Looks beautiful! My grandpa has custard apple trees in his garden in the azores. They don’t produce much fruit but they dry the trees leaves and use them as a tea that they swear lowers cholesterol. I love those little passed down traditions 😊

Hey Kathryn, hope you're well. We tasted that fruit and it was amazing! That's a fascinating insight! We also did a fruit tasting session video back at our hotel. We have just got back from another 2 weeks holiday and had an amazing time. I've just posted another video! James

This is a tourist trap. This is a place where tourists get scammed what’s the prices astronomically high

Absolutely agree! This actual woman scammed us in broad daylight! It’s nice to visit, Just don’t buy anything from them

@@HappyHungryHibbyI just saw your other video and shocked about the prices, very good video's. I'm going to Madeira in januari. I'm a hobby fruit grower and would like to taste all the fruit they grow out there. Can you help me to places they don’t scam the tourist? I can’t imagine those prices. I think the specialised fruit seller on my local market here in the Netherlands doesn’t ask those prices for pitaha and passion fruit that woman asked.

@@MathijsHerremanshey, thanks for your feedback! I’ve a seasoned traveller to Madeira, so can definitely help. Be sure to check out Pingo Doce, which is like an Aldi or Lidl equivalent. They sell seasoned fruit and veg at base line prices. By all means, drop into the market for the experience. You can also buy from conventional stores, where the locals go. Just be sure the price tags are already out. I also did a video on tasting the fruit and couldn’t believe this lady ripped us off, although we were still filming her and the experience. Last tip is to buy the pineapple banana on the first day and one that has already ripened, as this is the prize fruit but can be expensive

@ thanks that will definitely help. The conventional stores are everywhere I guess, just some local shop like in Spanish city's? I read somewhere that the pineapple banana is something that grows everywhere in the wild and is not eaten by local people. I don’t get it, I read for tropical food forest it’s a delicious fruit.
