Thank God that's all that went bad with this storm. It could have been worse. Just wanted to mention that my husband and I, absolutely, LOVE your country. We visited it in June and July for 3 weeks (all the way from Miami) and we just fell in love, to say the least. The people are just beautiful (inside and out). We went on a roadtrip that started in Edinburgh and ended in Glasgow. We even stayed a few days in Orkney Islands. I have so many photos and videos that I want to make a video about it. Anyway, enjoying your content so far and just subbed! 🧡
Glad you and Luna are OK Ali. The allotments have taken a good battering. So very sad. We had one of our fences down and half the glass of my greenhouse roof blew out and shattered into ours and the next doors garden. Unbelievably my polytunnel survived 🎉🎉 I put it up on Wednesday not knowing the storm was coming. I went out in the dark on Thursday night, quickly put my doors on and buttoned them closed and screwed the doors shut. We built a new fence yesterday and the greenhouse will have its new roof today. Seeds are mostly ruined but I'm glad to say I see all this as small damage compared to what others have.
Well done on the polytunnel survival!! I saw the allotments had been hit. I wonder if my wee polytunnel and shed survived. Even though I'm giving it up, I still have a lot of stuff there to clear out before the start of the new season
So happy to hear you are both OK. Not good about the leak though. I assume you checked the fuse box? It might just have tripped a circuit Ali. We had lots of very strong wind and lashing rain in South Staffordshire but luckily no damage thank goodness. Thank you for updating us 👍 Angie ❤
NE England - had a few road closures, no trains running, several fences down throughout the estate this morning - ours was rocking slightly but no damage, thankfully.
Hi I live in Inverclyde but I am overseas at the moment,I phoned my neighbour yesterday and he said every looks fine, my daughter will check it next week.
Glad you came through it all well. Love that colour on you. Al the best to others here that were came through this wild weather. Hope you are all okay too!
I'm good. Some of the buildings in the surrounding streets lost their roofs in a pretty spectacular fashion though! Glad NOT to have a flat roof yesterday 😮 Glad you're all safe ❤
Again same as all glad your all ok, check your roof tiles re lighting cable being wet, does your fuse board have rcd protection you will know if it has a small green test button on the main switch, so if your power keeps tripping then that could be the rcd (if it does that is). ❤
Glad you are ok and hopefully the electrical problem isn’t too much of an issue. I’m on the South Yorkshire/Nottinghamshire border and we just had a bit of wind with a few small branches down. ❤
Glad you’re ok and Luna wasn’t too freaked out by Eowyn.. Facebook friends in Scotland had their shed trounced and garden fence was rattling and shaking.. Haven’t had any messages of any damage from relatives in Arbroath..
My Mum is in rural mid west Ireland. Thankfully no damage to the home, though no electricity or telephone signal. The forestry plantation in the next field along lost a lot of trees. On the plus side there is more daylight in her kitchen now. The next storm is about to land. She has gone to stay with my brother and his family and they have no water!
Glad you are OK and have survived the storm without too much damage and repairs stay safe Ali and luna and looking foward to seeing you on money Monday video 👍❤️😊
I'm in Northern Ireland. My electricity was off for over 25 hours but there are thousands of homes still without power and they say it could be a week before everybody is reconnected. Some of the trees at the "Dark Hedges" were blew down
Crumbs you are quite calm id be rather upset with a leaking roof area and loss of electricity upstairs but I guess could have been a whole lot worse. My brother, also in Stirling had part of this oak tree come down into the road, There was no damage. to fences or any property or injury to anyone out and about . Phew
Hi Ali, so glad to hear that you and Luna made it through the storm safe and sound. I am through near Glasgow and it was pretty wild, electricity dipped several times, but thankfully stayed on! Just a garden fence down here, so thankful to be through the storm safely. Thank you for the information about the train lines, my daughter is up in Aberdeen and was supposed to be coming home today, but all the trains were stopping at Perth, I guess the fires on the overhead lines explain that! Hope your electrics dry out soon, take care 😊x
Hi Ali, good to hear that you and Luna got through it ok. After I watched your video yesterday I called my brother in Dundee. He was walking home in the storm! He had gone out on the bus, and by the time he was done with what he had to do, the buses had been cancelled! Luckily he made it home ok (he's in his 60s and not too steady on his feet, so I was very worried). Anyway, hope you get your roof and door fixed soon!
