many years ago i meet up with a Zoroastrian priest and asked him how could i become a follower of his faith. he asked me why i wanted to become a Zoroastrian, i said because it sounded good. he told me i am a Zoroastrian if i be a good person and do good things. Unlike Islam or Christianity he had no interest to convert me.

Matthew Vahedi As a Zoroastrian which was not converted by priests or family, and as an Aryan, I can see why a priest would act in that way and not accept you. Iranian (Aryan) peoples have different inherent/genetic behaviourisms from other peoples, and the concept of bringing in converts to the fold would mean accepting mixing of peoples, which would mean the bastardisation of Iranian integrity: the corruption of Aryan thought patterns, history, inclinations. I believe this may be why a Zoroastrian priest may not accept a convert. But then again, most Zoroastrians, especially the Indian Parsees (fake Zoroastrians) will definitely not allow foreign entities into Zoroastrianism.

The problem with cult is that it is suitable for uneducated and common people, which in turn paves the way for politicizing, superstitions and many times meaning less rituals. A way of life (Daena) is something for intellectual people. Like Mazdaism, or Sufism.

Brock I rather call it a "philosophy" than a religion. Original teachings from Zoroaster didn't contain "Heaven and Hell". There is no god but Ahuramazda (great wisdom) and you should use your brain to distinguish bad from good. There is no abrahamic god who punishes you or forbids you anything or want you to obey him. This is what original Zoroastrianism is, based on knowledge rather than fantasy. Zoroaster was a Philosopher no prophet.

+113310546916128928131 Yeah Yeah this is nonsense from the Mubeds (Zoroastrian priests) who added things to Zoroastrianism. I do not judge them but Zoroaster didn't teach these things. In fact only 23 sites in the Avesta are Zoroasters sayings. Rest comes from people who wanted to turn this into a Religion. Who ever wants to understand pure Zoroastrianism must only read Zoroasters philosophy (aka the Gathas).

My point is that ,generally speaking , when people start to define themselves and others by ethnicity-race-culture-nationality etc. ,they lose the greater perspective...that all are part of the ONE , and when we wake up and see that most people can get along just fine with others
and not buy into the " us versus them " mentality fed to us by governments and institutions ,the better off we all are. See how Cyrus did it...

    Dialogue between Zoroastrianism and Islam:
    Islam: Hello, please convert.
Zoroastrianism: No, I don't want another Mazdakism, understand? I'll kill you, I don't want to hear your nonsense.
    Islam: Okay, prepare to die.
Zoroastrianism: No, you prepare to die.
    Later:
    Islam: Who's dead now?
Zoroastrianism: I will return one......... day...
    1500s
Islam: Who are you, and what do you want?
Shiitism: I am back, don't you remember?
    Islam: No.
    Shiitism: Prepare to die Arab!
    Islam: NOOOOOO!

    • @ShahanshahofPersia
      @ShahanshahofPersia 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Read that^
***** The Seljuks and Ghaznavids were Turks who ruled Iran but they were better than the Safavids because they promoted Persian culture wherever they went. I'm not saying that they weren't brutal (Just ask those HINDU Afghans and Christian ANATOLIANS, who are both now Muslims). Anyhow, the Ghaznavids and Seljuks were both pro-Persian dynasties, who intermixed with Persians, promoted Persian scholarship, and employed Persian officials, one notable example being Nizam ul-Mulk. Nizam was an ethnic Persian who was the de-facto ruler of Iran for 20 years and held absolute power as the Vizier of the Seljuk Sultunate.
Once the Safavids came, they butchered everyone who didn't want to become Shia. They killed off what remained if Iran's Zoroastrian, who may have numbered as high as 15% of Iran's population prior to the Safavid conquest.
Finally, don't forget that the Safavids established the Shia clergy in Iran. Most of the clerics were brought over from Lebanon and given full authority over the Iranian people ***** d.
Bottom line: Safavids were pretty bad, almost as bad as Timur.

