Hey @shaun1900 , it's true that these were three of the 8 bikes that mate it into the test, however the initial long-list of bikes we considered contained over 20 bikes. As always with bike of the year, we had price constraints - £3500-£4200 (before Whyte (and Scott) dropped their prices to £2999), and on the longer travel / more aggressive side of things. Of that 20 there were one or two that weren't available, however I'm pretty confident we collected a range of bikes that fulfilled what we were looking for in TBOTY 2024. Which bikes do you feel were missing? Always happy to receive feedback on our tests, of course :)
@@TomMarvin1hey Tom, I would definitely like to have heard what you thought of the Santa Cruz Hightower or Tall Boy , as well as the Specialized Stumpjumper or Pivot Switchblade. There are quite a few bikes left out that we would have loved your team’s opinions on and how they compare against the Whyte etc.
Nice try but 160mm travel and Assegai tires is NOT a trail bike. Not to mention your comment about the most important quality is their descending capabilities... 🤨
"Don't let the 130mm travel decieve you, This is built for fun" - what planet are ppl living on when they think 130mm isn't any fun ???? Gobsmacked.....
I've looked and looked at the market and have to agree for £2999 the Whyte is untouchable!!! It offers everything not to mention lifetime free frame bearings . Plus I have to say from personal experience the build quality on the Whyte is far superior to the yt ....👌🏻👌🏻 plus it looks the dogs bollucks 🚲💨
Anyone have experience with the Ari Delano peak elite? I have done on much research while trying to get back into rail riding (recreational/exercise) and keep coming back to this one based on price and specs…
What would be your trail bike of the year?
👹
Yeti ARC
Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy. 160 front. 150 rear. Six different geo settings. Mullet capable.
Pivot Switchblade
Banshee Phantom
I love the colour of the Whyte.
The cannondale habit lt! 💙 best bike I’ve had
It was a real contender for the top three!
Title should be the best of the bikes we were sent, these are not the best trail bikes available by any stretch of the imagination.

@@TomMarvin1 so did you ride all those 20 bikes, or only the ones that were supplied by manufacturers / distributors?
My imagination is really tired from stretching, with no success 😔
@@Jacob99174 must be hard being so stunted
Just bought the Marin XR, can't wait to ride it. In need of a new wheel-set to compliment this fantastic looking bike!
What about the YT Jeffsy

Yes, this review is inconsistent and totally biaised
How come 160/150 is a trail bike? It used to be 130/130. 160/150 used to be enduro few years back and now is all mountain.
130 is xc now😂
2024 XCO's Crans Montana stage would have been a Enduro track years ago 😂.
Because bike industry has no integrity. Change everything every 24 months
For 3k there’s no argument against the Whyte, that’s a hell of a lot of bike for the money

Santa Cruz Hightower - absolute dream to ride.
I've just bought the Whyte t140, Awesome bike rips down hills
What is the weight please? That info is hard to find online.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, glad you're enjoying the Whyte!

what would you pick between trial bike of the year 2024,2023,2022?
Best trail bike in my opinion is the yt izzo or commencal tempo
Rocky Montain Altitude
Bike radar goes through many bikes and out of those they pick three bikes for the final round!
The answer is the Orbea Occam. Unlucky
How can you say the best trail bike of the year when you only reviewed 3 bikes?
Looks like Whyte reinvented the Specialized Stumpjumper Evo.
Climbs way better than the sj evo
No Ripmo AF? Get out!
Hahaha. What nonsense😂
Eh..
Yt jeffsy. Trek Fuel ex, Specialized Stumpjumper, Orbea Occam?
Exactly, REAL trail bikes!