Glad all is well. We've got a little garden tidying to do but that's all, couple of fences and trees down locally. We kept our electric which is amazing as we always have a power cut. 😊
Good to hear that you are okay. I have family on an island in the inner Hebrides and they have no electricity and obviously no ferries running … although nothing new there.
Fife has had problems my daughter and son in law live out towards Kincardine and still have no electricity till tomorrow sometime. They are staying with me until then as their house is heated by electricity. We have many small broken branches in our garden and several broken tree branches overhanging so hope they remain in place until the council can cut them back. I live next door to a public park. 🏴
We lost our fence and some guttering and my parents lost a bit of their roof so it’ll be a bit of a nightmare with the insurance etc and trying to get it fixed. A young man was killed when a tree fell on his car though so it’s all relative, our small annoyances don’t really count. There are trees uprooted everywhere and many roads closed, I don’t remember anything as bad in my 60 odd years.
It was billed as the storm of a generation and they weren't wrong. My thoughts are with that poor young man's family. You're so right, things can be fixed and replaced.
Glad you and Luna are safe. There was a report on my local TV news tonight (Perth, Western Australia) about severe storms in Ireland and UK, nothing about Scotland. Cheers
Great that you didn’t have too much damage from the storm.I have friends and family in Scotland some have damage some don’t but thankfully they are all safe and no major damage to anyone’s property.
It was a bad one Ali and we were surprised and pleased that, it appears,we don't have any damage. Denny, Grangemouth and Stirling along with the west coast got it bad😢
Lots of damage seems to be on buildings with flat roofs. I'm amazed there wasn't more damage round my way but we sit in a kinda wee dip in the landscape (allegedly where the Battle of Bannockburn took place!) so we were protected a bit. It was rather scary at times though!
So relieved you and Luna are ok ❤ yes Scottish Borders got it quite bad lots of damage Trees down and structural stuff but glad to say we are ok no power for most of day till late eve ! hopefully back to normality for now ❤
I just paid £10 grand 10 months ago for a massive fence with concrete bases and posts as my house is high up and very exposed, but in the storm two of the posts fell in had some one look at it and I need 7 of the post dug up and the hole deeper,no point in calling the ones who did it as ive called them for 3 other problems and they never showed up to do any of them so had to pay someone else,I also had to get my garage roof tiled again after it only getting done last April,
Hello! We got a battering in fife no damage to us in Lochgelly thankfully just 2 cocker spaniels wanting to see what was going on and same with our 2 moggy cats!!! But back to normal service if walks today xxx
Thanks for the update - great to know you got away relatively lightly. I did find myself Googling 'power outages in Stirling' last night and saw that there seemed to be a line on the map dividing your immediate area (as I understand it) in two. I bet you were both relieved to get a proper W.A.L.K. in this morning! We (East Midlands) have glorious blue skies in all directions and a light breeze this morning.
We’ve had no power since yesterday and said it will be Tuesday before we get connected again! We’ve just checked into a travel lodge which is not exactly frugal but with kids in the house and -2 in the house we had no choice

My son lives in Arbroath and he said it wasn't as bad as the central belt. Hope that helps to put your mind at rest.😊
My Mum is in rural mid west Ireland. Thankfully no damage to the home, though no electricity or telephone signal. The forestry plantation in the next field along lost a lot of trees. That was some day. I lost a fence and a shed. The electric was off for 32hrs. Everyone safe x

Yay, so glad you are well and safe. Hope you find the cause of your loft leak so it doesn’t mold!
All OK here in Fife but the roof came off a local school & a health centre. It was quite scary at times i thought 😮