The parthians wasn't genetically persians, because the tribe, who conquered Parthia, from the Seleucids was the Parni and they originated from the Dahae Sakas, or Dahae Scythians. So the Parthians where Scythians, its very important to note.

Islamic adage- words a person speaks/preaches apply first to person speaking them. A Reminder to myself- "Never do I debate a man with a desire to hear him err in his speech, or to expose the flaws in his argument, and thus vanquish him. Whenever I face an opponent in debate I silently supplicate, 'O Lord help him so that truth may manifest itself in his heart and on his tongue. If it be that the truth is on my side, may he follow me; and if the truth be on his side, may I follow him.'"

Scalars try to date Zoroaster as profit, what they do not know Zoroaster name in Farsi is ( Za-Rah- astar. the way of star ). The original version was suppressed and all evidence destroyed by invaders. What now remain as Zoroastrianism is fragment from people memory mixed with other mythology put in a book and practised as Zoroastrianism. We as The magi discreetly retained original as man’s civil and cultural inheritance.
Long ago in one arm of Milky Way galaxy doweled a space furring civilisation. We call them THE GAURDIANS. They progressed to extent that all their needs were met. Their understanding of physical world was complete. The inhabitant’s main ambition was to become cosmonaut & serve in space core. The Guardians systematically surveyed all the planets and moons of local stars. They recorded evolution of each space bodies. Solar system is one among the many they have been visiting. They noted many of planets in this system are in life bearing stage. This motivated them to visit regularly. Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter has already passed life bearing stage. Mankind were living on fifth planet. They were in conflict most of time. Intervention by Guardians provided short term peace. They made decision to rescue the peaceful group and leave the rest to their fate. Our ancestors were living on Saturn. Guardians moved us to the fifth planet to be their link to the locals. They told us, Earth had shape of an egg with height equal to width and length. This made it a sphere with one axes displaced slightly. temperature rose. frozen planet turned into global ocean. Volcanic activity raised mountain out of water and built continental size land. Life evolved to ape level under their guardianship. It took many many generation of acclimatisation before they could bring sufficient number of mankind to earth before fifth planet was destroyed. They had selected a large fertile plane as secured base for man arrival in Africa. It was at spring equinox in northern hemisphere and harvest time in Africa, when first group of mankind were brought to planet Earth. It was chosen as a bountiful starting point. A new day (Norouz). The Guardians used mainly this time of year for their subsequent visit to planet Earth. it was timed with earth procession. This was our reason to study stars. They retained contact with us. We always looked forward to their visit. We celebrated their arrival & bringing man to Earth. A very Long time later our local Group language that became well-known was Farsi. The Persian King adopted it as official celebration for his empire. It was celebrated from Africa all the way to china. After the empire fragmented many kept tradition while others moved it to different dates and names. Farsi kept the original spring equinox. our task as Magi was to be knowledge keeper for mankind. We have provided much information in the past. I have the remaining unknown science to give to selected scientist for mankind. complete our job. MG1

1500-1200 is not widely agreed on anymore, but good general overview. James Orr says:
Zoroaster's prince Vishtaspa (in Greek Hustaspes) bears the same name as the father of Darius I, and was probably the same person. Vishtaspa's queen Hutaosa, who also protected and favored Zoroaster, bears the same name (in Greek Atossa) as Cambyses' sister who afterward married Darius, and probably belonged to the same family. Zoroastrianism comes to the fore under Darius, whereas Cyrus in his inscriptions speaks as a decided polytheist. Hence, we conclude that the earliest part of the Avesta belongs to circa 550 BC.
    ...
Herodotus makes no mention of Zoroaster, but speaks of the Magi (whom he calls a Median tribe (i.101)) as already performing priestly functions. His description of their repetition of charms and theological compositions (i.132) would agree very well with recitation of the Gathas and Yasna. Mention of controversies with Gautama, Buddha's disciples (Yasht XIII, 16) who probably reached Persia in the 2nd century BC, is another indication of date. The fact that in both the Yasna and the Vendidad heretics (zanda) are mentioned who preferred the commentary (zand) on the Avesta to the Avesta itself, is a sign of late date.

