      @debjorgo 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@beatlebrian4404 I have no idea what "the 35 year rule" is. The Beatles own the recordings of the music. So, to use the songs in commercials, unless they get permission, advertisers must use cover versions. They still pay for the use of the songs but not what they would pay for the recordings. That's why you hear covers of All Together Now in so many commercials.

The Beatles became a rock n' roll band in 1960 and were signed in 1962... they took over Europe in 1963 and finally #1 in N. America in 1964... The band stopped touring in 1966 after they were frustrated w/ the volume and hysteria they encountered playing concerts that no one could hear because of the loud screaming.
In 1967, The Beatles re-made their image and sound as a studio band releasing some of their biggest records after ending their touring days... However, internal tensions were causing friction in The Beatles by 1969... after the 'Abbey Road' album was recorded in '69, John Lennon announced that he was leaving the band.
In 1970, Paul McCartney went public w/ The Beatles' breakup and sued the other 3 members to terminate their partnership (He was not doing it out of malice... he wanted all 4 members to get their fair share of money, so that their manager would not be able to rip them off...Paul McCartney was the only member who didn't sign w/ their then-manager Allen Klein)
Any possibility of a Beatles reunion ended in late 1980 when John Lennon was shot and killed by a deranged fan.
Michael Jackson was friends w/ Paul McCartney, who wrote songs for MJ and did the song "The girl is mine" (by MJ) and MJ sang on McCartney's track 'Say say say'... However, their friendship ended when MJ bought the rights to the Beatles publishing in the mid-80's against McCartney's wishes.
In 1994, 3 surviving Beatles reunited in the studio to complete 3 demo tapes by John Lennon and made them into new Beatles songs - 'Free as a bird'... and 'Real love' in 1995. A third demo was incomplete, but it was finally finished in 2022 and released in 2023 - 'Now and then'.
In 2001, George Harrison of The Beatles passed away from cancer.

Lennon & wife Yoko Ono held nonviolent protests against the Vietnam War, called Bed-Ins for Peace.✌️ American psychologist, Timothy Leary was an early advocate for LSD, whom Lennon admired. Leary intended to run for the Governor of California & asked Lennon to write a campaign song based on the campaign slogan 👉 “Come Together - Join The Party”. The rest is history! ☮️ 💟 🌻🌻

He sold his shares. They became available again around the time Michael was hitting it big and after John had been killed. Paul wanted to buy the shares with Yoko Ono, John's widow. But she didn't want to pay what they were being offered for. Michael had Thriller money and outbid Paul.

1969 for The Beatles, one of their final albums. Paul McCartney did a duo with Michael Jackson afterwards which was a hit in 1984 (not "The Girl is Mine" but "Say say say".) After the Beatles broke up in 1970 (you should see the documentery "Get back" btw), they departed for good. George Harrison already had his ideas and he got success ("My sweet Lord" at first, "When we where fab" and "I got my mind set on you" cover in the 80's), John Lennon before he was shot had so many hits ("Woman", "Instant Karma", "Imagine", and the ultimate Christmas Song "Happy Xmas War in Over") while Paul did his due first with the Wings to compose the theme song for the James Bond movie "Live and let die" in 1977, but also singing "Maybe I'm amazed" for his wife, Linda and Ringo Starr also has his career still going on today. At least, you should know that all of them were highly influencal on rock and pop music.

John and Paul met in 1957, I believe. By 1960 they were pretty much settled on their iconic name, but their iconic spelling followed not long after, if memory serves.
They "invaded" the USA via the Ed Sullivan show in February 1964, @ 3 months after JFK's assassination. Young Americans really needed some good news -- or great music. They always say location location, location. THIS TIME it was timing as well !!
I was 4 and a half years old when I heard them on one of my cousins' stereo players in their basement in Brooklyn, N.Y. THEIR bass and drums, combined with their harmonies on She Loves You electrified my little mind💣💥👍👍 -- and soul.
AND you're not mistaken about Michael Jackson. At one point, years after The Beatles breakup, Michael bought the (rights?) to The Beatles portfolio? Not sure if ownership remained with Jackson beyond his death, though.
Michael wasn't the only goat to "cover" The Beatles. Lots of artists have covered Beatles music. AND here on You Tube you can find LOTS of aspiring musicians covering Beatles music, one of them is Paul Moody. A great talent in his own right.👍👍
I fantasize all U guys on You Tube "coming together" in the spirit of Lennon's Imagine.

The Beatles formed in 1958, or so, but didn't get BIG until 1963. Their career was done by 1969, with the album "Let It Be". "Come Together" was on their album "Abbey Road", with that iconic picture of the boys crossing Abbey Road in London. A few bands, besides MJ, have covered "Come Together". I would suggest two for you to check out, Grateful Dead, only live, no studio album inclusions, and Aerosmith. A-smith did it in the horrible 70's movie "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", with Peter Frampton and The BeeGees. Don't watch the movie, just listen to Aerosmith cover this song. It's great.

I'm a little fuzzy on this but from what I remember, Mike did buy the rights of almost all(if not all) Beatles songs 20+ years ago. He basically stabbed Paul in the back. Paul was furious about this.

Michael snaked Paul McCartney, outbid him and bought the Beatles catalog after Paul innocently suggested to Michael he invest in music publishing!!!😒😒 I worked on the "Say Say Say" video and that was when they had that conversation!
Paul was not happy about that!!!
Paul now owns the catalog of his music, but it took decades for him to get it!!!👌👌👍👍✌✌😁😁

I always loved this song until John was assassinated and I realized he sings "shoot me" at the beginning and a few times during the song. I'll never forget how devastated I was hearing on the news that he had been murdered in 1980. Still it's an awesome song.

Paul was making 100's of millions a year due to his song book. He decided to share the info with Michael Jackson who outbid Paul at an auction of Paul's playbook, Michael was no fool.

jackson's version is called a "cover." anyone can pay to cover a song written by someone else. (also, in the 1980s jackson had bought the rights to most of the beatles' songs. it made him a fortune. but he still had to pay to cover the song.)
in their early days the beatles released many cover songs including a few originally written and performed by black artists like "twist and shout" (the isley brothers) and "you really got a hold on me" (smokey robinson and the miracles). thanks for the video.

Inbetween the Beatles creating the original, and MJ remaking it, somewhere Tom Jones played it on the Tonight Show and gave a good rendition of it.
Most of the song is coded full of sexual innuendoes. For example, "mojo filter" is a condom. (Took me over 40 years to figure that one out.)

Aerosmith covered this in the movie Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Bee Gees were also in the movie. I’m not clear on the details, I haven’t thought about it in decades but everyone connected to the movie were ’cursed’ as a result. Aerosmith for example couldn’t get a hit until Run DMC came into their lives
