- We associate certain makes and models with good resale for a myriad of reasons - brand image, popularity, service network, low maintenance etc. Also at the bottom end of the used market we have cars that are sales disasters or discontinued models or those that are painful to maintain.
Then there are cars that command surprisingly good market prices, despite being unpopular in their heydays. These aren't cars that you normally look for when shopping for a family car, but their prices are higher than you'd expect.

Renault Fluence is an excellent car with really good features. I owned one and sold it just because of the service and spare parts cost. To name few features
1. Keyless entry for all doors
2. Dual tone climate control
3. Speedlimiter and cruise control
4. Traction control , esp, ebd,abs all four disc breaks
5.inbuilt side and rear blindes
6. Automatic locking system ( my personal favorite. The car locks itself when you move away with the card key.
7. Leather seats and all white interiors for E4 diesel.
8. Auto lights and wipers
9. Steering which becomes stiff at high speeds and changes to comfort at low speeds
10. Excellent ride quality and millage.
11. Auto volume control based on speed.
12. USB and aux.

PS - I have huge respect for women and doctors, just pointing out tactics used by dealers here 😀

Almost all vehicles in olx are priced very optimistic. I was told the depreciation is like 30-40% for a 3 year old car. But most of the adds after 3 years are asking 85-90% which totally makes me think to go for a new car rather than get a used car.
They know people would bargain like its bagdad market, so they ll consider that while pricing .
If u price comparison to market rate u can sell within lil time, people put high price and ad will be there for long time and atlast he will not get market price too

For M. outlander it was a dream car when I was young May be cause of the styling. I liked it very much.
Simply addicted to this channel.. most useful channel ever for an auto enthusiast…in between There was an updated full option diesel Fluence before the face lift (the full option E4 D had body coloured door guards in contrast with E2D which was the base model which had black door guards..)..which was loaded with features like key card and dual climate control AC..we have been using it since as our daily from 2013…as JD mentioned the ride is so comfortable my mom always prefer Fluence for long drives…excellent fuel economy for the size of the car and driving ergonomics and suspension is spot on for our conditions…we clocked 1.4 lakh kilometres and still running like a charm…

Ok..I'm a proud owner of nuvosport..the fact is it's a wonderful vehicle , recently I had seen many on road. I guess there was only 36000 units produced , all are sold out...vehicle is very decent, 1.5 litre 100 bhp engine, and gives 15 kmpl with ac in city n Highway ..my vehicle crossed 120 k kms in 4 years .only brakes replaced ..and oil change in regular intervals..
Safety ..me and my family is alive just cos of that car...even though its a base model without airbags..really good to cruise at 120..130 range...
Those who drove nuvosport for the first time..surprised by it's performance....in it's class..it's a good one..ground clearance and interior space is also good ..
And we nuvosport owners are not ready to sell it....especially for cheap price...lol...

The idea is that doctors usually use the car from home to the hospital and from the hospital to the home. They are not take leave and not drive around much with the car. That is why there is a demand for used cars by doctors

Simple ayit parayathe comparing to our neighbouring states used car prices have a huge hike in Kerala . My friend was looking for a Contessa . I still remember before 4-5 years contessas were easily available at 1-2 laks and some examples ever at very cheap rates .. as people began to mod it restore it it value has gone tripple folds .. we went to see one on Pathanamthitta the car was in very poor condition had gearbox issues .. rust .. and none of the gauges worked and the owner was lyk 2.5 lks .. or nothing .. we kicked the deal . Went to Bangalore .. stayed there for 2 days saw lot of good contessas atlast picked a beautifully taken cared one for 2.2 lacks without any negotiation !!!! .. .. ..
It was used by a family and they were even soo friendly .. he even gave us extra 2 spare tyres which were laying around .. a rain cover .. and all such accesories available .. soo if u guys are looking for buying something and it doesn't fit ur budget always try from TN or KA there are better options out there on cheaper price tags ..
Exactly. The used car brokers here often play a lot in increasing demand for some cars that are not even in Production any more Ex:Ritz. I have felt like these guys are even on social media groups (like vandipramthanmar) boosting some selected cars.

On OLX cars are overpriced priced 1-2 L & premium cars at 6-10 L.
And you rightly said- ignore all the hashtags and instead talk to the owner(u get ur first impression) and go see the car and take it for a drive before making the final decision.

Actually, shouldn't we be avoiding Doctor's cars?
They drive a lot and travel long distances pretty frequently. And doctors have to get to their destination quickly so they drive pretty fast too. On top of that, they have no time to worry or bother to learn more about maintaining their car apart from doing (kinda) regular services and occasional cleaning.
@Sam sp not to sound like I'm bragging I know more than you but I know quite a lot of doctors and from my experience, even some with the drivers drive pretty quick (not rash). Not saying they are worse than other car owners but I was just trying to use some logic to know their point and it doesn't make sense. They should be treated just the same as other cars on sale.
And they do travel a lot of distance though.
Depends on the doctor, I'd say avoid cars used by surgeons for the reasons you've mentioned.
I had a 2010 Jazz. Exchanges it to get a 5th gen city.
It was a really fun car to drive. And the quality was much better compared to today’s Hondas. Suspension link rods had to be replaced frequently. I had a major breakdown once and the radiator had to be replaced. This was very unlike Honda’s reliability proposition.
If I get enough money, I’ll buy a 2010-12 Jazz again and keep it as a city car. Lots of videos online saying it’s the best car for Honda Fit in USA which is the same car.

Agree with you that any vehicle owned and taken care with passion are good buys as second hand car. But the "doctor owned" car phrase adds value because Doctors travel from point A to B and back, they do service at company workshop at regular intervals( they don't know how to change cabin filter even!) , they don't do any cost cutting on maintenance.
This is only a general notion. We do not have any data to support it.

Felt happy when I heard the name of my first trophy - Had a Quanto C6 Nov 2012 (1st gen) model bought for 8 L on road. Front seats were good, had a two stage turbo. I liked to drive it. After a year or so, Mahindra provided adjustable seats for the middle row and called it Yoga seats. Nuvosport was not just a cosmetic facelift, it used the platform of new Scorpio which made the ride much better. Mahindra also baptized it without the name ending with 'O'.
Sold my quanto in 2016 Sep (70000 km) when the turbo started giving headaches. It was sold @ half the price (after informing about the issue with turbo which was around 65K at that time for replacement) and bough a S-Cross in 2016 Nov (first gen with first gen alloys).
2nd Trophy - Datsun Go T purchased in 2014 Sep. Sold it for 1.1L in 2021 Dec (95000 kms).