Than we agree on something, I too don't like religions that say you have to kill someone of no reason. The only time you should kill someone is in self defense and even than that sould only be used if there's no other way.
It's a true belief as long as it's about love and peace, not killing some poor man for no reason.
I am who I am, that's all I can be.

@IranHistory According to Mackenzie's theory, the Persians (or Proto-Persians) occupied the province of Fars in the southwest (proceeding from the assumption that the Achaemenids spoke Persian), the Baluchis (Proto-Baluchis) inhabited the central areas of Western Iran, and the Kurds (Proto-Kurds), in the wording of G. Windfuhr (1975: 459), lived either in northwestern Luristan or in the province of Isfahan.[11] Windfuhr identified Kurdish dialects as Parthian, albeit with a Median substratum.

As a Muslim I've always been interested in other religions, so I enjoyed this short video full of information, its unfortunate about some of the comments about Muslims below, the impression I'm getting of Zoroastrians is that they hate Muslims far more than I realised before looking into this religion. As people of any faith or religion I think you'd gain more from educating people, if you have grievances about Islam and Muslims mention them but there is a way about everything and hating people for the sake of it doesn't get you anywhere.

@Wanda7771 I am not Zoroastrian, but have done research recently on this amazing religion. The religion was overwrought in the 7th Century as the Arabs attacked Persia, and eventually defeated the Sassanian Army. When the last ruler in the Sassanian Era, Yazdegard III, was murdered in 651, the 400 year reign of Sassanians and the height of Zoroastrianism came to an end. The Arabs eventually left (thus why Iranians are still Persians and not Arab), but their Islamic legacy continues.

The Brahmins of Munj, which was attacked next, fought to the last man after throwing their wives and children into fire. The fate of Asi was sealed when its ruler took fright and fled. According to Utbi, ".... the Sultan ordered that his five forts should be demolished from their foundations, the inhabitants buried in their ruins, and the soldiers of the garrison plundered, slain and captured".

In 1008 AD he captured Nagarkot (Kangra). The loot amounted to 70,000,000 dirhams in coins and 700,400 mans of gold and silver, besides plenty of precious stones and embroidered cloths. In 1011 AD he plundered Thanesar which was undefended, destroyed many temples, and broke a large number of idols. The chief idol, that of Chakraswamin, was taken to Ghazni and thrown into the public square for defilement under the feet of the faithful.

The chastity of women was never violated. The non-combatants were never killed or captured. A human habitation was never attacked unless it was a fort. The civil population was never plundered. War booty was an unknown item in the calculations of conquerors. The martial classes who clashed, mostly in open spaces, had a code of honor. Sacrifice of honor for victory or material gain was deemed as worse than death.

Those who did not fly were put to death. The Sultan gave his soldiers leave to plunder and take prisoners."

Sorry to say but its a negative effect. People think of Islam and the first thought that comes to their mind is terrorism.
And i am also sorry to say but most of your so called religious priests teach your children nothing but hate.
If you follow a religion make sure it teaches you how to spread peace and not violence and war.
I am not saying any religion is better than the other but just that RELIGION is made for us we aren't made for it.
Its made to bring us close to our Creator but what its doing now is its dividing us all.
Which i am 100% sure none of the Gods(although I believe only in one and he's got no name) would want that to happen.

Zardusht emerged as a prophet during the reign of Gusht Asp(1 of the kings from aspa dynasty).the prophet had strong relations to the aspa family so it can be clearly seen that Zardusht had not come to Balkh from some other place but he was a native inhabitant and one of the nobles of Balkh.as a result to recent zorosastrian discoveries in greater badakhshan(devisioned between afghanistan and tajikistan today) it is a fact that zarthust's home was that area!
