got creamed in Omaha - I don't have any medium to large trees in my yard, but the neighborhood I live in lost TONS of trees. I was stuck at work when it hit. I'd have to say/guess that based on your video, the winds at my west Omaha auto parts store were quite a bit stronger than what you got there. Hell, NOAA fired up the tornado sirens all across Omaha! Regarding the power outages in Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties, OPPD said that there were a record number of customers without power with over 220,000. One of my co-workers didn't have power restored at his home for over a week!
This was a wild one to go through. Somehow, we escaped damage at our house but there were halves of trees down in the neighborhood. If we'd still had our willow, it would have come down on the 31st. It was basically just mush inside when it was taken down.

It has been one of the most destructive years in weather. We're in Ohio and at a couple points we were leading in tornadoes. Believe me when I say that it's not something that we're bragging about. We've seen some terrible storms hit NE and have prayed so much for you. I guess I should say that I mod a weather page and chat so we see a lot. You guys take care and thank you for your great video!!
On May 6th 2024 There was an F-4 Tornado on the ground. Wiped Barnsdall Oklahoma off the map 1.6milevwide tornado. I was under a tornado emergency. I stood out in my front yard and recorded the roar at 7Min mark on my video. It missed me by 100 yards and clothes from Barnsdall Oklahoma rained down out of the sky. I saw a huge massive cloud full of power flashes the edge of the tornado hit me directly. I had 100 subs and this got 30k views in 5 hours
@@neilanderthal7908 I may have. At the time, I was living in Greeley, Co. but had a weekly (trucking) route right back to Lincoln. Best of both worlds. 😁

@@thetinpin Yeah, I felt really bad for Omaha! Having no power during the hottest part of the summer would be awful. What a wild year it's been!
I like this video thanks for shairing

I’m surprised the tornado sirens didn’t go off because where I live they sound them for 70+ MPH Winds
Tell your son he did a great reporting job!
I work nights and slept right through it. Had no idea. Just woke up to debris everywhere and the neighbors with no power. Storm was long gone.

That was quite a storm! How long was the power out for?
I remember that one here in Kansas City we got hit with that well after dark, got some decent footage out of it.
Those kids remind me of me when i was little watching these storms lol
When I was in grade school and my dad and I would sit on the front porch and watch storms. He passed away in 2002 but this is a good memory with him😢
Called a derecho storm. Common but rare for us in nebraska especially the humid hot air. 3 yrs ago iowa so destructive. Started here.

That is like our afternoon storms here in Florida or a small tropical storm, but with sustained winds..
@@normalincoln8502 That explains the "Florida Man" phenomenon, I can only do crazy weather once per decade or so.
God Bless you!
That's the one thing about gardening I don't like is basically the weather.

trees are strong , that storm prove it , you have wonderfull yard
Took me 4 days to get all the tree debris cut up and delivered to Holmes lake.

Your time before running into the house would have been better spent by securing loose items in your yard and moving your outdoor grill to safety.
@@nmr6988 I was hoping the wind would clean up all the loose stuff for me, you know, like a leaf blower.
