I love hearing about Amelia Earhart's story
Maybe she flew so fast she flew through a portal to another dimension. I know it sounds ridiculous but sometimes if you can’t turn to “fantasy” there’s no other explanation for things.

It's simple, she either had malfunctions with the aircraft, fell asleep, or just plainly crashed. The ocean is huge.

They already figured they have discovered where she was on an island just south of where she was supposed to land. They found A campsite where somebody was surviving for a period of time, found a woman’s body with a make up kit that covers up freckles, and a leather jacket that just so happens to be worn by pilots. I don’t understand why everybody still wonders where she is when it has been discovered by a private expedition.

They did not find a leather jacket. But there are reports of a skeleton, 1930s freckle cream jar, sightings of probable aircraft wreckage on the reef, bits of aircraft aluminum and plexiglas in the abandoned village, etc. No one thing screams Amelia Earhart, but all together it looks like somebody, probably a woman of European ancestry, lived for an undetermined period of time on this otherwise uninhabited island.
TIGHAR is trying to find more evidence on that same island, and while a jacket wasn't found, this is the mostly likely scenario. Sadly, the bones that were found have been misplaced.

I hear her plane crashed in some place called Gravity Falls (?), which is located in Oregon I think. Apparently, she carved her name in the mountains there.

She flew in to outer space man. She came back in '75 for Hoffa though. But, about half-way to Alpha Centauri, they realized they were gonna need some bitchin' tunes man. So, they turned back and picked up Elvis in '77. They made it to AC about 20 years ago man. Elvis is bigger there than he ever was here. Hoffa got arrested for smacking Earhart around, and now she's teaching kids how to fly their parents spaceships and shit man.

A book I read many years ago had the theory that she was observing the Japanese fortifying the islands in violation of the League of Nations act that gave them authority over the islands. This was at the request of the president. She ditched in a lagoon and the plane sank. She died in a prison cell of dysentery and Noonan was beheaded. The plane was recovered by the Japanese and later scrapped in Japan. The writer of the book, Michael Mooney as I recall, interviewed islanders who were alive at the time. I don't recall exactly which islands but I think they were Tinian and Truk.

I've seen this topic thoroughly covered several times on TV, and #5 seems the most likely, though there is a slight chance that #1 was possible. However, as one of them said, although famous as the Queen of the Skies---or at least a Princess---her contemporary women pilots and other knowledgeable aviation people said the evidence showed she wasn't great shakes as a pilot. She had very poor radio skills: Navy radio operators were almost in tears toward the end because she wouldn't transmit long enough for them to get a fix on her. This situation was exacerbated by the fact that she didn't want to deploy her trailing radio antenna, which was needed to strengthen signals in the vast expanses of that huge ocean.
Howland Island, as well as many others in the Pacific, was poorly charted, a problem that dogged the US military when setting up their island-hopping campaign during the War. Despite not extending the trailing antenna (a cable on a reel that could be fed out into the slipstream behind the aircraft) to conserve fuel as much as possible, chances are great that she simply ran out and the plane went down nowhere near that tiny island. It would be nice to know, but would there be enough of an aluminum-bodied aircraft, with many steel components, be left after pickling in salt water for 80 years? (As a matter of fact, I really hope they find telling evidence of the plane---and those of Flight 19!---before I shuffle of this mortal coil.)

Ignoring Manchuria, the actual start of the Sino-Japanese War did not happen until after Earhart's disappearance. And tensions at the time of her flight were not that high yet between the U.S. and Japan and would not be until after the war with China began.

I don't know about brave but she's Is unprepared for most of her flights. Crashing, landing at the wrong airport, and finally don't put yourself in the deep pacific. It's a shame that putting them forced her into this. You either was too dumb to know how dangerous it was or just didn't care.
