      Exactly the same here. I’m 46 too and I got bitten hard by the Gnarled bug as a young teen. Them, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Faith no More and Nirvana all releasing those incredible albums around the same time. What a time to be alive!

    Use Your Illusion I+II are arguably the best rock albums of that decade and required listening for any self respecting rock fan. It would be worth it to react to more songs from those albums. There's a reason why Gun n' Roses were so huge, you'll find that reason in the songs on these albums!

    • @Herbalizer28
      @Herbalizer28 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      For me most songs on Appetite for Destruction are better than those on the Use Your Illusions albums..They've been overplayed..but Rocket Queen, Mr Browstone, Welcome to the Jungle, It's so easy, Nightrain, even Paradise City and Sweet Child O' Mine are great and really capture the more punkish vibe of their sound...the Use your illusions albums was Axl trying to create epic songs..and it worked for a few songs, but overall, only a few songs stand out = Estranged, Civil War, November Rain, Don't Cry, You could be mine (which was really an Appetite for destruction song..that's about it..maybe Yesterday and Knocking on Heaven's Door...so 5-7 songs worth listening to in full length 2 albums isn't great..

      @fredfredburger5150 I'm not talking about popularity, I'm talking about quality of songs..but even if we go with popularity, who listens to them now?...half the songs on Appetite can still be heard on the radio and the other half are heard on specializes channels...the truth is, Izzy Stradlin was the soul of GnR and he left after the 1st album...Appetite is the best selling debut album of all time, of any genre, for a reason..there are no skips on this album.

    I remember when Use Your Illusion 1+2 dropped, i got them both for Christmas.
    They were played constantly at every party for over a year.
    Civil War gave me goosebumps back then, and it still does. Wow, what a song!

    The last song Steven Adler recorded drums for. He was so strung out trying to detox during the recording session that they had to literally cut and paste the tape from all different takes to get his drum track. He was fired as a result shortly after.

    GREAT reaction gents!! My #1 GnR song - and it's a doozy! Not just musically, but lyrically, this one hits on so many levels! Actually most of Use Your Illusion II does...Estranged, Locomotive, You Could Be Mine, and I LOVE the alternate lyrics version of Don't Cry! (actually listened to that more than the single release, so I know those lyrics better!)...and of course, my ultimate stress relief song...Get In The Ring!
    HIGHLY recommend checking Estranged...it follows so well with Civil War!
