Many, many, many moons ago, I talked with a guy who told me about how some of his relatives dealt with the abusive husband of a girl in his family. According to him, the man was tortured to death over the spring and summer after the girl's father found out that he was beating her. When he was finally so weak that he couldn't stand up, he was left on a small island in the swamp in Louisiana. This supposedly happened back in the early 60's and the guy who told me about it had a Cajun accent. I really don't think he was lying about it because he was saying that he would like to do the same thing to a child molester that had just been sent to prison.

Why didn't she call 911 first
